Are you more excited for Virgin's One V or iPhone?

Virgin Mobile launched two new smartphones in the last two days. Well, three, because they got both the iPhone and the iPhone 4S. yet they also got the HTC One V Android handset. While the iPhone is the envy of the smartphone world, it comes at great cost for Virgin customers: $549 for the two-year-old iPhone 4 and $649 for the iPhone 4S. The One V isn’t quite up to the iPhone standard, though it does have a processor equal to the iPhone 4 and it does run the newest version of Android, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Yet it costs far, far less than the iPhone, at just $199.99. So it asks the question, which are you more excited about? Which one makes more sense for you? You can check out both new smartphones at Virgin Mobile’s website.]]>

I’d never spend $400+ for a cell phone.

For the $650 cost of the iPhone I can buy an iPad or even better the Asus Transformer Infinity AND Keyboard dock. Maybe I’m weird, but I’d rather have the fancy tablet and a basic phone for calls and texting.

At $549.99-$649.99, I would buy the EVO v and take the extra and pocket it. Not really that pressed for an iPhone!!

Prepaid phones cost a lot, but its worth it in the long run. Versus paying contract to Verizon, doing prepaid can save thousands of dollars. So, for a quality smartphone that lasts many years I say $650 isn’t so bad. Just be sure you like the Apple interface (personally I like the Android interface a lot more). The HTC ONE V seems to be an excellent low/middle end smartphone, especially for $200 (originally $350). Does anyone know if the hardware was modified, as a Virgin phone? I’m excited about the ONE V, yes its missing some features the iPhone has, but the ONE V is a cheap, yet quality phone that I’ll keep for years, hopefully.

$649 is a steep price for the 4S. But Virgin Mobile’s $35/per month plan will save you a lot of money compared to AT&T’s basic iPhone talk, data, and text plan for about $100/per month. You could make up the cost difference between a $200 4S on contract in about 4 or 5 months.
Having said that I’d rather have the Evo 4G on Boost Mobile with their shrinkage plans 🙂

Why would anyone pay $650 for an iPhone 4S when the iPhone 5 is just around the corner.? I understand the world of prepaid: pay a higher price for the phone in exchange for a lower monthly bill. However, I don’t think certain phones are worth their price tag when you could buy other pieces of tech, like a TV, video game console, tablet, and other things.

For $650 you can buy just about any phone unlocked so why pay that much for a phone thats a couple of years old
