GoPhone Adds Unlimited Data Plans

AT&T’s GoPhone debuted two new unlimited plans a few weeks ago, and somehow I missed it (although HowardForums users sure didn’t). One unlimited plan is designed for smartphones while the other plan is for basic/messaging phones. I’m not really sure when these plans first debuted, but they look pretty nice–especially the smartphone plan. here are the details:
• $60 Smartphone Plan
• Unlimited talk, text, international text (mexico, canada, 100 other countries)
• 2.5 GB high speed data
• Unlimited lower speed data, throttled at 128 Kbps
• Additional data costs $10 for 1 GB
• $45 basic phone Plan
• Unlimited talk, text, international text (mexico, canada, 100 other countries)
• 2 GB of 3G data
• reduced unlimited data (speed not listed)
Definitely on the right track to win back customers, that’s for sure. I could be wrong, but the 512 kbps throttled speed seems a lot faster than almost all of the other networks, who throttle down to the mid 100s usually. Also, as a point of interest, there is a third plan labeled as ‘new.’ The $40 smartphone plan includes 500 minutes, unlimited messaging (international as well) and 500 MB of data, with additional data available as a package.]]>
