Beyond Wireless offers the industry a Jolt

Beyond the rewards, the rates are super-low, too. The press release and company website say 7 cents per minute, which is just a steal in today’s industry. However, experiences makes us skeptical here. You might be able to get rates as low as 7 cents per minute, but you might have to buy a very expensive airtime card — with the minutes quickly expiring — to attain that rate. After visiting the website of Jolt! Mobile, we think that might be the case. In fact, though nothing explicitly says it, we think that the 7 cents per minute rate is based on a certain level of rewards. The regular Jolt! rates range from 16.7 cents per minute ($5 for a 30-minute card) down to 9.9 cents ($100 for a 1014-mnute card). The folks at Beyond Wireless are, uh, a little excited about this new business model. And they’re not above tooting their own horns, in case you were wondering.

COO Richard Stupansky Jr says: “The idea is simply genius! We spent a lot of time in the think-tank on this one and I believe it shows. The program is automatic, easy and highly competitive in today’s marketplace.”
It’s genius until people start complaining about being screwed over with the rewards program, or even that the rewards are too difficult to attain. Pardon our cynicism, but with an idea presented like this, we’ve learned to exercise caution. The service is available in a limited market now, with a full release scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. [California Newswire] [Beyond Wireless]]]>

Hey! I’ve checked this out and the it actually IS 7 cents per minute. The website is http://www.joltrewards.com. The Jolt Mobile that you talk about is a different product that they’ve had out for a while now. It doesn’t seem to be linked to Jolt Rewards other than in the name. The Rewards are surprisingly easy too. They are just rolling in without me referring anyone. A customer service rep told me that you get a certain number of automatic referrals so that you don’t have to tell anyone, but if you do you increase your referrals and the rewards come in that much faster.

I’ve been a member of Jolt Wireless since 2006 & now Jolt Rewards since it’s inception in August of 2007. The 7 cents per minute is correct. However, you have to pay a 49 cent per day charge in order to get the 7 cents rate (12 cents for international).
With a Fiance in Brazil, it has been a godsend for the rate & I have even upgraded my phone with the service.
Matter of fact, I just got a 15 dollar rate reward today!
