Cricket recalls the EZ phone

Cricket EZ, the carrier’s under-$100 phone, it’s time to send it back. The company has issued a recall on the phones due to issues with calls to 911. Apparently this is a software problem which can prevent the two ides from hearing one another. Any EZ owners can send the handset back to Cricket for a free repair. Thankfully, no one was hurt because of the glitch. The recall came after two reports, so it’s unknown if this affects all handsets or just some. But to be safe, send yours in for repair. Cricket would also like to remind customers — and I will certainly echo it — to not test calls to 911. That’s not good for anyone. Once the software is fixed, calls to 911 should work as normal, just as they do on any other cell phone.]]>

This cricket EZ phone is not worth anything. my daughter got one and 3 days later it wouldn’t charge. the inside of the phone was messed up. she didn’t do anything to it and they gave her another one but it messed up again. the same problem with it like the first one she got.

The cricket store did make it right for us. they replaced it with a better phone. the problem was the port for the charger inside the phone. two phones in 3 weeks did the same thing. there should be a recall.

If you just bought them, you should be fine, lourie.
