Net10/Tracfone sucks. Pure and simple. I owned a Tracfone for several months and kept getting collection calls for Maria. Worst of all, the Caller ID read ‘Mal Darvin' whenever I called anyone.I contacted Tracfone and after waiting an hour for someone to take the call I was informed that the problem wasn't with Tracfone but the Caller ID of the people receiving the calls!I let the plan expire and went out and bought a Net10 phone, not realizing it was the SAME COMPANY as Tracfone.I went to activate the phone on-line and they gave me an area code out of town. I called to get the number changed. Three hours on the phone with them over three days and they never could make the phone ring with the new number! So I took it back and got a full refund from the store.NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH TRACFONE OR NET10. NEVER!

I've had a Net10 phone for about 3.5 months now and I'm decently satisfied. I'm not a huge talker so for now, the price is right. I have a motorola w377. the phone itself is AWFUL. The battery goes dead in less then 3 days, the signal is terrible and phone is very slow overall which makes texting a chore. I think if had purchased a different phone I would be a little more happy. Luckily I haven't had to call customer service. If my phone dies or something else gets messed up, hopefully I'll be a little more financially stable to afford a provider with a better phone selection and customer service reputation so I can just ditch Net10…… If you're in a pinch and know how to ration your minutes net10 is great. BUT, If you talk and text like crazy or use your phone for work and need reliable customer service then go with another wireless provider.

I think I have most of you beat. I have had a 2 Net-10 Phones for 2 years and had loved it. Never had a problem and love it. All of a sudden my cell went bad (Only 6 months old) so I called CS. I spent 3 hours entering numbers and codes and removing the battery. They finally told me that my SIM cad was bad and would be sending a new one. A week later nothing, I called again and was assured that they could fix it and they would send a sim card. The next day my phone would last only about 4 hours before it would die from a full charge then the screen started flashing. I waited a week for the new sim card hoping it would be fixed. nothing arrived. I called again and spend 3 hours with CS and they said they would send me a new phone. I againg waited a week for it to arrive. Called again they tell me that they had a problem sending it but are sending it now. Another week later I still dont have anthything. I am currently on the phone with them and they are now not wanting to send me a new phone that is under warranty. They want to send updates to the phone. Not sure how this will play out………I will let you all know…

Poor customer service. First, they have problem with activating my number. I called in to activate and it took 45 minutes to finish the whole process. Then I asked to activate the international long distance. They told me it'll be ready in 72 hours. I waited 3 days and it's not ready. So I called again, they said they fixed it this time and it'll be ready in 72 hours. It's still not ready in 72 hour. So I have to call again! They told me to wait another 72 hours… it was finally ready after 3 times of calling. Then I had to change my number. Once it was changed, the international long distance stopped working and I had to call again to activate. I have called twice already and it's still not working when I write this review. I don't know what happens to this company. But the customer service reps don't know what they're doing. Things didn't get done most of the time. When I changed my number, they did't tell me that my voice mail password is also changed so I couldn't access my voice mail. Stay away from Net10 if you don't want to waste time in dealing with their reps.

Warning! Phone service is great if you don't need to talk to someone in customer service. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I've been trying for two weeks to get an old phone number transferred to my Net10 and have talked to countless non-native English speaking people, given them all the same information AND THEY STILL CAN'T GET THIS DONE! Net10 must be so inexpensive because they are using people in India, but please charge a little more and give U.S. people jobs and provide better service to customers.

I could barely understand the two customer services rep that I spoke to. I was also on the phone with them for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and they still could not get the air time added. The phone still does not work and I will be contacting another service.

I have used Net 10 since 2006, am a very lite minutes user, thus I believe I had 8000+ minutes. Night of 08/02/10, my phone lost everything, went back to a old looking screen saver, had 01/01/01 and 0.0 minutes. I spent 45+ minutes the next day on a friends phone trying to solve problem. Final answer was to buy a new phone. When I got back home later in the week, sent a couple of e-mail's, finally got an answer to one which instructed me to call. After on the phone from approx 6:00 PM until 9:30 PM and mostly on hold or inputing lots of code, they first could only add 5000 of my minutes, then after talking to a supervisor he came up with 7274.50 on 30 Jul. That is still way short, I have all of my purchased cards or at least most of them that adds up to over 8300 minutes. The event is still not completed, the old phone has the 5000 minutes, they are sending me a sim card to put in another phone and will then supposedly add the 7274.50 minutes that is still short. But after reading other's comments looks like the new sim card may also be an experience. I asked for a report of my used minutes, thus I could have a better feel for the actual minutes I should still have. Have to send a can't remember if they said notarized or certified letter to them requesting this info. I was looking at their new phones with the web access, but after this experience, not sure I will proceed with that thought. Their low rating from me is totally from customer service, I cannot imagine with today's technology, why you would have to be on the phone with anyone for 5+ hours to rectify a problem. Guessing, either they are unbelievable incompetent or they are putting you on hold alternating you with 100 other calls and hoping you will just go away. Good Luck with Net 10, again my low rating is totally due to customer service, the folks were nice, just for ‘some reason' too slow. If you do not have good customer service, what do you have?? From my very limited new technology mind, we should be able to just give them our phone # and serial # a screen should appear with all of our data, they can then send out a signal to determine if the phone is truly defective, then advise or reset, 10 minutes maybe, 1 hour totally unacceptable, 5 hours absurd!!! A company without fair and excellent customer service is doomed to fail.

my phone was working fine until a few days ago, but suddenly stopped working. I e-mailed them, they said I had to call the rep to rectify the situation. First time I waited for 10 minutes, the person on the other end said she was going to speak to her supervisor so stay on the line, but I got cut off. I called again, waited 10 minutes, spoke to someone else (all this time there is an annoying sound on the line which makes it even more difficult to understand), who tried a few things that didn't solve the problem. She then tells me that the phone is not working, the warranty is no longer good so I have to purchase a new phone. I still have 52 days and 1130 minutes left, but I'm not going to buy another phone from them.

Yesterday, I began the process (online) to port another number to my Net10 phone. Now my Net10 phone is dead. After waiting a long wait, a customer service (?) rep. told me (in broken English) my cell number deactivated the second I placed the port request. There was nothing on the website warning me this would happen. Now I have no cell until the transfer is complete – up to 7 days! The rep. got mad at me because I did not call them first before porting my number online. She said that she would have warned me that my phone would deactivate had I called her first. When I asked her why this was not stated on the website, she had no answer. I then asked her to run my port ticket number as their website showed that it was not in their system. She said that their system is ‘down' for the next 24 hours. Just checked…their website just went down. Poorest customer service I have ever seen.

New phone quit working same day I bought it. I activated it online with no problem. Worked OK for a few hours. Called customer service (3 times). Each time they has me on the phone for over an hour, mostly on ‘hold' while they ‘updated my account in their system' and then while they ‘talked to other departments to verify'. It was real obvious that none of them knew what they were doing. Also it was extremely hard to understand any of them with their broken English. Very very POOR service. Won't use them EVER again. This is a warning (OK, caution) to all!

I have been with Net10 for a very long time and have been through most of their phones and I always get 5 bars and have never had a dropped call. I recently got the Freeform R355C, according to their website it would take up to 10 days to port my Net10 phone number to my new Net10 phone, it took less than 4. I do agree about the customer service, I have had issues with not being charged the correct amount of air time for text, but if you speak clearly and don't get pissy with them the call will go smoothly, and if you can not under stand them ask nicely to speak to someone who speaks better English and your issue will be fixed. They are in the Philippines and English is a second language for them.

Phone works good when you get it working. I transfered my time and my min.and number to a new phone a few times And your on the phone with someone that can not speak english for hours, when all they had to do was send you a email with the code , what a waste of time. Their phone center must be in Mexico or South America cause they sure cant speak english. Still Waiting again!

I find the program to be a total'rip off'. I currently have over 900 minutes available, but cannot use them without buying more minutes as my ‘days' have expired. I refuse to buy more minutes, when I already have 900, so my phone is absolutely of no use and I might as well just throw it out. Sounds like a sure fire money making deal for Net 10, but woe the customer. A phone call to Net 10 is of no use, as you can only speak with the tech who answers, and even though I repeatedly asked to speak with her manager, was not transferred. Will never buy this product again, and will so advise all who will listen…do not buy net 10 product.

I always have reception with this phone! I am from Chicago and I have been able to use this phone on the subway and had a conversation without the call dropping. With my old phone, I was lucky if I was able to get a text while on the platform, but once on the train, the signal was gone. The phones are pretty standard, nothing special (at least the one I bought), but the minutes are cheap and easy to use and I always have service. I am very happy with my Net10 phone and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable phone that is easy to use. I really don't understand the negative reviews. :/ Good luck though.

I chose Net 10 after some careful review of their service and phone. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I sent away for an LG phone that also was rated highly. Absolutely nothing happened without calling their service center. I activated the phone and was promised a phone number in one hour. Never happened and I had to call Net10. After being read long strings of code, I finally acquired a phone number. I thought I was ready to go. Not a chance–no service, could not make a call, could not receive a call. Back to the Call Center and more reading of codes. Eventually, the person on the other end asked me to open up the phone, take out the battery, and remove the Sim. When I read the Sim number to him, he said someone had installed the wrong Sim in my phone and they would have to send me the correct one. This meant another four-day wait. I installed the new Sim, which erased the names and numbers I had installed. Still no service. Back to the Call Center and the phone reception from them was terrible. I was given more codes and then transferred to another department. More codes and attempts followed and finally I had a new number and allegedly a working phone. After hanging up, I started making calls. The lag time between pushing the send button and the phone starting to ring was really long. My test call to a friend was dreadful–dropped out twice and she said she could barely hear me and I was outside on my patio at the time. The next day I decided to experiment and went for a drive. Sometimes there was reception, sometimes not. I finally got through on a long distance call to the west coast. My friend said I sounded as though I was underwater. Another said she could not understand anything I saying. I tried several times to make an International call with no success. I packaged up the phone and mailed it back to Net10 and now await my refund. I live in a city and have never had any reception problems with my month-by-month cell phone. Thank goodness I did not cancel the service on that. I spent hours on the phone with this company and all for nothing. How Net10 has a four-star rating is a mystery to me.

With Net10, you only pay $.10 a minute and they sell the Net10 minute cards everywhere. I buy mine at the local walmart. The cards are super simple to use and the phones are great. If you are looking to get on a cheap phone plan that doesn't require a contract and is easy to use, I highly suggest trying out Net10.

200 min cards have been recalled don't buy them..also I cannot load a card without assistance, when entering the numbers is states that the pin is invalid then I have to listen to an Indian for 45 min and my bp goes up,,back to tracfone for me.

I like this carrier already even though I just signed up. Ported my number with minimum fuss within a few hours and already I'm enjoying the benefits of clearer signal reception. Their rates are good and I love my new Samsung t401! Here's hoping this will be a long and happy relationship with NET10.

Okay, so I bought another NET10 phone today. After a very brief stint trying out Virgin I am very happy to be back on the NET10 service. The better coverage means so much and if you think NET10's CS is lacking (I do too) then rest assured VM isn't any better. At least my NET10 works and works well! More than I say of VM.
Consumer Review
NET10 is a great find if you're looking for a decent prepaid provider and don't want to spend too much. They keep their rates low and provide a quality service. Despite some CS issues they are still very much worth a try. I was especially pleasantly surprised by their good signal strength in my home – a place known to be ‘iffy' with many cell phones.

Had the phone for 6 months without any issues. Suddenly got ‘Unsupported SIM' error. Spent 45 min. with Customer Rep in Philippines. Said they would send me a new SIM card, then put me on hold for 10 more minutes to get my info. Hate to waste so much time for a cheap prepaid phone.I had T-mobile prepaid, before this and never had any such issues.
Consumer Review
Best prices and best network coverage for low usage. Phones are the cheapest – I regularly see ones for $10 – and you can keep phones active for very little money. Although their phones are very basic models they work well enough for dialing and texting. I am a Tracfone fan thru & thru!
Consumer Review
If you are looking for a second phone for emergency use only, when you are not at home, then it makes sense to pay a close relative $10 to get you a second (and free) phone from Verizon or any other wireless company. They will track your minutes, and you can reimburse your relative for only minutes used. (Calls to your relative are free). If you find you want to chat with a bunch of folks not using the same wireless service, then you can reconsider and buy your own service. Otherwise, depending on your relative's situation, you can just pay them for your actual time.

This company is an absolute rip off. Customer service is the worst you can imagine. Phone is fine, but if you ever need help, GOOD LUCK! Spent 7-8 hours on the phone to fix simple airtime issue and still never to my satisfaction. I will never use this company ever again!!

I spent over 1.5 hours on tech support and they finally said my sim card was bad and they will send another in 5 days.

My NET10 phone is my ‘travel phone'. The nationwide coverage is the reason I much rather take the NET10 phone than my contract phone. I route calls to it or keep it for emergencies. I don't load it with too many minutes at a time and I always buy the most basic model I can find – often for as little as $25. They all come with $30 worth of minutes anyway so it's like the phone is subsidized. If I don't use it for a few months and the airtime window runs out I just buy a new one, very convenient. All in all, I find the service to be VERY reliable.

wish I had seen the reviews….bought a 29.99 Lg phone at Walmart..seemed like a good deal, they activated it , gave us the number..all seemed well…tried to teach my daughter how to use the phone, dial out, you cant , it says emergeny only…called customer service, call got transferred 4 times, hung up on once and I typed in more codes and numbers and it still doesnt work…I was on my landline for over an hour and they think there system is down…check back in 48 hours ok???? morons!!!! I told them sure I'll check back in 48 hours and then its going back and I will go with a much better carrier…this phone is for my autistic daughter, it has to work!

Ok so I tried a few prepaid carriers and it was a relief to stumble upon NET10. Finally, a prepaid carrier that actually has decent network coverage AND low pricing. It see,s in this country they expect you to choose between the two. You can have good coverage on the major carriers but they rip you on the prices – daily fees, wtf!? Or you get low per-minute rates on some little prepaid carrier and you lose signal as soon as you drive a few miles. NET10 is the solution! Best blend of low pricing + good network.

transferred an old net10 phone to a new 1 on 7/16. net10 assigned me a new number instead. after 16 hrs on the phone, most on hold, sent me a new sim card. installed it, number transferred, but no service. now sending me new sim card. 18 hrs on phone, 7/24. no phone service since 7/16. won't buy back phone and minutes.

While 10 cents per call seems like a good deal, having to purchase airtime in 200-minute increments with only 30 days to use them is tough. Also, I don't like the 38 cent charge assessed for some kind of Fire/Police fund every time an airtime card is purchased.

transferring 995 minutes from old phone to new phone, was a disaster, records lost 895 minutes, got new phone number 3 times, all 3 numbers belonged to other people, do not use net 10, cust. service is horrible, talk to philipines, and be on the phone for hours

I love my net10 phone. I've never had customer service problems (knock on wood), even when I requested my old cell number. I'm not a big cell phone user and love the fact I never loose minutes I've bought. My advice, don't buy Net10 phones in a store unless you check Net10 site online to see which phone works in your area. I wanted a fancy phone, which I have now. It’s not the best for my area, but the website told me that. I’ve bought the cheap ones in the past, and they actually work the best.

I really cannot believe all the bad reviews here, however I can believe thecustomer service part-it is all going to hell these days! If I ever have a problem I will be done, do not have time to mess with that crap!Anyhoo, I have had my Net10 basic $20.00 LG phone for over a year now, nodropped calls, AWESOME battery life, quik to charge; so if you want to go with Net10 buy the cheapest phone, buy minutes from the store and rock on.IF you want a fancy smancy phone, do not buy prepaid, you get what you pay for right….so with any prepaid phone you get: SIMPLE phone,SIMPLE minutes, if you keep it simple I think it willserve you well.

This is the worst customer service in the world! I have had numerous problems with the service, which I could live with, if anyone in their customer service can actually understand what your problem is.Summary of problems:*charged for auto min. and didn't get them-2 hrs to resolve* auto mins wasn’;t fixed as promised, so next month spent addl 2 hrs resolving issue.*Bought a different phone,a nightmare getting my old no. transferred to my new phone–finally had to do it myself online.*Tried to add mins. from my phone-realized my card was expired. Went online and added my checking acct. to eliminate card problem. after 5 tries mins. were added. Imagine my shock when I saw my checking acct was charged for 4 failed attempts to add mins. They made the charge but no mins. were added. Two wks. later I am still trying to resolve the problem. Emails to customer service get convuluted answers that don't address the problem. Most of the time the phone customer service is too busy–call back later. When you call back later they don't understand the problem. The phone service is fine, the customer service is -5 stars. Also, do not buy an LG 6oo it is junk!I could type for hours and never be able to express my frustration with this company. Use Net 10 at your own risk!!!

If I could give Net 10 no Star I would. After giving the Trac Fone company and it's subsidiaries money for the last few years I was told I would not get refunded 44.2 units that I should not have been charged when I bought a Net 10 phone that was only supposed to use .3 units per text while I was charged .5 units per text. Trac Fone, Net 10 and Straight Talk will never see an ounce of business from me again as I wasted 3 days on the phone over the course of a week only to not get the issue resolved and told that I will not be refunded the difference in units for their mistake

Net 10 provides no phone service in my home. I have to walk 1/4 mile to get any service. Spent an hour on the phone with their tech dept., and they recommended a phone that would work. I use Net10, currently with the LG300G phone, and am very happy with their service (clear calls; no drop calls) and the very low cost (10 cents per minute ‘standard' price and even lower with the 600 or 900 airtime cards, for $45 and $60, respectively, plus the new prices for the ‘;Easy Minutes' (these offers on their website only). I wish they had a better variety of phones and improve their customer service. Hopefully soon. A tip on customer service: if you speak Spanish or know someone that does, call on the Spanish line. Since it is their native language they can understand the customer and vice versa.

I have samsungT401G, happy with ability of phone. New at texting and wireless, but works for my usage of texting fine. Comparing it to tracfones, which I've always had, I can't give it more than 4 stars. The signal on a tracfone is unbeatable. When they finally produce a querty phone I'll swithch back as soon as possible.

Voice mail should be 10cents a min. or free? My cell phone charges $1.00 per min. WHY? I don't want voice mail and want to eliminate this. Also, want phone to ring 5 times. Now it goes right to voicemail after 1 ring.

When it works it is fine for what it is, inexpensive mobile phone service. When you have an issue watch out. They sent me a new sims card but didn't tell I was getting a new number. I discovered this a few days later. I spoke with someone, had emails from them and rec'd paperwork with the sims. Don't you think at in one of these communications they would have let me know it would be a new number. Now there is a double charge. When I bought minutes for the original # there was an issue. That is why they sent me a new sims card. Now they won't send me a refund for the original minutes I purchased. I am not allowed to speak to a supervisor and the person on the phone just keeps repeating the same lines from a script.

I hate cell phones. But… need one when traveling. I got a NET10 phone for $30, including phone, 300 minutes and 60 days. (you can get more with re-conditioned). I've done this twice now, have used the phone in New York, Las Vegas, San Diego, a small town near Cleveland Ohio and numerous connecting airports. Worked like a charm. Bars everywhere. Now, I don' know what people expect for 30 bucks, but I think IT CAN'T BE BEAT. (And yes, I had an old NET10 phone that I re-activated on line, no problem. Never called customer service.) So, they get my vote.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SRVC!!!!!! I felt like I was reading my problem over & over on the other reviews, but someone else typed it. Now told they are sending a 3rd SIM card, then if it doesn't wk will send a new phone, seriously?? That was after being on the phone no less than an hour each time. Also, talked to whatever a Sup is there. If I currently wasn't out 2500 min, I would just say screw it. But this will be the last time I deal with them!

The customer service is terrible with net10. I've been a customer for over 6 yrs. and not only did they NOT give me my 6 yr. phone number back when up-dating my phone, but they used up 14 days of my service date trying to ‘fix' the problem. Which was never fixed. I have 24 minutes of time left and when it's gone, I'm going to another carrier. I've had it with net10 and their lousy service. Oh, and I could never understand the person I had to deal with. Time and again I had to ask for someone I could understand.

I had to keep asking her to repeat the number codes I had to put in and there were many of them. The problem was resolved but it took a while. I think she had to keep looking to see what to do next and I had to keep asking if she was still there. My last phone lasted 4 years and I only updated because texting is much easier with the slider and it cost less. Only time will tell if the phone lasts as long as the last one. I have to wonder reading all these comments if Net 10 even looks to see if customers are satisfied with their CS. I don't think so because most complaints are all the same….trouble understanding what CS was saying!

I don't like this service what so ever. The service sucks. When you do purchase a phone card and try to put the min. on your phone the phone tells you that it is disabled and you cant receive text messages or phone calls.(lol but you can play games on your phone). wtf if I wanted to play games I would play games on my computer. It also took 200 min from me when this happened instead of putting min on my phone like I was trying to do in the first place.I am considering going with at&t prepaid because it only takes a min off for a whole day to call as much as you want compared to this bullshit service that they are trying to provide to people. And yes I agree with the people that said it takes forever to get ahold of someone to talk to when you call in. I was on the phone for almost 2 hours and all the guy did was repeat the same sentence. How is that suppose to help anyone? HAVING SERVICE WITH THEM IS LIKE FLUSHING YOUR MONEY DOWN THE TOILET. seriously. 🙂

WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU: 1. Customer Service Sucks. Meaning that you will not be able to speak to a person who will understand you. I am not a xenophobe, but you might as well use the buttons don't wait for a human.2.Once a phone is registered, IT CANNOT BE USED BY ANYONE ELSE. Don't buy a phone off of ebay or get one from a friend. YOU HAVE TO BUY A NEW PHONE

Needed a phone to work in small town. My sprint service did not work there. Never had to talk to customer service (not looking forward to it). Bought the cheepo net 10, LG, non flip phone. Cost 25 Bucks in Oregon Fred Meyer with 300 minutes included. My work paid me fifty bucks for the phone and I have had 0 problems. A little work getting it activated but no problems. Coverage is amazing. Otherwise, what I was looking for; a cheap phone that would work where I was.

I've just suffered much of the same frustrations that many others have listed. I'm now waiting for a 2nd SIM card because when I try to transfer my old Tracfone number to my new Net10 phone the reps tell me to go through various hoops, requiring me to read off serial and SIM numbers repeatedly, and then find out it isn't going to work, and I have to call back and start over again. Even talking to a supervisor was frustrating; she kept having to ask HER supervisor for advice. Their scripts require an overly polite response that becomes annoying after the first three times. I finally told the last person to stop thanking me, and said that if she would just be natural it would be a lot better. I'm now torn between continuing this saga (having to put another SIM card in and call again) and giving it up and going to another phone company. I have had Tracfone for years and previously the service was good – I called and the people understood me and I them, and they were natural on the phone without all the assinine scripts, but it's all changed. But what I want to know is: what can we do about this? Will complaining to various places ever help?

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER- Do NOT get a Net 10 phone if you want to call anyone in Canada. We've spent a week trying to get access, and ended up throwing away 587 minutes along with the phone!

I know it's been said before, but their Customer Service is a joke. I have been on the phone today for 45 minutes and 43 minutes of it has been on hold, so they can talk to a different dept about why my number has not been ported over correctly. Actually they just hung up on me. Once my minutes are gone, I am so going to a different carrier.

Absolute worst cs experience of my life. Spent hours trying to port a number from my Tracfone to Net10. Was told it was successful and it was – if I had wanted to KEEP THAT NUMBER on my Tracfone. Net10 phone still wouldn't work even though my phone said number had been ported. Many hours and many service reps & supervisors later, I was told I would need a new sim card. Now neither phone works. Just awful.

Customer service is the worst! If you are lucky enought to speak with someone the connection is horrible and they just plain don't care about your Net 10 experience. I will never use them again. Do what ever you can to keep your business in the USA. Even folks in India aren’;t nice now.

The customer service is surreal. I have been trying for over 2 weeks to port a number to a new telephone. The ticket I opened for the porting was canceled. By whom I do not know. I have called back 5 times to check on status and start at the beginning everytime. All the customer reps who assure me they are proceesing my request have apparantly done NOTHING. It is unbelievable.

If you are looking for a cheap phone to use for emergency or an alternative to a LAN line, this is the way to go. I have a VOIP phone I use when making calls at home, and only use my net10 phone for emergency and as a pager when on call. I really don't like using cell phones because they get hot and burn my ear after long usage. This is because of the frequency they operate at (same as a microwave oven). Anyway, I have had my net10 phone for several months, and have never had a problem. I actually get better reception at the same location than I did with my AT&T phone, which is a Motorola V3 (Razor). I dumped my $89 per month AT&T phone and am going to keep my net10 phone. I figure I will save about $60/month this way. And I will still have what I need. The VOIP phone for home use is cheap – $19.99/year. I expect to save about $700/year with net10. Big bang for the buck.

Net 10 customer service sucks! Just tried calling to have service & minutes swiched to another net 10 phone. After being on hold for over 30 minutes i decided to see how bad their service is, and while doing things around the house over 2 hours went by and still no answer – that is pathetic, call and give them money for minutes only takes seconds, this isn't the 1st time with such poor service from them. Net 10 just lost a customer – they really suck!

My net ten phone is a piece of crap. It wont ring when someone else calls me.The battery will say that the phone is charged but then when someone calls me it doesn't even make a peep. I will never buy a net ten phone ever again.

This is the most frustrating phone when it comes to adding on minutes. I bought a card last week and the system keeps saying it is unavailable. If it is unavailable….stop selling this at Walmarts in Maine and New Hampshire! I feel like I am throwing away money!

I bought a net10 phone and proceeded to have my previous number transferred using their online site. While my old phone stopped working after a few hours, my net10 phone, after 30 hours still has a status of ‘porting in'. So much for staying in touch this weekend. Furthermore, when I call net10's customer service number an automated message says: due to high call volume we can not answer your call now.

Been with Net 10 for a few years with never a problem.I used customer service once and was a bit hard to understand the person but got the job done. Only thing is I want to upgrade my phone and am afraid the person I talk to will mess it up and lose the 7000 minutes I have stacked up on my account though lack of English skills. As to the ‘Con' listed in the article, If you need to save money on a seldom used phone, then why worry that the NET 10 phones are simple and they charge 10 cents a minute night and day?If you didn't mind spending money, you'd have one of those 200 dollar a month whiz-bang do everything phones, right?

I miss my Net 10 phone. It was a little cheapo dinky thing, but it NEVER gave me problems. I got great service, we only ever had to call the 800 once and that was to activate it. It was simple easy, and was a WAYY better deal than any other phone. The minutes you have carry over, you only have to get service days every 60 days, you have the option to spend only 20 bucks a month, instead of 30, and you can get the minutes on your time, and not have to worry every 30 days whether not you can get to the nearest store that carries your phone card plan and get the minutes. Net 10 Rocks. STRAIGHT TALK SUCKS!!! You think you are getting a deal, but you aren't. NET 10 ALL THE WAY!!!
Consumer Review
Very long hold times. Half the time you get the wrong information because the customer service people barely understand English. Everything gets repeated with the usual, ‘I apologize for…' with more time apologizing than fixing the issue, which is all a customer wants. One more thing: NO CALL FORWARDING.

I can't find a number to call you. I want to know: If I make a trip to the U.K. can I use your phone there? Can I receive calls from the U.S. on a Net10 phone?Sincerely, Gordon

THe negative comments come as a big surprise for me. I have never had a terrible experience with Tracfone or Net10 as long a ive had them. When i did have an issue with a time card, i called them and resolved it in under 20 minutes over the phone. Overall, I am happy with their service all around.

Net10 is excellent. I live in an area, where no one usually gets service(my friend who has 3g service doesnt even get it where i live) and i usually have atleast 1 or 2 bars here. I bought the samsung t401g, and like a lot of other people, it charged 5 cents a text instead of 3 cents. I called customer service, and I had no trouble getting my phone fixed. A very friendly person had told me to enter several codes onto my phone( about 5 i believe) and send a text message to make sure it was charging me 3 cents. It worked. The only thing I really dont like about the customer service is that you have to wait for a really long time to finally talk to someone, and whenever you talk to them, they are usually people from foreign countries, whom you can barely understand.(mostly hispanic though..)
Consumer Review
The one star is for the service that I get where I live. Other than that its a zero. I ordered a 401G online, got it in the mail. Tried to activate it and I ended up calling the 800. They told me the phone would not work in my area so they will send me another one. No big, so I waited. When i got the other phone it was the cheap lg 200c which is 50 dollars less than the 401g. What a rip off. So I called again and told them I already had an lg200c and I was trying to get an upgrade. I asked them what kind of phone do they have that will work in my area that is close to the 401g and all the phones they listed was crap. I finally found the R451C that was almost identical and I sent an email to them asking if it would work in my area and the reply was yes. Well by that time I had already asked for my refund on the other phone. I tried to get them to cancel my refund and just send me the R451C instead, but they said the ticket is already open and they can't do that. So I am waiting for that to go through. Only now they say they have not received the 401G which I sent on the 17th of June. There is only a 30 day opening to get refunds from the time of purchase and that will end on the 5th of july. I've been calling pretty constantly each morning and I am able to talk with someone within minutes, except today. Each time I have tried to call it's saying high call volume and my call cannot be taken. I'm going to be out $79.99+tax and I am stuck with the very phone that I was trying to replace. Another thing I'd like to add. If you purchase a net10 phone for example from walmart and you get told the phone doesn't work in that area and they will send you one that will work. Well if the phone you received is identical to the one you bought at the store (like buying the lg200c and getting another lg200c) notice on the replacement phones box it will say reconditioned. So the phone you bought at the store would have worked the whole time, but they get you to send your brand new phone back to them so they can give you a reconditioned one. It happened with my dad a couple years ago when he got his, and it happened to my mom this year when she got her phone.

I have never had a problem with the customer service so far and I've had 6 net 10 phones in our family.. we only call and text though but I've also had virgin mobile and it was costly… so I went back to net 10 for the 300 minutes you start out with… verizon prepaid aren't any better… it's just personal preferance I think… virgin mobile sent me an e=mail promising me 20 dollars on my account and when I tried to redeem it found out it was for my old phone through them that I hadn't had for almost a year.. this phones are great if you don't want to get stuck in a 2 year contract… all the prepaid companies have problems.. ya just gotta find the one you like and go with it..,,

A crappy deal, bought it to dial overseas, firstly you have to phone them on an other phone to register, then wait 2 days and ring them again to access international. I finally get to ring overseas, then try to ring the same number a week later and access is dennied. I ring them ,on hold for half an hour, finally give up and hang up.Why do they have it complicated when for no extra they could make it simple, or do they make their profit by people giving up on them and not using their prepaid credits. If you can't provide the service you advertise, get out ofthe market

Do yourself a favor DO NOT BUY any cellphone from net 10,customer service is under poor and the people in the porting department do not know how to transfer a number to net 10. My rating for this company is zero(0) over all.

I would have to say that net10 is by far the most incredible service I have used. With net10 I never have any trouble calling or texting or getting on the web. To top it off with net10 i pay only pennies per month.

The service was acceptable. However, I was told my phone is not working and I need to purchase a new one. I am on the auto-charge taken from my bank account and I have had the money taken each month & each month I have to call to have the days and minutes applied. We go through a long process and I always get an invalid code at the end. I want my account refunded for June and no more auto-withdrawals.

After having spent no less than five hours over the span of two weeks attemptingt to get minutes – for which I paid $30 – to no avail I have given up and will eat the loss. Net 10 customer service is, in my 52 years, the single most inept, imcompetent I have ever encountered. Net 10 service is simply not worth the aggravation.

Posted over a month ago when I purchased the phone 401G slider from Walmart for $57 and my review was positive. This time it is still very positive, love the service, I always have bars and at .10 p/min and .03 for a text how can anyone complain? My sister and neice switched and got the Samsung 355 qwerty with .025 for a text and she loves it. When my wife's contract is up in November guess what service she will get, yup Net10! Why would I pay $70 a month for extremely basic service when I can only pay $15 with Net10? Don't let the trolls on here scare you away, go for it, it's common sense. Oh and I added minutes b/c I am going away on vacation and wanted more time and did it on line with a card I purchased from Best Buy. It took all of 10 seconds from the time I typed in the # on the card till my phone started vibrating with the extra days and time. Oh yeah the card was for 300 mins and I got 400 mins, I'm no mensa student but I can figure out a deal without being beaten over the head. Just Do it!

If there was an option for ‘0' stars, that is what I would give!! … Been trying for 2 days and many hours on the phone with customer service trying to get my phone to work.
