With the massive number of prepaid MVNOs and carrier options, it’s sometimes hard to keep track of it all and even harder to compare and decide which company is the right one for you. So, every once in a while we’re going to go through and do a Face-off of two popular companies, comparing plans and services to help you better decide. Today, we’ll look at Total Wireless, and Boom! Mobile. Total Wireless operates on Verizon’s network and Boom! Mobile has individual plans for Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint. It has been said that these MVNO’s have the best plans offered on Verizon’s network, so I thought we could out them head to head! Here’s how they compare:

Total Wireless – Plans range from $25 – $35

Total Wireless offers only two individual plans, one for $25 and one for $35, but also offers shared plans for up to four devices. You can view the full lineup of plans here.

Boom! Mobile – Plans range from $19.99 – $64.99

Boom Mobile offers quite a variety of individual plans, mostly on Verizon’s network, but with a few on T-Mobile and Sprint. Additionally, Boom offers family plans and data only plans. You can view the plans in detail here.

Unlimited Talk/Text  Is it offered? What is the lowest price?

Total Wireless – Yes, unlimited talk and text is included in all plans, starting at $25/month.

Boom! Mobile – Yes, unlimited talk and text is included in all plans here as well, starting at $19.99/month.

Data Ranges  What is the most and least data available?

Total Wireless – There is no data included in the $25 plan, and 5 GB included on the $35 plan. Shared plans have 8 GB, 12 GB, and 15 GB to be shared between 2, 3, and 4 devices, respectively.

Boom! Mobile – The $19.99/month plan includes 250 MB of data, working up to 7 GB of high speed data for $64.99/month. Add ons are available for purchase; 1 GB for $10, 2 GB for $14, and 5 GB for $30.

Pay-As-You-Go Rates  What are the pay-as-you-go per minute rates?

Total Wireless – N/A— no pay as you go options available.

Boom! Mobile – N/A— no pay as you go options available, though unlike most MVNO’s Boom does offer some post paid plans.

International Calling  What options are available? What does it cost?
