According to Mobile Syrup, Canadian MVNO Public Mobile has closed all of their brick-and-mortar retail outlets and shifted to a ‘self service’ model where consumers will need to top up their account online or via cards purchased at select locations. Phone support is also available. Originally launched in 2010, Public Mobile has gone through several changes before this most recent shift to online-only including selling most of their spectrum and subscribers to TELUS. Public Mobile is available to consumers living in Ontario or Quebec and offers two different plans, both with unlimited talk and one with unlimited text. Their website states that they do not offer data to new customers, but long distance can be purchased on a monthly basis to other parts of Canada, the US or overseas.
