MetroPCS's chair back in the driver's seat
December 17, 2007/
It seems we missed this one from late late last week. MetroPCS CEO and Chairman of the Board Roger Linquist is back on staff and is working full-time. He had been absent for an unknown amount of time (we searched high and low, and couldn’t find for how long) for health reasons. He is now reportedly better and ready enough to handle his duties with the company. COO Thomas Keys had been running the day-to-day operations in Linquist’s absence. From Linquist:
“I would like to thank Thomas Keys, who will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer, for his leadership during this time. We have built a unique business focused on providing unlimited wireless communications services and I am proud of our accomplishments to date. I look forward to continuing to grow MetroPCS and building on our successes.”He’s going to have to get cracking. Rival Leap Wireless is making strides seemingly every day, and we all know how Boost Unlimited is rolling out heavily. We’re actually kind of excited to see Boost’s subscriber numbers vs. Metro’s subscriber numbers for the fourth quarter. Metro’s stock climbed 7 percent on Friday in reaction to this news.
