MetroPCS picks up Handmark's Pocket Express
December 4, 2008/
MetroPCS customer, you’ll get a chance to see what I’m talking about. They’ve inked a deal with Handmark, makers of Pocket Express, to bring the service to their customers.
“We are excited to see mobile providers like MetroPCS leading the way in adopting new technology and helping its customers discover new ways to use their phones,” said Paul Reddick, Handmark CEO. “We were pleased to work together with MetroPCS to enhance their customers’ mobile experience by delivering a fast, simple way to access the latest news, sports, weather, and more in one place.”The difference here is that while I tested Pocket Express on my BlackBerry, this is available to a number of consumer devices on MetroPCS’s BREW platform. So you can get it on your plain old RAZR if you want. I’m not sure how they’re going to work this at Metro, but for BlackBerry Pocket Express is a freemium product. This means that basic features, like news and weather, are available for free, while features like entertainment and travel are on a pay basis. Still, getting news and weather for free is a nice perk for MetroPCS customers.]]>

Awesome, I love Pocket Express & I’m on Metro PCS
Just tried it out, works great! Real world situation, needed to pick a movie at a restaurant and we used Pocket Express to find it for us.
Similar experience with me and the mapping/directions function in pocket express.
Transformative. With Pocket Express, Metro is moving past the voice/sms paradigm.
The font is too small on my Kyocera E1100 phone.
I have the Metro Finesse and it is WAY better then that other program, “My Extras” This program has news, weather, important things, not “random facts” and useless info. LOVE IT
