Sprint’s prepaid division and its prepaid MVNO Virgin Mobile both announced that they will be adding a new LG phone to the prepaid lineup. Sprint prepaid customers will be able to purchase the LG Tribute Duo while Virgin Mobile will be offering the LG Tribute 2. Boost Mobile
added the Tribute 2 to its lineup last month.
Both devices should cost around $100 plus tax and will be running the most recent Android OS, Lollipop 5.1 with a smaller display. I’d place both device in the entry-level market, basically piggy-backing off of LG’s flagship with design including buttons on the back of the device.
While I couldn’t find the specs for the LG Tribute Duo, they are probably very similar to the Tribute 2. Here’s what we know about that device:

This is false information Virgin Mobile never put this phone on their website.
This information is directly from Sprint (the announcement link in the article has been added, as apparently I forgot it originally. Sorry about that.) I’m not sure why it’s not showing up on the website, but I can’t find it either. I wonder if it’s a regional offering, as Sprint has a tendency to do with its prepaid brands. Would have been nice if that had been listed. Sorry for the confusion!!
Liz Virgin Mobile has three and a half Androids on their site and they are all old models. They took off every good phone , They added iphones but the Galaxy’s and the LG Volt and the HTC 816 are all gone. These phones are still killer phones . They don’t know what they are doing . They are loosing customers and they are not getting new ones. Customer service is not helpful like before , they cant even port in a phone number correctly. It looks to me that they will eventually turn into boost mobile and grandfather in their current customers. I think that they are waiting for the contract to end to use the Virgin name.
Yeah, they’re definitely prepping to make changes of some sort. I also suspect that the brand is on its way out, but I haven’t seen anything official anywhere. Their plans are pretty outdated and phones options are, as you pointed out, pretty dismal (especially if the few updated devices they have, including the iPhone, are out of stock, as I’ve been hearing).
