Cricket Expands International Calling Options

Cricket Wireless has announced an expansion of its international calling options with the addition of four new countries and a new international calling option. New countries added include Brazil, Singapore and Nigeria as well as Cuba, which is part of its own Cuba International add-on. According to the press release, customers who purchase the $5 international calling add-on will now be able to make unlimited landline calls and send unlimited texts to 38 countries, which now includes Brazil, Singapore and Nigeria. The Cricket International Extra plan, which costs $15, also includes unlimited MMS and 1,000 minutes of mobile-to-mobile calling. Singapore and Nigeria have been added to this list. Other countries that are part of the international calling add-ons include Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, Paraguay, South Africa, South Korea, Turky and the UK to name a few. You can find the full list here. Cricket has also followed the suit of several other postpaid and prepaid companies with the debut of a new Cuba calling plan for customers with the $50 or $60 monthly plans. This $15 add-on gives customers 15 minutes of talk time to a Cuban line. The Cuba calling add-on can be purchased as a monthly recurring fee or as a one-time add-on. Once the 15 minutes has been spent, customers can purchase additional time. Minutes, however, do not roll over to the next bill cycle. Cricket Wireless is owned by AT&T and runs on its GSM network. The company has plans ranging from $40 – $60 with $5 credits for bill pay. Cricket commonly has switcher promotions and offers both discounted phones and the ability to bring and activate your own unlocked GSM device.
