Chatr Changes Plans, Data, Zone Requirements

Chatr Wireless is one of those little MVNOs that people tend to forget about. However, this Rogers-powered mobile company has made some major changes to its plans, lineups and zones in which it offers service. Whew! It’s a lot to keep track of, but we’ll break it down for ya!

Plan Lineup

First and probably most important, Chatr Wireless has restructured its plans. Here are the plans that are currently available:

International Talk Saver

Chatr offers an International Talk Saver feature with plans priced at $25 or higher. This feature offers reduced minute rates to 200 countries around the world, starting at $0.01/minute. Rates vary from country to country, so make sure you check to see rates for each individual location.

Data Add-Ons

Chatr has also changed some of the data add-on options, which customers must add separately to talk and text plans in order to access the internet and other data-centric services. The following add-ons are available for all plans:

• $10 – 500 MB
• $15 – 1 GB
• $20 – 2 GB

Data overages are charged at $25 per 250 MB or $100 per GB, whichever is less.

New Zone Availability

Additionally, Chatr Wireless has announced that it is now available in seven zones and has coverage in around 200 cities spread across Canada. The areas that have some coverage include:

• Toronto
• Vancouver
• Montreal
• Calgary
• Edmonton
• Ottawa
• Southwest Ontario

You can view the coverage map for a better idea of which locations have coverage and whether or not your area is supported.
