In September of this year, Boost Mobile debuted a new “Double Data” promotion where all three unlimited plans were reduced by $5 and the data was, as the name suggests, doubled. Originally promoted to end in October, the promotion was so popular it was extended to January. Now, leaked internal documents state that the double data plans will become a permanent fixture of Boost Mobile plan pricing. According to the this leaked document aimed at indirect retail partners of Boost, the plans will be available for both new and existing customers. Boost’s website, however, still lists the “Double Data” plans as ‘limited time offer’ so it is unclear when a formal announcement will be made. Here are the plans available:
  • $35 for Unlimited talk/text/data, 1 GB high speed 3G/4G data
  • $45 for Unlimited talk/text/data, 5 GB high speed 3G/4G data
  • $55 for Unlimited talk/text/data, 10 GB high speed 3G/4G data
In addition to this change, Phone News has reported that Sprint will be implementing a $3 “convenience fee” to top-up monthly services with both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. The fee will not apply for the first monthly payment made upon activation, and will not be charged to consumers topping up online, via prepaid card or using auto pay. However, any top-ups made with an actual representative will be charged this fee, no doubt to try and increase the adoption of their auto pay system.]]>
