MetoPCS heads to Best Buy

MetroPCS phone, but don’t know where any retailers are in your area? Want to make an impulse prepaid phone buy? It’s just gotten easier to do both. Yesterday, the company announced that its handsets and service will be available at over 200 Best Buy retail locations. That’s a major plus for those in Metro’s 14 markets. It’s one more places you can pick up phones, services, and accessories. They’ve made it easy to activate Metro service at Best Buy, too. All you have to do is hit *228 after the purchase, and you should be on your way to unlimited calling, texting, and plenty of other services, all for a monthly flat rate. As with all Metro transactions, there is no contract to sign and no credit check to undergo.
“Best Buy Mobile will be a great expansion of our current distribution,” said Roger Linquist, president and CEO for MetroPCS Communications, Inc. “This is yet another example of how MetroPCS is committed to bringing affordable, flat-rate, unlimited wireless service to consumers.”While this does sound like a great deal, I’m really waiting for the first major complaint to come from this agreement. From reading Consumerist for the past few years, I’m familiar with grievances against Best Buy. This sounds too simple for even them to screw up, though…right?]]>
