Cricket reverses losses in the fourth quarter

199,949 subscribers that Cricket lost last quarter? It started to recover them in the fourth quarter, as they added 115,000 subscribers, which actually helps offset the 111,000 they lost in the second quarter. That, combined with the 320,000 subscribers they gained from Pocket Communications, makes the year look a bit better. Another point of note: the company sold more than 400,000 Android handsets, which has to be promising as the company heads into 2011. In terms of churn, the company is down to 4 percent, which is a solid number for prepaid. In less good news, Cricket is going to delay its Muve Music service. It’s not a big delay, as it should launch in Las Vegas later this month, and should continue rolling out through the spring. ]]>

The reason the figures look better is that Cricket bought 320000 subscribers.
They lost out on organic growth to operators like Straight Talk. THis is worrying for the future.
