Telus reiterates: Don't respond to spam

Telus spokesman Chris Gerritsen backs it up:

They’re likely not targeting anyone specific; they’re going ‘phishing’ to see if anyone bites,” said Gerritsen. “We always tell our customers not to respond to unsolicited messages.”
Telus assures us that they’re using anti-spam protection, and the latest technology at that. But as any of you with Hotmail accounts know, it’s very easy to open the floodgates of spam. Don’t let it happen on your cell. [Edmonton Journal]]]>

I’m with Telus. I know this info is old but it’s crap! I’ve been getting spam from the same # for weeks (ever since my voicemail notification was fixed by Telus) and their customer service rep actually told me to try replying with the word “STOP”. Now, I thought that was weird; just like in the old days with fax ads, if you replied they knew they’d found a good number and just kept sending more junk! So far, I’m still getting spam from the same #. Only way to stop it is to have Telus turn off texting completely. Surely they can do better!?
