Straight Talk announces LG Optimus Q

Click for larger It appears that Straight Talk is just getting started with Android handsets. They recently released the LG Galaxy Precedent, and now are readying another one. Via their Facebook page we learn about the LG Optimus Q. It’s identical to the LG Optimus Slider, which Virgin Mobile will shortly release. That means that, like the Precedent, the Optimus Q will run on the Sprint network. It’ll be a tick cheaper, though, at $179.99. You can reserve yours at Straight Talk’s website. Via PhoneNews.com.]]>

So if this runs on Sprints network, is there any reason not to just get it on Virgin for $10/month cheaper?

When will Straighttalk release an Android on Verizon Network? The Verizon Network is totally better than Sprint and AT&T

they will never release an ANDROID ON VERIZON !!! cause is a bunch of IDIOTS…they won’t offer prepaid on ANDROID PHONES..thats what i just read…thats VERIZON FOR YA…they want you to get a plan and spend $100.00 a month

Releasing smartphones on Sprints network is pointless. I have the samsung galaxy precedent and have no coverage anywhere because sprint is terrible. I don’t get what they’re doing.

@Clock Beside the fact that the phone is $20 cheaper on StraightTalk, it wouldn’t be $10 cheaper on Virgin-it would be $10 more. Virgin’s $35 plan only includes 300 minutes, and charges extra for 411 calls. Their $55 plan is the equivalent of ST’s $45 unlimited plan. Also, virgin is going to be cutting back their unlimited data to 2.5 GB in the near future.

Do any of you know what the FCC ID is for this phone? I need it in order to obtain its SAR rating.

I know, I just bought my son the same phone on the sprint network, and it is not good at all. He never has all the bars full for a signal, only 1 maybe 2 bars fulls and the signal keeps going out.

Tried T-Mobile Family pln the 45.00 plan.
Was told it was just like Straight talks 45.00 plan my husband has. NOT SO!!! You only get talk and text! They gave 90 days free Data that did not work. Everytime I tried “Error” blinks in. After 2 hrs at the side of the road and trying to reach home only to get “911 emergency only” signal I wanted to throw the phone out the window!!! Bad phone VERY BAD SERVICE and CUSTOMER SERVICE? You might as well be talking to a wall, you’d get better care, after getting home and calling from my home phone, Im told that I can cancel before the 30 days for a FEE! A FEE FOR THEIR LOUSY SERVICE AND A POOR WORKING PHONE! A phone I had less than two weeks!!!! What does it take to get good service and a quality product? The I-Phone is Great but then you have AT&T, Sprint an GOOD OL’ VERIZON might as well do business with a corner dealer, you just might get a better deal and could they be any more honest? ANGRY? ME ? YOU BET AND ALL I WANTED WAS A WORKING CELL PHONE.
