MetroPCS launches Huawei M750

How long does it take a phone to go from FCC approval to a carrier’s shelf? That depends on the model, but for the Huawei M750, which we learned about in May, it has taken nearly six months. But, lookie lookie, the device has finally launched at MetroPCS.com. As we mentioned in May, the device features a touch screen with virtual keyboard, a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, and Bluetooth. It’s another unsubsidized model, of course, so be prepared to shell out for it: $199. ]]>

so has anyone taken the gamble and actually bought this Huawei M750?? It looks cool, but 1. It’s Chinese, and 2. no website I have seen so far actually has a “demonstration” of it’s features or has any reviews on it yet. I really want one if it’s decent. I don’t get on the internet very often now, and Metro’s browser isn’t the greatest anyway, but if it plays videos (youtube) and I can actually moniter my ebay…then that’s all I need.

Heard from Metro Rep that the M750 does NOT have html – so sad!

Ok, if you are looking for a touchscreen phone that looks expensive, then this is the route to go. It doesn’t support html, but with the correct plan does offer unlimited web access. If you are looking for a phone that is more like the iPhone, by AT&T then you would be better off with the recently released Caliber. It offers full HTML browser plus TONS of Widgets! and cool and fun features. Please note: Anyone that had a Metro phone with the Smartplan, should call customer service and ask to be upgraded to the 2010 $50 Smartphone plan. There are some added features that are available through this plan that were not offered on the previous plan, like stream line video. Hope this helps and enjoy your phone!
