Boost introduces slimmest walkie-talkie
July 6, 2007/
Doesn’t it look purty? It’s less than a half-inch thick, so it’s not all big and clunky like many of the current phones Boost offers. And it’s just 3.9 ounces, so you can carry it in your pocket without your pants falling down (what, that never happened to you?). It runs on iDEN technology which, for the tech-jargon challenged (like us), means that it covers multiple communication media: phone, Internet, walkie talkie, etc. So you can get wireless Internet, SMS and MMS, AIM, Yahoo and MSN Messengers, GPS, ringtones, and Java-enabled games — all at a fee. So yeah, the phone is cheap on the surface — it’s just 60 buckaroos — but the monthly fees for all of those services will surely add up over time. But hey, it features “environmentally friendly packaging.” Does that mean that the case is made from recycled materials? Or that the box and packing materials are environmentally friendly? We’re not sure yet. But we like that it’s a neat looking prepaid phone that’s relatively cheap.]]>
