MetroPCS bringing TV to smartphones
January 5, 2012/
MetroPCS made an exciting announcement along these lines. Later this year they’ll begin offering live TV on their Android handsets. This seems like a perfect fit for an LTE network. Streaming services is a huge draw, and MetroPCS has the means to deliver it. They expect two of the basic broadcast networks, FOX and NBC, plus a number of other media entities — 15 broadcast groups in total, for a whopping 72 stations. That will surely bring people to MetroPCS and their Android LTE phones. What’s even better: MetroPCS has long said that they’ll start adding many more LTE handsets in the second half of 2012. These two developments could coincide nicely. ]]>
