I have had NET10 since they began offering service. They work off of the AT&T network so coverage has always been reliable. I have only had to replace phones once after I wore the first one out and customer service wasn't so bad. They transferred my old number and minutes over to my new phone w/o any problems. I only wish they offered a better monthly plan because I've been known to use 800 minutes a month.

I just found out about a Net10 feature which is an added bonus for me. You can call 1-877-NET10-80 for Word Cup results. It's a great feature for soccer fans who are on the road.

Service works okay in Kansas City area. Expect to get customer service in some foreign country, where the rep. is very difficult to understand. And they won't support the phones they sell. I just recently activated a new Motorola W375g under Net10 (about a month ago). It was originally staying up on standby for 5-6 days before needing recharging. In the last couple of days, it's suddenly going completely dead in 2 days. Net10 refuses to take any action to support this, as they claim it's ‘normal'. I strongly disagree (to put it politely).

I don't know why people are complaining so much about customer service. I had to do an upgrade recently and had no problems whatsoever! My old Motorola W375 (which I've had for YEARS) started acting kinda flaky, so I bought a Motorola W377g to replace it. Had to use Net 10 Customer Service to change my number to the new phone. The guys did talk fast and read from a script, but they were polite and professional. They did have to send me a new SIM card because I had already activated the new phone, and Ronaldo couldn't get it swapped over via phone. It took like 3 days to get the SIM card, no big deal. I got it, and after popping it in, called Net 10 and Bam! it was done! NO PROBLEM WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS!NO PROBLEM WITH THE NUMBER TRANSFER!NO PROBLEM WITH THE SIM CARD!NO PROBLEM WITH MY VOICE MAIL!NO PROBLEM WITH GETTING ALL OF MY TIME AND MY SERVICE END DATE TRANSFERRED OVER, AND KEEPING THE OTHER PHONE'S MINUTES AND TIME!So to those who can't be bothered by being polite and friendly and PATIENT with people over the phone, please stop complaining about Net 10!! I'd be willing to bet that a lot of those here who had a hard time were talking trash to them or were rude and obnoxious. I was friendly and patient with them, and they were patient and professional with me, and I had done what needed to be done. I have called them 3 times now and never been disappointed. Also… Net 10 is pretty much the best deal for those who only use their phone for less than 400 minutes a month and text only occasionally. Super cheap and rock solid dependable. I've only had a very few calls dropped, and I've had Net 10 for about 3 years.

Could services like Net10 cause some to want to scream like Lewis Black?A phone can be ‘activated,' show signal bars, and still be LOCKED! I went through two Samsung 451C's in 6 days. I returned my first one, hoping the second WOULD work. Both phones were LOCKED. (By the way, this model doesn't use SIM cards for programming.)Customer service is not well acquainted with the American tongue. Foreigners with broken english and garbled background noises from THEIR lines don't help one bit with hearing them. Inputting lottery codes didn't help unlocking either phone. (With the numerical strings for codes Net10 requires to ‘activate' their phones, I'd rather break a bank.)The concept of 10 cents a minute is an excellent marketing ploy. But where's the execution? If only Tracfone, NOT Straight Talk, would ever have a phone with a full qwerty, I'd buy one for mobile web and texting.Everyone knows no prepaid service is perfect. Take what's best for you. Accept the pros and cons of your choice of service, and move on.

Terrible. I bought their most expensive phone and their mobile web doesn't work for it. I called them and spoke with customer service for almost 2 hours and could barely understand a thing she said before she gave up. Also it wasted 20 minutes of my minutes while failing to connect to the web. I wish I could return the phone. I'd rather pay $40 a month for Verizon than $15 a month for this garbage.

the only reason I chose 1 star is zero is not available. I have used Net 10 for years! I pay with an automatic credit card withdrawal. My phone has been cut off for ‘payment denied'. Payment was last made on 5-24! I spent 30 minutes talking to someone whos only suggestion was for me to buy more minutes! That has been my only complaint. When there is a problem you cannot speak to English understanding people. They speak English but they do not understand. AND I had 514 minutes left! If I had any energy left I would scream!!!

NET10 is the absolutely best option out here where I live, they have the best signal strength and where other people lose coverage through large parts of the countryside my NET10 phone works just about anywhere! Of course it also helps that they are very inexpensive. Great to see the cheaper option is sometimes the better quality service. NET10 is definitely that!

Everything is working quite well as long as there are no problems. As soon as you need customer service you will run into a nightmare. The CS representatives are reading up from a script telling you how much they appreciate you as a customer but they don't fix the problems. You can keep on calling and calling about the same issues and you will get the exact same speech every time telling you that you just have to wait 24 hours…

I bought this net10 phone to save money. A coworker got me interested in the phone. I bought the LG300. It was a refurbished unit. It came with net10 standard 300min w/activation plus a 300min phone card. I got a phone and 600min/120days of service for $30. I would say this is a great deal.I did not try and transfer my old number. I set my phone up to buy airtime directly from phone.I did this when I went to buy an airtime card at Walmart and they were out of them. Usually they have plenty on hand. Buying direct from phone is very easy and convenient. I have no complaints with the phone or the service. I use less than 150min a month. 10cents a minute,5cents per text. minutes and days rollover if additional is purchased before expiration. I love the phone. The LG300 is very basic. If you want the best deal like I mentioned you can buy it from the net10 website. Free shipping(only 3days). I did my activation online as well as setting up buy direct. I have not had to deal with customer service. This may not be the phone for everyone as some reviews suggest. If anyone in your area has a net10 phone see how they like it. I like mine just fine. I am happy with my choice.

Our whole family has had Net10 for the past 3 years and are very pleased with it. The only trouble that I've ever had was problems that had to do with a cell phone tower, beyond their control where we lost service for a couple of days. That week I tried switching to Virgin Mobile prepaid, and what a mistake! They were so awful that I ended up returning the phone the next day. I am SO glad that I have my Net10 back, and they really do have good customer service 24/7. We live in a remote area and we normally still get 5 bars at all times. Highly recommended…

It is surprising how radically different are the opinions on Net10. Except for their customer service, I personally am very much satisfied with Net10 and, unless something dramatic changes, I think I will stick with them for a long, long time. Other family members are loyal Net10 or TracFone customers because of the quality and savings that these companies offer their customer base.

The phones they offer are great, not the best but a good deal. i just bought the Samsung flip phone w/ a keyboard that they just put out. its a cheap plan…Well depending on how often you use it. The only complaint i have had is that with the customer service. they get the job done and all, but they can piss you of pretty easily. Ive had to call there center 5 times once because my texting rates weren't the ones specified on my phone. Overall a great buy, but be prepared to listen to the same BS over and over when you call the customer care center.

The worst customer serice I have ever encountered by far! I have tried twice to download games , both times service was interupted , the game did not download but they still charged 60 minutes of service and then refused to refund. have had to get a new sim card several times, and everytime I have to call them I absolutely dread it. The last time I asked to speak to a manager they refused. the t401g has 3 cent text messaging but I was getting charged 5 cents for awhile , took me 3 hours on the phone with them to get it switched over to three cents. They are extremely hard to understand and allways repeat the same crap from a script. I sent a detailed complaint through e-mail and never got a response. avoid at all cost , it's almost a guarantee you'll have to deal with their customer service and is simply not worth the headache , they don't give two craps about their customers , I am shocked they are still in business. My girlfriend has Virgin Mobile and it is actually a PLEASURE to deal with their customer service. I wish I could say the same for net 10.

Bought this phone today at walmart, seemed ‘simple' to activate at first, then it never became activated. I called customer service technical support. All the guy could tell me to do was hit the menu button I had to explain to him, there was no menute button. and he said uhh hit the top bottom left button(What?) and anyway he told me the menu button was the left dash. I hit it a thousand times as he told me to, then he told me to turn it off then turn it back on 30 minutes after the conversation. So I did as instructed, still didn't work. And Im willing to be 10 dollars, that the 5 star reviews on here are fake and put there from the company it self. Because no one types and quotations all the qualities like that. Pos phone sigh

Very bad technology (especially to activate the phone) and very bad customer service. I bought the time to activate the phone and still trying since May 31, 2010. Service days are being deducted but there is no service. They told my exisiting SIM card will not work and sent me new one, which took 5 days to come and still the same problem. They are asking me to wait 24 hours and call again to see if it got activated. Very frustrating, Personally I would not recommend to friends and family and will not go with them anymore, once I use up my existing minutes, provided they help me activate it successfully.

They ended up sending me 2 sims cards which take 4-5 days to get here and still the phone is not working. The opperator continues to say ‘Please hold for 1 to 3 minutes while i update the computer' but the phone is yet to work! Then, they wanted to send me another SIM card in the mail so i asked for a refund which they denied! I just paid $32.10 to check my mail box everyday for the damn sim card!

Four of us travelled to Florida from the UK in May 2010. In view of the horrendous cost of using our UK cellphones in the US ($1.70 per minute) the Net 10 phone seemed a good idea. We bought one in Walmart's for about $32 and the lady assistant in Walmarts kindly offered to set it up for us, saying it would take ‘about 10 minutes'. Half an hour later, and with our two wives becoming more and more irritable. the job was more or less done. International calls were not yet available but we were told that we would receive a message when they were. From then on the Net 10 service was what I can only describe as ‘Poor'. We never did receive a message about international calls and we had to activate this again ourselves. When it finally happened only one call to the UK was successful in about 8 attempts. Then this feature stopped working altogether and we had to call the so-called Helpline. This seems to be nothing more than a ploy to get you to use up all your available minutes as soon as possible. We were put on hold with the time ticking away but nobody ever came back to me. When I asked, on being told yet again that I was being put on hold, if Net 10 would call me back either on the Net 10 phone or a landline I was airily informed that ‘It was not the company's policy to call customers back.'Yes, we did manage to make a few calls on the phone both to the USA and the UK, but most of them failed and within 10 days almost half of our allocated minutes had disappeared despite relatively few actual connections. The Net 10 service is not one I can recommend to anyone based on our experienced performance and company policies.

Usually you get the phone ‘free' because the price is less than the minutes included. Also, I've purchased 2 or 3 of these reconditioned phones and they all have appeared to be new and functioned perfectly. Then when it came and I tried to transfer my number I thought I would do that on the net too. Wrong!!! Once again I had to call the mid-east or wherever. Again the line was static filled and the voice was garbled. After hours I finally got it changed. I mean it was really hours. I got the phone at four and finally got it transfered at eight. The young woman was very helpful but we had to shout at each other and reapeat everything three to four times. She wanted me to call back later when ‘her tools' would be working better but I knew from the past that wasn't going to happen. They have lied repeatedly and to date I have no info on if or when I will get my SIM card (2 of them told me I would have it today). MY old Net 10 phone which was deactivated is still storing voice mail messages but I can't retrieve them. What I have learned is that Net 10 has 6 call centers throughout the world, and I have spoken to ones in the Philpines, Ghana and Bogata. Each one of the supervisors and managers will tell you what you want to hear, but it has no basis in reality. You absolutely cannot rely on anything they say and it is clear that no one at their call centers cares at all about the customer. I have all their first names and their employee numbers but who knows whether that is correct information. After reading all these reviews, I decided on giving Net10 a try and it has worked out wonderfully for us. There have been moments where she's gone out for a walk, and called me because she had become so tired from walking in the sun and needed someone to pick her up. This service has been great for my family for this very reason. Plus, I really wanted something inexpensive, because all she really needs is a way to contact me for just a couple of minutes…she doesn't need a massive amount of minutes, and she doesn't need any features…just a phone to dial out and receive calls. I would recommend Net10 to anyone! Can't be $0.10 per minute!

Great service! I bought one while traveling because I lost my own phone and didn't have time to have a new one shipped. This NET10 phone I bought had better coverage than my own phone. It is actually cheaper per minute too. In the meantime I've had my own phone replaced but I will definitely look at switching to NET10 when my contract expires. It was a good experience.

I started using Net10 just 5 days ago. The port of my number went smoothly. (Better than I expected because of another name on the bill.)BUT I have had about 1/3 of the calls to my number refused with ‘the number you are calling is temporarily out of service.' Mid-day calls are the worst. Therefore, I will try it for a few more days and then cancel if it stays bad. Could this be because they don't get enough airtime from the carriers they use here?

I wish I read all these reviews before I decided to transfer my Net 10 phone over to a new Net 10 phone. In the past 2 days I have been on my land line for over 4 hours with Net 10 customer service ,and also e-mailed them via their website, trying to transfer my minutes and activate the new phone. It is very difficult to understand them and unless you get a supervisor , the person is merely reading from a prepared script (by now I know the script by heart). Finally Net 10 said I got the wrong SIM card in my new phone and in due course would send me a new one. Although their script for their reps tells me I am a ‘valued' customer they refuse to ship my new SIM card by any kind of express delivery. So far the only thing Net 10 has done successfully is deactivate my old Net 10 phone so I have no working cell phone and all callers are going into a voice mailbox that I can't access. As a final insult, when I gave my request in writing to expedite delivery of my new SIM card by replying to their e-mail to me, my reply e-mail came back as ‘undeliverable'. I don't care how cheap Net 10 is, the aggravation isn't worth it.

I really admire this company. When i work out how much money im saving i kind of get the feeling im taking advantage of them. I text allot and i would normally get a bill for three times as much money a month. Net10 is great if you manage your money as closely as i do. I have never had such a hassle free experience with any other phone carrier. I will never get suckered into a contract again.

My service just expired and I am trying to decide how best to destroy this phone! Dealing with this company's customer service was a nightmare! I spent hours (no exaggeration) on the phone trying to figure out why the SIM card kept going bad. I had three different phone numbers in the short time I had this service (8 months). I had to argue with them to get back the ‘days' I had purchased. They did not want to compensate me for the days I lost because of their equipment failure. This is a third-world company with third-world customer service! BEWARE…

Support stinks — nearly two months and still the car charger that came in the accessory kit has not been replaced or an adapter supplied that will actually let me use it with the phone I purchased. They keep insisting I call the support center. Support call center uses some crappy VOIP system that makes it nearly impossible to understand what they are saying through the cross talk, delay, and echoing. Keep getting put on hold while agent goes looking for the phantom supervisor. No one there seems to give a damn — they just pass you down the line until you give up in complete frustration.

Quite possibly the worst service available today. The equipment is extremely low end. My first phone purchased at Walmart kept falling apart litterally while I used the back cover kept falling off and would not click into place from day one. After it continued to fall the battery started to slip out & fall as well. I called them -after an hour I finally got someone who spoke english well enough to understand me and sent me a new phone I still had 150 minutes left of my original 200 yet they only put 125 minutes on the new phone. Then conveniently the service dates ran out so I had to purchase more time in order to get service. I attempted to do this following the intstructions to the letter about 8-9 times over a 2 day period but to no avail. I then had to borrow a phone to call them. I was on the phone for 45 minutes and had been transferred to 2 other people this last one being a supervisor. She could not give me any answers to my questions without putting me on hold each time. she asked me for my name/addr/phone# 3 times. I kept telling her my phone was dying and to just let me purchase some new minutes so I had something to communicate with. I told her this several times. she then finally tells me she can't she would have to transfer me AGAIN to someone else. she then proceeds to read this statement to me about how grateful they are for my business. I had to yell at to just transfer me – so she did back to the vociemail where I had to wait another 2 minutes. I finally get someone who took all of my info AGAIN I gave her my cc# & she confirmed it. I told her my phone was dying and to speed this up. Then a minute later my phone went dead. They had all my info but I never got the minutes put on my phone. I wrote mulitple emails and when they answered they said they tried to call me at a # that wasn't even close to mine. I don't know why because I had to give them my # in 2 places on each email. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. Their equipment is cheap at best and the service is horrible. Not only that but when you call you can hear all the background noise in the call center but the person who is talking to you has an incredible amount of distortion like static and ear piercing screeching sounds that come through on your end. It's awful. Finally after 6 emails I was able to get them to charge my card for the minutes. The charge went thru my bank but I never received the minutes. I cancelled my account with them immediately after and it's been 2 months now and I still have not received a refund. This company is shady they don't explain anything to you in the instructions that come with the phone. The employees, including the supervisors are incompetent to the extreme. I've spoken tom 6 people there and NONE of them have a decent command of the english language and they took my money without giving me one day of service.

So, I was trying to transfer the minutes and days to a new phone. Somewhere in the process it failed and according to Net10 my existing phone had become deactivated even though it still worked just fine. I had 63 days and 706 minutes left on it. They sent me a new sim card to reactivate it and told me in two different conversations that my minutes and days were safe and would be carried over when I reactivated. In order to reactivate, I had buy a card worth 300 more minutes. They told me it was required. After it was reactivated the minutes were added but the days were gone. All I had for days left was the day that were added from the card. When I call them back about it – now they told me that they can only transfer minutes, not days. I could have used the phone for 60 more days before reactivating if they would have been honest. I think their service is very misleading! It's fine if you don't ever have to do anything (like change to a different phone). By the way, the phone they have are not very good. My wife's Sprint phone always works much better than mine. This is simply a cheap communication and at times does not work. You get what you pay for.

I could not believe the number of dropped calls! So I dropped that one fast enough and is now back with the prepaid provider that I love best – NET10!Call quality is the best, rates are lowest and I always know what my balance is so there is no reason to run out of minutes unexpectedly.

First I have to say I have had no problems using the phone. We got the phone for my son knowing that he needed a phone but we didn't need to worry about him breaking an expensive phone. Well he really doesn't use it much and i had like 1800+ minutes on his phone. Well, it wnet through the wash so we had to get a new one, and since their website claims that you can transfer minutes to a new phone great. So, I get a new phone and go to activate it online and it wouldn't work so I had to call customer service, well, I talked to ‘Jose' (actual name) and he got the number transfered over but I honestly could not understand him, at one point since i couldn't understand him i had entered one of the codes wrong and it wasn't working he couldn't explain to me that I was doing it wrong and had to keep going back and telling me to do the same thing over and over again and finally I got the hint. So after everything was said and done he said it was taken care of and to wait an hour for everything to take effect. So after an hour the phone worked but I only had 900 minutes. So, later that evening after work I called them back and tried to get someone to help me, thisgus name was ‘Kevin' and his accent wasn't so bad. He was helpful and kept apologizing because they were having problems with their system. Well unfortuantely I got cut off and had to call back again. This time I got a woman whose name I could not understand and who didn't have too bad an accent but was hard to understand anyway. So after trying to explain what was going on to her she tried to tell me that I had to buy airtime to reactivate the old phone to transfer the minutes. I then told her in the nicest way that this was bs and that I don't understand why I was being punished for upgrading my phone. Then she told me that I shuld have told them I wanted the minutes transfered when i activated the new phone. I told her that I did tell ‘Jose' this and then she started back tracking and asked for the old phones serial number. Then she proceeded to tell me that the system was only showing that the old phone only had 600 minutes available. I told her that it was wrong and but she told me the same thing. Then she tried to tell me that it could take up to 72 hours for everything to take effect. I then decided that the migraine I was getting was bad enough without further arguing with this woman. At one point in the call she told me that the phone was activated on May 24 which was 3 days ago I then told her that no today is the 24th and she said oh yes I'm sorry I'm in Pakistan and we are ahead. My thought was that there is no possible way for them to be 3 days ahead. She also asked about a dozen times if I told the person on the phone that i wanted to transfer my minutes. My thought, why would I not. So, long story short, I am out 1200 minutes. I guess the point is, if you need a cheap phone that is not too hard on the wallet, go with net 10 just pray to whatever god you worship that you never have to call there customer service.

My 13 year old son paid cash at Target for a Samsung phone with a keyboard nine days ago. Today I received a credit card statement with a charge of $53.75 for a NET10 Monthly Plan. We did not sign up for one! When my son went online to activate his phone he was asked to provide his name, email, date of birth, and a security question answer. My son states he wasn't asked for credit card information, so how did NET10 get this information? Are they tied into Target's database which has my credit card information? My customer service experience was horrible! The CSR had a very thick foreign accent, and she spoke in very broken English. She unenrolled us from the UNLIMITED PLAN, but says they do not give refunds (no minutes had been used the past nine days). She insisted someone had to call in the credit card information. I don't know how they got our credit card number, so now I have to take this up with the credit card company. Customer Service at NET10 is the worst!

Net10 service has gone downhill…fast. I have purchased replacement phones before and used to have no problem transferring my phone number to my new phone up until 2 months ago. I don't know if they changed something with the system but now it's a nightmare. They obviously have no idea what customer service is about. I had my CSR transfer me to the escalation phone number and the rude person there, I believe her name was Diana, hung up on me for requesting the name of the person in charge of customer service for the Corporation. Great customer service? I will start looking for another pre-paid phone service now. Net10 ,plain and simple , is horrible. Service, can't resolve issues in a timely manner, their FOREIGN CSR's barely speak english or with such a heavy accent you can NOT understand them.

In the few months I've been with Net10 I've grown to really like their service. I know exactly what I'm paying for, how many minutes and texts I have left at any stage and how long they'll last for. As someone who hates all the hidden costs and service fees from banks and cell phone providers, this is a revelation to me. I haven't come up against their spotty customer service, but with the cost savings they offer I can understand if they're cutting corners somewhere. As long as they keep offering me the same rates and coverage, I'll keep using them happily.

Customer service is a joke! The phone number assigned to my phone still had someone else's name tied to it so when a call was placed, the caller id on the recipients phone would show this man's name. I spent around 2.5 hours with CS trying to get this resolved –; I don't think that they ever even UNDERSTOOD what my problem was! On the third and final call to CS, I had to hang up before I completely lost it with the rep, or had a stroke. I also do NOT find it necessary for the cs rep to constantly call me by my name when assisting me – irritating. I happily returned the phone this am and will NEVER go Net10 again!

I have been wanting a QWERTY keyboard prepaid phone for months and months. I was excited to see Net 10 had one so I switched from my other prepaid co. I signed up for the monthly easy minutes but they never arrived. I called CS and within 20 minutes they had sent me my minutes and resolved the issue.I also had sent a text on 5-06 regarding being charged .5 rather .3 for text messages. Today, I was emailed back with a series of codes and the issue was resolved. All in all, so far I am very happy with the phone and the coverage. I have a little difficulty getting a signal and sending a text in my office but was able to resolve it by holding up the phone in the air when I transmit. But, that is a general cell phone issue and not just this company. For my limited usage, this phone more than serves my needs and 150 minutes monthly is plenty. I don't want to pay for 1,000 minutes a month when I use that month in a year as I mostly use the phone for texting.

Called back with no wait at all and spoke to a helpful woman (hard to understand but got through it). Good thing I noticed the 5 cent charge for text and she gave me some codes to put in the phone (T401G) now 3 cents per text. Also it may look like 30 cents per text but it is .30 of a minute which is 10 cents. She also explained that to me. So overall so far so good I hope I am done dealing with CS, I guess I was just lucky.

I just posted below, looking for a different 1800/1877 number to call to activate a Net10 phone, because the activation number listed was giving a recording (see hbelle post below).Well, I figured out that Net10 is a subsidiary of TracFone, which also is the corporation that runs Safelink. BOTH THE NET10 SITE AND THE TRACFONE SITE ARE DOWN, AS ARE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBERS. However, the SAFELINK site is up, and valid. So, I tried calling all numbers listed on the Safelink site:SafeLink: 1-800-378-1684TracFone: 1-800-867-7183Net10: 1-877-836-2368Customer Escalations Safelink: 1-800-876-5753Every single phone number gives a recording that they're out of service until further notice, and no phones can be activated. However, when you call the TracFone number, you are given a recording that ‘the information for this phone number has changed. Press 1 if you would like to receive a text message with the new number information.' I pressed 1, and instantly received a text message telling me to ‘respond Y' to the text, and then the text included ‘fees apply blah blah blah…' It listed a website, www.smsvw.com and so i went to it to see what these hackers are up to. The SMSVW.com site states that it's a LOCATOR SERVICE and then you read on, it says that it ‘locates information about different types of TEA.' Yes, Tea. The kind you drink. Nothing to do with phones. It appears that all 3 phone subsidiaries have been hacked into or something, but I'M SO IRRITATED! I purchased a Net10 phone and am leaving for a business trip and MUST have a phone, but now there's no way to turn it on and i've already spent my money. Can this even be legal? Is anyone else having the same experience??

We literally spent over 15 HOURS and more than 3 weeks just getting the phone to work. Then it was stolen. I called tonight to report it stolen. The first ‘customer service' representative said they could not do anything for me unless I took a picture of the phone and sent it to them. I asked to speak to a supervisor. A 15 minute on-hold.
