AT&T GoPhone adds unlimited talk and text plan

AT&T just got serious about unlimited prepaid. The company previously offered unlimited calling for $3 per day with its GoPhone service, but at roughly $90 per month it was far more expensive than competitors. Starting today, the plan will become more comprehensive and less expensive. The GoPhone unlimited plan will include unlimited voice, plus unlimited text, picture, and video messaging for $60. The plan, while still on the expensive end, brings AT&T in line with other prepaid unlimited carriers. Cricket, MetroPCS, and Boost Mobile all have slightly less expensive unlimited options, but customers might prefer AT&T’s nationwide network. AT&T also has a larger reach than the smaller companies, with only Boost coming close. The plan will be available starting Monday, October 12, at retail outlets and on AT&T’s website.]]>

$60 is a good price point for unlimited talk/text/pic-video-instant messaging /intl text to over 100 nations, but Att really needs to step up data offerings.
Granted its 100 meg plan is more then enough for the average 40-80 megs a month using non Iphone owner, but some people need more.

I am really pleased with the $60 unlimited so far. I tried boost and it would only work on a nextel network witch there aren’t any where I live. Gophone works anywhere. I am very happy.

when you send a message and have the unlimited talk and text does it always update your balance before and after every message?

I signed up for the unlimited nights and weekend plan, which is $19.99 for 30 days. What AT&T doesn’t mention that the $1.00 daily fee still kicks in so using this eveny weekend and night for 30 days is really $59.99.
