Boost Mobile gets first retail stores

prepaid cell phone providers, you can compare carriers before you decide which to purchase. And even then you can do it all right online. But sometimes, you just need to go to the store and see the product. This is why Boost Mobile has launched their first retail stores. They’re calling it a “branded shopping experience.” I call it “a place to play with the phones.” The first stores are located in Huntington Beach, California; Hialeah, Florida; and Houston, Texas. They are said to be furnished, as to provide a more lounge feeling. Judging from the wireless retailers I visit, this is an invitation for teenagers to hang out after school. But since they’re Boost’s target audience, they might not consider that a bad thing.

“Our stores have a great vibe and highlight the best we have to offer,” said Michael Lanzon, vice president of sales and marketing, Boost Mobile. “But they’re much more than just retail spots aimed at attracting customers; the stores are centers for community connection. Becoming an integral part of these neighborhoods is a priority for Boost, and we are actively engaging local civic officials and giving back to charities in the communities where our stores are located.”
What thinks you? Would you rather have a physical store where you can demo the phones? Or would you rather just shop online?]]>
