Cricket ready to roll out in St. Louis

Cricket Wireless will be available in the St. Louis are beginning tomorrow. This means an additional 2.5 million people will have access to the flat rate, unlimited service. Cricket’s coverage area, which was extremely limited not too long ago, now covers 61.7 million POPs nationally. The company currently has over three million subscribers.

“The St. Louis area launch marks our fourth new market launch in just two months’ time and meets our goal of launching approximately eight million covered POPs by mid-year,” said Doug Hutcheson, president and chief executive officer of Leap. “As we continue to bring our leading-edge unlimited wireless services to new markets, we are once again well on our way to potentially doubling the size of our Cricket business. We are also continuing the deployment of our unique broadband product in St. Louis and we expect our Cricket services will be popular with area residents who are demanding high-value services at affordable prices.”
In addition, St. Louis customers will have access to Cricket’s wireless internet plans, which cost $40 per month for unlimited usage. Customers who also sign up for a wireless voice plan get a $5 discount on that plan. It shouldn’t be difficult for St. Louisians to find service: Cricket has nine retailers in the area, and is also available through 80 authorized dealers.]]>
