Cricket wins lawsuit, donates furniture
Cricket wireless. First, via Phone Scoop, we learn that the company has won an infringement case against a company called GSM Cellular. This seems pretty dumb on GSM’s part: they tried to pretend that they were affiliated with Cricket, using the logo and dubbing itself Kricket. Yeah, like no one’s going to catch onto that. In the age of instant information, that’s clearly going to bring a lawsuit, and GSM Cellular was clearly going to lose. It ended in summary judgment, which is basically saying that GSM Cellular is so clearly in the wrong that the trial need not proceed. Second, via the San Diego Union-Tribune, Leap Wireless, Cricket’s parent, has donated a bunch of furniture to local charities, schools, and other places in need. The furniture comes from an old office building, vacated last year. So good on them. We need more little news bits like this.]]>
