T-Mobile’s prepaid brand
MetroPCS came out of the gate swinging today with a new offer that will surely turn heads. Starting right now, this company is offering customers unlimited talk, text and throttled data with 1 whole GB of high speed 4G LTE speeds for $30.
To put that in perspective, a similar contract plan with T-Mobile will easily run you closer to $70 per month while other prepaid carriers frequently hold the unlimited data to the $40 or higher plans. Personally, I’m not super impressed with T-Mobile’s network but this deal is still pretty excellent.
To offset this new promotion MetroPCS’s $40 and $50 plans are both temporarily getting data upgrades. Here’s what the
plan lineup looks like right now:
- $30 – unlimited talk, text, throttled data, 1 GB high speed
- $40 – unlimited talk, text, throttled data, 2 GB high speed
- $50 – unlimited talk, text, throttled data, 4 GB high speed
- $60 – unlimited talk, text, high speed data
The $30 plan is available to new and current customers, and all prices include taxes and regulatory fees. Customers can bring their own compatible devices to take advantage of this promotion or purchase a new phone through MetroPCS.
It is worth noting that this $30 plan is a promotion, and does not have a listed end date so if you’re wanting to get in on it, I would definitely take advantage of the plan before it’s gone. It’s unclear whether customers will be grandfathered if T-Mobile decides to stop offering this deal, but generally the company is pretty decent about that.
