MetroPCS expands footprint in NY-Metro area
Boost Mobile and MetroPCS. Metro, the new kid in town, is advertising its services for the first time, while Boost is trying to push its own brand of unlimited. In fact, one thing they hit in their ads is that their customers, unlike those of Metro, can travel outside of the city with their phones. For a while that was true, but Metro has taken measures to correct that bug. They’ve recently announced the expansion of their service area to cover North Central Jersey, a densely populated region, Stamford and Bridgeport in Connecticut, plus three regions in New York: White Plains, New Rochelle, and Long Island. Not only does this open up more markets in which Metro can operate, but it makes it more attractive for people in the region to carry one. Before, if you left New York City then having a MetroPCS phone would not make much sense. Now with the expanded coverage people who have family in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Long Island can enjoy Metro’s unlimited service without worrying about coverage in those areas. I’m not familiar with Metro’s plans, but I would be on the lookout for an expansion of their Boston network in the near future. Working a similar one to New York would allow them to join the two Northeast powerhouse markets as one contiguous network. If they can work that into an expansion of the Philly and Baltimore/D.C. markets, and that gives them a solid contiguous network. I don’t know if it’s technically feasible, but it’s certainly a development which would help Metro.]]>
I am a strong believer in Net10. The net10 coverage area is very wide as they use some of the other providers towers in some areas. so signal is always around.. especialy if your traveling. Have a look at the coverage map http://www.net10.com
While net10 may not have as much advertising, it is the great deals and reasonable prices that make Net10 such a promising brand.
