Virgin introduces unlimited calling plan
Virgin Mobile made quite a splash late yesterday, as they introduced an unlimited calling plan. This is going to be right along the lines of Verizon and AT&T, which each offer subscribers unlimited voice minutes for $99 per month. Virgin will do the same, though their price is $79.99. The plan can be purchased starting July 1, and is available to all new and existing Virgin Mobile customers. Unlimited messaging can still be added for $10 per month. Whereas Verizon and AT&T had a number of plans at a price point above their unlimited plan, Virgin Mobile has just one, a $99 plan which provides 1,000 voice minutes plus unlimited nights and weekends and mobile to mobile. This new unlimited plan gives customers further incentive to sign up for Virgin Mobile. Unlike with the major carriers, there is no obligation to continue using unlimited services. You can change your plan anytime you want, including switching to a pay per minute scheme. Customers can even drop the service at any time if they are dissatisfied. Such is the advantage of prepaid. Now all we have to do is sit back and wait for something further to develop on the Virgin/Helio front.]]>
