Metro Offers Extra Data to Switchers

Well, it looks like the price war continues this week with a host of new promotion launched by MetroPCS for customers looking to switch from a non T-mobile carrier. All of the promotions are available between now and September 30, 2015 and require customers to purchase a handset, port a number and keep accounts in good standing. Here are the promotions:

• Galaxy Core Prime Switcher Rebate : Purchase a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime TM handset and receive a $50 instant rebate when you port your number. Limit is 5 per household and the rebate is given in the form of a credit against the cost of the device. Offer available in stores only.
• Bonus Data Offer : When you purchase a MetroPCS handset, port in a number and activate it on a $40 or higher plan, customers will receive an additional 1 GB of data per month every month for as long as the account stays in good standing. Only available in stores.
• Phone Upgrade Rebate : Purchase a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime and receive an instant $80 rebate off of the regular purchase price. This offer is only available with a new line activation or a phone upgrade. Instant rebate is given in the form of a discount on the original phone price. Limit 5 per household. Only available in stores.

MetroPCS is owned by T-Mobile and, obviously, runs on T-Mobile’s network. The prepaid company has plans ranging from $30 – $60 and LTE is supported on compatible phones. The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime featured in two of the promotions is a midrange LTE smartphone which retails at $129.99 before any discounts or rebates.
