Sprint Prepaid Phone Service Review
Overview
Sprint is one of four Tier 1 carriers in the United States and like Verizon, they use a CDMA network. Unlike many of the other carriers, Sprint has a pretty good prepaid user base and they rent a lot of their spectrum to MVNOs.
Pros: Their plan prices are pretty decent for unlimited talk and text.
Cons: The available phone list is a little short, and Sprint blacklists all new phones from prepaid until they've been on the market for about a year.

Plans: Three plans, all of which are on a 30 day cycle and include unlimited talk and text as well as HD voice (where available) voicemail and other common features. International calling is available for an additional fee. Plans are: $35 for 1 GB data, $45 for 3 GB data and $55 for 6 GB data. Data does not roll over. Read more about Sprint plans
Customer Service: Sprint's customer service is pretty average–not too wonderful, and not too terrible. They can be reached 24/7 via a chat button on their contact us page, or by calling a toll-free number or dialing *611 from your Sprint device.

Payment Options: Sprint prepaid has numerous ways to refill or purchase additional minutes for your account. You can buy minutes on the website with a credit or debit card, electronic check or money service. Autopay is available and can be set up online or by calling customer service. Minutes can also be purchased at Sprint retail locations.
Text and Picture Messaging: All plans include unlimited text messaging
Data Plans: All three of Sprint's monthly unlimited plans include a limited amount of data. Once the data cap is reached, data will be no longer available until the end of the cycle or until the account is refilled. Sprint offers 4G speeds in select areas, but video streaming is limited to a maximum of 3G speeds everywhere. Data amounts are 1 GB with the $35 plan, 3 GB with the $45 plan and 6 GB with the $55 plan.
Downloads: Sprint does not offer any special downloads for their customers, although their phones come pre-loaded with software. Third party apps, ringtones and files can be downloaded on compatible phones.
International Calling: Sprint prepaid does not offer any specific international calling plans, but all phones can call select locations. Calls are billed at an additional rate per minute, so a balance must be present on the account.
