Verizon doubles prepaid data with limited time promotion

Verizon announced its prepaid smartphone plan back in May, we were underwhelmed. The $80 monthly fee for unlimited talk and text plus 1GB of data is only $10 cheaper than their postpaid version. Since prepaid users are not repaying a subsidy, that seemed like a pretty poor excuse for a viable plan. In an attempt to lure customers who are more drawn to smaller prepaid carriers, Verizon has started a promotion that doubles its data allotment to 2GB.
