OnePlus One Phones Available to Public

oneplus one holiday

OnePlus One is, arguably, one of the best low-cost phones on the market right now. However, it doesn’t really get all that much press because in order to even get one, you have to be invited by someone who already has one. You gotta know people, you know? Seems a little bit of an odd way to do business, but it certainly has pushed demand for what otherwise might be lost in the sea of midrange phones. However, late yesterday I saw that OnePlus is doing a holiday promotional event where you can purchase this phone without an invitation. I am under the impression that the phone will be unlocked, but make sure you double check that and check compatibility with your MVNO before you buy. From what I can gather from OnePlus’ forums and the bandwiths, this phone is compatible with: AT&T, Consumer Cellular, Cricket, Net10, Red Pocket, Straight Talk, T-Mobile, Lycamobile, MetroPCS and Simple Mobile. However, I have not confirmed that those companies will allow activation (although I don’t know why they wouldn’t) so make sure you double check before you buy! Supplies are limited, and OnePlus is guaranteeing that the phones will arrive before Christmas, so if you’re wanting to give one for a Christmas gift, then you’re in luck! There are two options available: a 16 GB white phone for $299 or a 64GB black phone for $349. Both phones have some pretty sweet specs:
• Android 4.4 (cyanogen mod 11S)
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5 GHz quad-core processor
• 5.5 inch screen (gorilla glass 3)
• 13 MP camera
• 5 MP front camera
• 4G LTE compatibility
• NFC/GPS
The phone has a range of cool features like voice awake and the clean look of cyanogen as well but, unfortunately, does not have a SD card slot or a removable battery. It might be a deal breaker for some, but if those features don’t matter that much to you, then you should definitely take a look at this phone. Visit OnePlus’ website for more information.]]>
