Adding music streaming to prepaid brands seems to be quite a trend, and Cricket is no exception. Last week, the AT&T owned prepaid brand announced that they will be shutting down Muve Music in favor of the more popular Deezer brand. Known worldwide, this premium music provider is used in more than 180 countries and has the world’s largest music catalog with more than 35 million songs and 30,000 internet radio stations to stream. If you haven’t heard about Deezer, don’t feel too bad. The exclusive deal that Cricket Wireless and Deezer signed last week marks the first time that Deezer will be available to mobile subscribers in the U.S. and Cricket announced that customers will be able to try out Deezer’s music platform as early as January 31. To promote adoption of Deezer’s music streaming service, all new and existing Cricket cutomers on the GSM LTE network can sign up on January 31 for a free 15 day trial of Deezer. After the trial ends, customers will be autobilled $6/month for the premium service. Muve Music customers will be eligible for an extended trial and will have the option to transfer their exisiting music libraries and playlists to the app to continue listening to their favorite music. Muve Music is expected to be discontinued on February 7, 2015.]]>
