Fret not: you can get the iPhone with a prepaid plan

Has anyone else noticed the line on the iPhone commercials that says “2 year contract required”? Well, that’s the pits for prepaid users, right? Not so. Apparently, a two-year contract is required if you want to get the iPhone at the advertised price — $499 for 4GB and $599 for 8GB. Somehow, though, we don’t think that’s much of a boon for prepaid subscribers. Yes, you can get the iPhone with your Go Phone plan. But, uh, think of the price. You can figured they’ll add around $150 to the price, meaning you’d be paying either $650 or $750 for this marvel of modern technology. But hey, it’s your money. Two factors lead us to recommend you wait it out. First, there are a limited number of phones available; who wants to camp outside an Apple store? Second, the price is bound to come down, especially with the second round. Once they’re manufactured, you’ll have more available for cheaper. Can’t go wrong, right? By the way, they’ve dropped the “2 year contract required” line from the commercials. [Phone News] [Go Phone]]]>
