AT&T Prepaid Family Plan Overview
For individuals who are looking to use AT&T for their extensive network, it is a good idea as it does have some of the best coverage and fastest 4G LTE connection speeds. However, for individuals who want a prepaid family plan, they are going to run into a bit of an issue. There are prepaid plans with AT&T and then there are family plans, but there are not both. Due to this, if you are looking to purchase phones for yourself, your spouse or for children, you need to simply purchase the number of phones you want and opt into the the different services for each phone. Of course, you are able to alter the number of minutes and serves you want for each individual, but there is no combination plans available for the GoPhone prepaid phones that are available through AT&T.
If you want a smartphone, there are different services available to you. The least expensive smartphone prepaid phone is $25. This gives you 250 minutes and unlimited texting and picture messaging, but you do not receive any sort of data. If you want to add data you are going to have to spend $5 for ever 50 MB you add to the plan. The second offering is the $40 month plan. This gives you 500 minutes and unlimited picture and text messaging. You receive 200 MB for the payment and then you must pay $5 extra for every 100 MB. If you have a smart phone it is a good idea to have some sort of data available to you, even if you do not regularly use it, because even checking your voice mail and other basic services uses data. Due to this, the $40 plan might be your best bet per individual. There is a $50 plan with unlimited everything, although it only allows you to connect to data through a Wi-Fi connection. Lastly, the $60 plan gives you unlimited everything plus 2 GB of data and the ability to purchase 1 GB for $10.
If you have a basic phone and you want to use these for your family phones there are several different options. You have the $.10 pay per use phone, where you pay 10 cents per minute, 20 cents per text message and 1 cent per 4KB of data used. The next plan charges you $2 a day, but only on days you use the phone and you have unlimited texting and calls with 1 cent charged per 5KB of data. There is a $25 per month fee with 250 minutes and unlimited messaging. You pay per data usage or can purchase 50 MB of data for $5. There is a $35 per month for 500 minutes and everything is unlimited, and the $50 per month is completely unlimited.
