Samsung Galaxy Edge Comes to Canada

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has drawn quite a bit of attention since it’s launch late last year in the United States, and I’m happy to announce that the phone has finally made its way to Canada and should be available  at Bell and Rogers on contract, or for around $900 outright. As you probably have noticed, what makes the Galaxy Note Edge so exciting is the unusual curved screen on the righthand side of the phone. This little side screen functions separate from the main screen, almost like a menu bar or a ticker for information. I’ve played around with the device very briefly and I have to say the look of the phone is pretty sleek, although I’m not 100% sure that the side screen is more than a shiny gimmick. Some reviewers have loved it, while others have not. I haven’t played with it enough to really have much of an opinion, so I’d love to hear some hands-on reader comments! Anyway, aside from the fancy dual screen, the device is packing the following hardware:
  • 5.6 inch AMOLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 + curved edge screen
  • Android 4.4 Kitkat OS
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805
  • Quad-core 2.7 GHz processor
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32 or 64 GB of memory
  • microSD slot, up to 128 GB
  • 16 MP back camera
  • 3.7 MP front camera
  • fingerprint scanner and pen stylus
  • Expected 18 hour talk time on a full charge
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has already been released in the United States, Europe, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Spain and Japan.]]>
