Last Minute Gift Ideas

I admit it: I’m a procrastinator. It is Christmas Eve and while I have all of my presents together (mostly) I haven’t wrapped a single one of them yet. My family normally does presents on the night of Christmas Eve too. Guess I’d better get on that. If you’re a procrastinator like me, or suddenly found out that someone you didn’t expect is going to be joining you for Christmas, you’re probably scrambling for a last minute gift. But never fear! Everyone has a phone nowadays, so try picking up one of these handy last-minute gifts. Trust me, you’ll look way more prepared than if you just forked over a gift card.
  1. Speakers – There are dozens of different choices for speakers that you can hook up to your phone or other device and blast out tunes. If you go with speakers, try and find some that use a headphone jack or, if you’re sure they have a newer phone, Bluetooth is always a good way to go and will make the gift seem less last-second.
  2. Headphones – Everyone uses headphones, no matter what kind of device you have. You can spend as much or as little as you want, but be aware that with headphones you pretty much get what you pay for to a certain point. You don’t have to spend $100, but don’t expect anyone to be excited about $10 headphones either.
  3. Phone Stand – There are a plethora of cute phone stands available at most phone kiosks in just about any mall, and I have even seen some in the electronics section of big box stores like Walmart or Target. Find one that isn’t designed for a specific phone.
  4. Portable Charger – These are not only pretty cheap, but can actually be pretty useful. Unless you know what kind of phone your recipient has, make sure you get one of the chargers that has multiple plug types. You can find these at most box stores, including Walmart or from electronics stores like Best Buy or Radioshack.
The best part about any of these gifts is it will LOOK like you actually thought about it a little bit. (Which, arguably is true if you’re researching on the internet.) Of course, if you’re really out of time or don’t know how tech-savvy your recipient is, you can never go wrong with chocolate and cocoa!]]>
