Simple Mobile, a T-Mobile MVNO owned by America Movil, has made some pretty significant changes to data on several of its plans, including offering unlimited at one of the to-date best pricing in the industry. Provided you don’t mind going with a Tracfone company, that is.
Here is what the plan options on the Simple Mobile website look like right now (changes in
bold):
- $25 – Unlimited talk and text, 1 GB data (formerly no data)
- $40 – Unlimited talk and text, 4 GB data
- $50 – Unlimited talk, text, and data (formerly 5 GB)
- $60 – Unlimited talk, text, and data with 8 GB hotspot
Simple Mobile plans have a handful of additional features including roaming in mexico, unlimited international text, and a discount for signing up for their autorenew program. Taxes and fees, unfortunately, are not included in the quoted price.
The most interesting and exciting change has to be the $50 unlimited data—easily the cheapest price for unlimited data that I am aware of outside of T-Mobile’s MVNO MetroPCS. In fact, if you look at the $50 and $60 plans, they are almost exactly the same as what MetroPCS is offering. That’s a pretty sweet deal for Simple Mobile customers.
In comparison, other companies, including Sprint and AT&T, tend to have their unlimited data plans at right around $60, while Verizon’s unsurprisingly is more like $80 (ouch).
All in all, this is an excellent move on behalf of Simple Mobile, and I’m excited to see if this means that other TracFone carriers are going to get some pretty sweet deals as well. Either way, it’s nice to see that the changes are for the better.
Simple Mobile does allow customers to activate their own compatible devices and it has a variety of other services and features. For more information on this deal or to sign up for a Simple Mobile plan, visit the
