Virgin Mobile to release prepaid wireless hotspot
June 24, 2010/
Virgin Mobile made a number of changes to its Broadband2Go plans. They have four plans that run from $10 for 100MB to $60 for 5GB. Those running the 5GB and even 1GB plans might have a new toy. Virgin will soon release the Novatel MiFi, a portable wireless hotspot. The device picks up the cellular data signal and broadcasts it as Wi-Fi, so multiple devices can access it. It’s not good for the lower plans, since laptops will easily gobble up those low usage caps, but it should work well for the bigger plans. The device will cost $149 and will be available on Monday, June 28 at Best Buy, Radio Shack and at Virgin Mobile’s website.]]>
