Every so often I find a company that clearly works harder than the competition and Net10 is one of those. Porting my ATT number over to Net10 took only a matter of hours and I get equal or better phone service for a dime a min. instead of a quarter. Not only that but ATT is now locking their SIM cards so they won't work in unlocked phones; Net10 does not.

Best prepaid there is, I've tried them all and NET10 stands out from among the rest as the one that provides the best service at the best price. No daily charges, no hidden costs, great quality! And my last NET10 phone I bought they gave me 300 minutes and 2 months service free! People complain about their CS but I've found they are JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CS DEPARTMENT, that is – if you're friendly with them they are friendly and helpful back. If you rant at anybody the result will probably be less than desirable!

First thing they need to do is remove the cute little ‘No Evil' from their home page. This company is plenty evil. And incompotent. With 3 ‘service' days left (if you can call anything from this company ‘service') I bought a refill card and have been trying for the last two and a half days to add the damn minutes. I've tried every method possible and there is always some kind of glitch. Many hours on the phone, of course, led to nothing. I'm so experienced in entering ‘codes' for their CSRs that I have the steps memorized. I now have 4 1/2 hours before my phone expires and dies and I sit here with a $30 refill card that won't work. And get this! The last call I made to them (20 minutes ago) they said the minutes HAD ALREADY BEEN ADDED. Well, isn't that nice! Thing is, they didn't show up on MY PHONE! How can a company like this even operate successfully? Probably like most corporations. You have the CEO raking in hundreds of millions while the customers and employees suffer. No evil? Get real.

There should be some way that this company can be sued for false advertisement. I spoke with a rep 5 different times and they did not assist me at all. They kept transferring me to different reps who made you go through the same trouble shooting steps and in essence they knew that they had no idea of what they were doing. My telephone signal is horible as I have no signal at work and that is where I need the phone the most. I have a picture phone where sometimes the pictures that I receive get stuck in the phone but it still takes minutes for viewiing the pictures but they will not open. I spoke with a customer service rep and asked her where they were located and she told me the Phillipines. How can you effectively service someone all the way from the Phillipines with signal problems. This a travesty and the owner of this company should pay for the false advertisement and the fact that those people all the way over there in the Phillipines have no idea of the frustration that they are causing when they cannot fix the problem and keep you on the phone for hours. They want you to call from a landline and this is the day and age that some people use their cell phone as there main means of communication. I am going to tell everyone I know that this phone company is a GREAT BIG JOKE!!!!!! Don't waste your money!!!

Exceptional customer service. I am a former sprint customer. I purchased a used net 10 phone that came without a sim card. they sent one via fedex to me. And walked me through the whole process, I have called in at least three times with great service. and the phone sounds and gets better reception than sprint at home. Hold time can be long but service is great.

Have you noticed that soon after negativbe reviews are posted that ‘great' reviews praising NET10 are posted. When you read the comments, phrasing and language they sound like a commercial or ad for NET10. I imagine that they have employees maybe different CS people rotate and post these phony comments.

Hey, i'm a expert at bad c/s. Net 10 has a forever call wait to get through. Best to call on your day off or after work, & use a lan line for two reasons. First your phone battery won't last or voice fade, second lan lines provide quality audio. You'll need it with those ‘funny accents'. Have all your info ready including sim number, phone no you want on the account, ect. I'm a electronic tech by trade & i found most of their c/s reps tech savy, & ready to work with you.Don't hang up with c/s until they give u all the minutes you are entitly to. For adding on minutes, use the web site net10.com & use a credit card NOT a debit card. Last, Not a good phone for web browsing. If web is what you want shop elsewhere.

My husband and I both have LG phones and I don't know if it's the service or the phones but our calls are constantly dropped. People we call can't hear us -we can't hear them. When we try to call each other we get weird message we can't make the call – the list of problems we have with these crap phones/service is endless. And forget customer service – they are worthless. Don't spend your money on these phones/service!!

Where to begin? I have been with net10 for almost four years now. I had one phone break (just went dead and never came back) and they replaced it promptly (with a refurbished, cheaper model phone).Last month I decided to get the new Samsung T401G because of the mobile web and special 3-cent texting. I am still being charged 5 cents for texts, have no mobile web, and now NO VOICEMAIL. I spent an hour and 30 minutes on the phone with a very nice lady and in the end was told to wait another 15 minutes and try turning my phone off and back on (again). Then she ended the phone call. Needless to say that did not work – it's been weeks and still no voicemail. I am discouraged by the people I see having the same problems – doesn't look like another lengthy phone call will fix anything.

IT'S EVIL!!!!!! COSTUMER SERVICE VERY POOR! especially that JULIA–NOT HELPFUL AT ALL NOT THE SUPERVISOR! I only used my phone when it's time for my husband to pick me up at work, the longest call would be 3 mins.,The last I checked my mins it was 232.50mins–; when I called my husband it dropped down to 0mins. I called NET10, they gave me only 200mins, it was fine with me even if they STEAL the 32.50 mins. After 2 days my minutes went down from 192.50 to 19.32mins. WHERE IS THE REST OF MY MINUTES?? I called net10 to address the issue but they said that they can'y give me back my minutes which is a BIG WHY? SO PLEASE DON'T PURCAHSE THIS PHONE. LET HELP PUT THIS COMPANY DOWN THEY ARE STEALING MONEY FROM US.

I'm reading the other reviews. Puzzled why those who had bad experiences with CS would still give 3 or 4 stars. My experience. Bought kids Motorola em326g for Xmas. Browser would not work. Could not send pictures. Could not download graphics or ringtones. This is what kids want and why I picked this model after research. Now three months later-numerous calls to useless CS. Calls to corporate office and executive resolution and so-called ‘super-rep' Elston. Replacement phone was LG200 which has no camera or browser. Sent back. Received two more phones, Replacement phone still doesn't work-not just browser cannot make or receive calls.Keep being told to wait 72 hrs. by 3 reps on phone. Vote with your pocketbook. I'm dumping not just this phone but ALL phones from this company, even those of other family members that work. A cell phone needs to be reliable and work. I'll be astonished if this company does not crash and burn in the future.

I just signed up with Net10 recently and I am really loving the service. I did my research concerning the prepaid market and Net10 had the best value for the money. I was able to purchase a brand new Samsung phone and a month's minutes and still save over what I would be paying with my previous carrier. So far so good with Net 10 and it doesn't get any easier than Best Buy for the inital purchase and I can actually recharge my phone directly from it. The calling network is pretty solid and no overage fees or contracts make it a great choice.

I bought my sister, who is a slow adult, a net 10 from Walmart because it was reasonably priced and there was no contract to deal with. As my sister is confined to a wheel chair after a foot amputation, I thought this phone would be the most effective for simple functions like calling out and receiving calls from family and friends. When I checked her phone the very next day, her phone showed that she had received 9 calls. The phone never rang! When she tried to call out, she got NO SIGNAL. The calls would slowly fade out as she spoke to whomever was on the other line. Instead of using stars to rate this phone, you should use a grading system. This phone gets an F! I will never get another one. It's pathetic to put out a product of such poor quality. How much does the CEO make daily while those of us who struggle daily to make ends meet purchase this piece of junk mettle resembling a phone?

Technically it's worked pretty well for the past six or nine months. However, a few days ago my phone went from 65 minutes airtime to 0 with no reason. Net10 customer service was COMPLETELY unhelpful. I called 611, went through a phone tree, and eventually was told they couldn't help (without getting a human). I sent email through the website, and FOUR DAYS LATER got email telling me to phone a 1-877 number and have my phone handy. So I did. They spent 45 minutes on the phone saying they could not do anything unless I called back from a landline phone (which I don't have; that's why I have their phone). And they wouldn't consider refunding the minutes I spent finding this out.I could deal with poor customer service if I didn't need to use it. But poor customer service after, as far as I can tell, stealing from me? Not okay.Terminating with extreme prejudice.

I've had Net10 for a little over two years, and never had any real issues, other than my phone being basic and lacking features, but it was a cheap phone that did what it was supposed to do, call and send texts. This week I decided to get a new phone, and have my number, minutes and service end date transferred over to it.Ended up having to call 4 times to get it transferred successfully. Very frustrating. Then, had to call back again in order to get the 3 cents a text that my phone advertised (and was initially told that I should ‘disregard that', because they only had 5 cent texts). I pointed out that the packing and Net10's own website all indicated that this model had 3 cent texting–and it was eventually resolved.Anyway, so far, it's all resolved, but that was frustrating. For the first 2 years, the service has been fine, a few hang ups here and there, but nothing major and it worked whenever i needed it to. And dealing with the CSR's, only one was what I'd consider even the least bit rude, and that was CSR number 3. But 1,2 and 4 for the activation/port, they were fine. And number 5 for the texts, she was fine too.

In spite of the fact that I was identified by name on top of page –as if that helped I still didn't exist.Put CC info. serial no. cell phone no. etc. etc. What a waste of time!!! For basic service without needing any customer support this is a good service for the basic user. Phone number can be ported from another carrier online. On the other hand upgrading to a new phone within Net10's system and keeping your phone number can be a nightmare. I spent over 40 minutes three different times to get an upgraded phone working. Even though i had a ticket number from support they needed the same information every time i called. Hopefully they will get the customer service worked out.

Bought a Net10 phone online. Did not like the phone or the service. Returned the phone within 30 days of the Money Bank Guarantee. Was told to call in and give the tracking number of the return package. Sent the package back on March 1. Called direct sales on that date with the UPS tracking number. Called on March 6 to inquire as to why I had not received credit. Was told I needed to supply them with the tracking number of the return package. Screamed into the phone that I called on the 1st and gave them that information. This is a nightmare. DO NOT BUY ANY NET10 products online. If you are dumb enough to buy a NET 10 phone, go to Wal-Mart of Traget. Does anyone have an email address of anyone at NET 10 I can contact about this matter?

I have been trying for three weeks to activate a phone that I bought directly from Net10. I have spent almost two hours talking with customer service without a solution. The representatives tried to help but were obvious unfamiliar with simple issues and not competent to handle simple questions. After three weeks, I finally got my phone number ported from TracFone which is the same company as Net10. I have 450 minute on the phone but when I try to make a call, I get a message from Version asking how I want to pay for the call. I wish that I had not purchased a Net10 phone.

This is my first cell phone ever. I went to buy my usual $5 card for the pay phone and found that 7-11 no longer sold it. That card was only lasting me 2 weeks anyway, and I had to find a pay phone to use it all the time. Ok, now my wife and daughter get those fancy phones, they pay a whole lot more than $15 per month. This phone is great for $15 per month. You get the LG300 phone that works real good included in the $30 for two month/300 minutes package. I'm probably just going to throw the phone away and get a new phone after I'm done. You can't compare $15 vs. $60…if you don't need too much in a phone this is great! Obviously, I am learning not to call Customer Service from these complaints, but who cares?

Rating NEGATIVE 2 Stars!I bought a Net10 phone online, trying to avoid Verizon. Paid for the six month, 1000 minute deal (and yes, it IS a contract of sorts!)First off, there was trouble activating the phone, on their end. Incompetence! Then, about three weeks before the six month ‘contract' date was to expire, I went online, and paid them another $100 for six more months, and another 1000 minutes. But guess what? THEY COULDN't credit me the minutes! Even after nearly two weeks! I spent DAYS on end on the phone with them, trying to resolve the issue. At one point, towards the end of the second day (of me trying to be nice, and patient) I said in frustration ‘forget it' ‘give me my money back'. It took more more than a week for that payment to appear at my bank. It was all a game, designed to keep me from rolling over any minutes. I spent $80 for the now useless phone. Plus another hundred (which I was planning on stretching out some more —I didn't USE the minutes). If Carlos Slim ever sees me, he better RUN! I plan on taking it right out of his hide. His bodyguards better step off to one side, too. He lied, and he stole from me. He steals from millions of people, everyday, every single day…

I bought a Net10 phone so I could phone home to Canada while travelling in the US. The phone was cheap and the rates seemed good, but I could not get it activated for out-of-country calls (this seems to require a separate step which is not advertised). For several days I called the 1-800 number listed in their manual, but no one ever answered it. Then I found another 1-877 number to call, and this time I talked to someone and he said he would activate it, but it could take up to 3 days. 11 days after purchasing the phone, I still could not call Canada and my vacation was coming to an end, so I took it back to Sears and got a refund.

This is the first cell phone I've ever had and I'm very happy with the service. My LG300 phone is using a T-Mobile SIM card and reception is perfect at both my houses (Eastern Connecticut and Northern New Jersey) and all points in-between. Activation goes well if you calmly READ and FOLLOW the instructions. I haven't called customer service yet, but you are much more likely to receive help when you treat people politely and respectfully. Many US companies have outsourced their customer service to other countries, so this is not unique to NET10 – get used to it (maybe you have the accent).

He spent a full hour with me putting me on hold checking things and ultimately decided he could not send out the new phone. OK, so I just decided to buy a new phone. I know everyone is down on their customer service, and I've proved that concern to be true. I a 45 minute customer service call that was completely worthless. So you may be wondering why 4 stars? If you don't need to reach customer service, then the service works fine, has better coverage than other phones I've had (and works in elevators, stairwells, buildings, parking garages etc that other phones have failed at). I got a Motorola phone that has good features and battery life. My phone calls are half the price they were with virgin and text messages are a third the price. Also, calls like 411 are just air-time – no extra charge. The customer service concerns are legitimate, but as long as everything is working ok it is a huge money saver. They also just started adding days when you top-up, so now you preserve left-over days if you top-up early. Good deal.

I rated this 1 star as there was not an option for a -10star. The few people with the good reviews must be with your company in someway. This is the worst phone and worst customer service a phone service. Your customers are obvious very upset with both. What is it that you intend to do with your dissatisfied customers? Anything? If not I would suggest you have a massive recall on all the phones you have sold. by the way can you tell me where they were made? We arlready know who your service reps are and from where. Advise for anyone anywhere making the decison to buy a phone with minutes to a buy should really look for a company with a better reputation.

Run, as fast as you can AWAY from this phone. I received the first one as a gift, it stopped working within months. I had to send away for a new phone. I requested to keep the same number, when I received another phone, I had a different number. I hooked the phone up and within 1 week that phone was broke as well, there was only half a screen showing. I was informed by Net 10 to send it back again, and for all this inconvenience, they could not even provide me any additional compensation for the inferiority of not one, but two phones. If this was my company, I would at least have given the customer some extra minutes for all the problems they had experienced, not Net 10. All I was told is basically tough luck send the second one back and we will send you another. I am going to purchase with a company that at least stands behind their customer. I can understand that I can get unlucky and get two bad reconditioned phones, and a clerk who forgets to program in the same number, but dealing with a company that cannot even show a customer that they messed up so bad, with their phones, service, and technology, and not even trying to make them happy by maybe giving them some additional minutes for all the trouble Net 10 has put them through, that is a company that could care less about their customers.

The $30 (300 min) card and free Nokia phone work fine if you don't need mp3/web/IM/etc. Pricing is some of the lowest I've seen and you can buy recharge cards at multiple locations. Some places (like Family Dollar/Dollar General) even sell $15 (150 min) recharge cards.I was happy with the cost and signal quality of Net 10; great if you just want talk and text (I've never tried any of their higher grade phones). I have no need for data (use my PC for that), fancy graphics, or custom ringtones. All I need is the ability to make and receive calls, and send a few texts. Net10 fills the bill at least as well as Verizon, and that's their niche. Folks wanting the fancy stuff should just pay the bucks and let the contract gangsters rip them off without complaint.

People, it's a PREPAID SERVICE. It's not a contract phone through Verizon, Sprint, etc… It does what it's designed to do! You buy the phone, set up service, get a new phone number, and within 10 minutes you're good to go! I got the Samsung QWERTY slider about 4 months ago and have had only one minor issue. I had to call CS because the texts were costing 5 cents instead of the advertised 3 cents. CS gave me a quick series of codes to remedy the issue AND refunded back all the minutes I was errantly charged for and then some! I'd give NET10 5 stars, but I dislike that picture and media messages costs 35 cents (sometimes as much as 45 cents depending on the file size) to send or receive. Other than that, the coverage is good, the price is good, and the phone does what I want it to do. For $15 a month, what do you people expect?

Just got the phone – have been spending countless hours on hold for customer service due to a snafu with porting a number. This is a nighmare since the entire customer service department is from another country with VERY limited english (part of the problem). I'm on the phone as I type –; I just got thru to someone – they transferred me with no explanation for it, I'm back to the lovely hold music. When will this end? …..probably not until I'm able to go back to a more expensive option

Senario: Never trust a CSR that has to repeat the words ‘Thank you for choosing Net10 as your wireless service' reason being I have been calling CS everday for the last 22 days straight, each call last more than 30 minutes. I got my unlimited phone 25 days ago started having problems from day 3. On the phone with CSR's daily only to recieve ‘Ticket #'s' for my resolution and be transfered to different dept's. To whom restate ‘How glad they are for me choosing Net10' (I bet) Next they send a new sim card took 3 days and…still no go, then a new unlimited phone took 3 days to get and…still no go. But here's the kicker they charge my bank account AGAIN for a 30-day service for the replacement phone (seriously). All the while I still have 10 days of service left from my old phone mind you that phone is still active as well as the new one…and the service is not transfered yet. But wait there's more…When I go to have my money refunded for the charge to my account without fail they state that they do not see this charge and to call back in 2-3 bus. days. Therefore I wait lika dummie and call back to here they will not refund me the money until my issue is resolved(hold on now it ain't over by far). Now here's the breakdown…I have 2 unlimited phones both with the same phone number the old one rings the new one doesn't but my 30-days added is on count down (I have 26 days left of service but, have not been able to call email text except listen to a Tmobile answering service)meanwhile my old phone has 6 days of service left and is not (fully unlimited as they mentioned ‘STILL' I cannot send pictures via any text message or email I cannot access the internet and at times my phone goes to 911 mode and I have to cut it off and leave it off for about an hour) prepaid or not it is falsified adverstisement and unlawful practicing on Net10 as they transfer me to Tracfone wireless for additional assistance to whom will state I need to be transfered back to Net10 and my replacement phone will ring to T-mobile as it's automated service states this is an unrecognized phone. Viciously they are keeping me as a customer only to keep the fees but as far as being a ‘customer' IgotServed. Within this cluster ‘buck' of a mess I registered online with Net10 to only recieved passwords from Tracfone and when I log on to tracfone the response is that I am a Net10 user by my sim card (DUH!) so what is really going on. Really IjustGotServed…I'm unpleased and have called a lawyer as not only are they giving me the run around they really are trying to keep from refunding me and my money they just are letting the days run out but, God don't like ugly and I pray they understand it's nothing personal, it's just a hot mess with 10% being happy customers and 90% being a rip off and a run around. It set a BAD name for Net10 seeing as 9 out of 10 posts are negative. And mine makes 1 more unsatified customer who really didn't want much…Just a working cell phone and a provider that took initiative and not 45min to an 1hour to unsuccessfully fix the problem. Oh and by the way all my issues are still unfix…This is day 26. I ain't mad though IgotServed.

Had an incident the other day when 2 of our phones were involved in Net 10 ‘global system problem' per the rep-I tried going on line to purchase bundled minutes and was not able, I had to call Tech support on my Net 10 cell for a problem that was on their end- I had no access to a landline to call at the time- I was on hold for over 30 minutes and the technician could not fix the problem the phone call took over 41 minutes-I had to call the next day again and was on the phone again for over 60 minutes. I asked to speak with a supervisor they could not find one on the floor. Very poor managment. I asked if i could get my minutes reimbursed being that it was ‘their' initial problem. They said ‘No'. They didn't even try to find a way to work with me and try to keep me as a customer. I have been with them for over 1 year and it's time to switch. Again, very poor managament and tech support is very scripted, you can't explain your problems with them without going through their scripts!!!

Horrible customer service. Sorry, that's not fair since we never got to TALK to customer service. Gave up after waiting on hold for eternity.Got a promotional message indicating we'd receive 100 free minutes with the next three airtime purchases. Made the purchase, didn't get the minutes. Emailed customer service since calling them does no good. They responded by saying they can't refund airtime purchases which we didn't even ask for. We asked for the 100 minutes they promised. They obviously don't even read the emails or have people with limited English comprehension reading them.

I've had net 10 for 4 years and love it. I've had 4 phones(upgrades), no trouble porting my number initially, no trouble adding minutes, no trouble with calls to cs, I understand them and they understand me. I've even called for several friends and had no problem solving their problems. But I can understand that some people have problems communicating with cs reps because my friends did. They solved that problem by having someone who knew how to explain their problems to customer service do it (that would be me). Net 10 is a good value. I currently have the EM326 and love it. I have no trouble calling friends, no trouble using my mp3 player or FM radio, no trouble taking pictures, no trouble connecting to my computer to load songs, pictures, or games. Best value for $50.

I truly don't understand all of the negative reviews. I have two Net 10 phones and both work fine. Coverage isn't quite as good as Verizon, but cost is about 1/3 (and coverage isn't bad). Maybe folks don't like to speak to people with accents –; I've never had a problem with their customer service. Only issue I had was with t401g charging 5 cents a text instead of 3 – issue was resolved with a 10 minute phone call. No issue porting numbers. If you are not a giant app user, I can't imagine why you would want to pay triple the amount for the same basic service. Doesn't make any sense to me.

I still like the phone coverage but have yet to be able to use the browser function or e-mail services that my new $100.00 phone should have to offer.I advise anyone who needs a phone to only use net10's cheapest models because you will never be able to use the additional functions that a more expensive models offer!!

I must agree with Brian. Many people do not rate this as it stands amongst other prepaid services but instead judge Net10 in comparison to national plan carriers like Sprint, Verizon, AT&T etc. Nevertheless, comparing Net10 to it's pre-paid competitors, it gets two small stars from me. I was searching online to see the longest anyone has waited on hold for customer service, when I came across this site and decided to kill some time during the wait. We bought this phone for our grandma to have for emergencies while driving and I need to change the credit card that the monthly minutes plan is withdrawing from. Unfortunately, their D- website does not offer several functions that would be useful to the consumer. One hour on hold and counting! I hope they pick up soon 🙂

Dealing with customer service has always been a breeze..(I have upgraded phones several times)..they absolutely went out of their way to be nice, and helpful. It probably helped that I was also nice…not bitchy and confrontational. I have never been anywhere that I didn't have a clear, strong signal. IT's not hard to tell from the negative posts here WHY the posters got bad customer service. And why so many of them have problems with their phone. Ignorance of how to use a cell phone and a bad attitude, mostly. And expecting full service from a cheap,pre-paid phone. I have recommended Net10 to several people and they have ALL been very happy,in every way.I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a phone to be activated, minuted to be added,or transferred.Simply put, the world is full of idiots and unpleasant people. If you want to be treated well, do the same to others.

Add us to the worst service EVER. I have been with them about 3 years. We recently found out that we had 1600 minutes that had NOT been put on the phone. We live in an area without cell service or cell tower. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I have told them we can’;t use the phone at home. They still go through the motion as if we are hooked up. I FINALLY, got our new net 10 phone transferred over and those 1600 minutes added to the phone. We couldnt test it at home. So I jumped in the car and drove the 10 miles to get service. I had SERVICE ON NET 10, we had the 1600 minutes added. It was perfect. This all occurred about 3 weeks ago.Now last night when trying to use the phone, one can't call out, nor can one call in. It says NO SERVICE. This company apparently has cancelled the phone, still charging the monthly fee of $16.00 on credit card AND I CAN'T GET ANYONE TO HELP US.I would like my $160 dollars back for the minutes they keep charging me for that we did not get.I had asked them to call me when I got out in the area of service. My husband had them on the phone when I went out to check good service, then I called the house with the caller i.d. and told them to call me RIGHT BACK. They did not. Now we have NOTHING. and THEY ARE STILL CHARGING THE CREDIT CARD. My contract is up with Verizion next month. I had anticipated going to NET 10 for both phones,……..NO WAY. Customer Service is horrible. And to the person who says, you get what you pay for. We didn't get what we paid for. We didn't even get the minutes but they got our money. We will NOT be getting a 2nd NET 10 I will be looking into the family plan and get 2 phones via Verizon or Sprint. I am still NOT ABLE TO GET THROUGH TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I also have been hung up by this company. And yes the language barrier is bad at times. If they are trying to make us Americans' frustrated….. Okay I have to say something about all these pissers and moaners, net10 is a PRE paid service and therefore you get what you pay for, if you for a moment think you are going to get the same attention as if you pay $100 a month on a contracted plan then you are incredibly stupid up front. That being said in my dealing with Net10 I quickly learned that being polite got you a long way, it is like that with all customer service, I worked as a customer service rep for a cable company for a long time and we were instructed to put cranky customers on hold and annoy the shit out of them, also we had something called the hold-of-death where we automatically put phone numbers who annoyed us in the past on hold for hours with no intentions to ever answering their call, it is a part of the game so customers BE POLITE and you get help and if not well have a good time on hold with all the crappy music.LEarn and live people

I don't believe that customer service personnel actually have the ability to read English. Either that, or they are pretending not to so that you use up your minutes to call customer service instead. Their Web site doesn't work for downloadables. It says ‘contact customer service for support.' So, you contact customer service via email, and customer service emails you back and says ‘call customer service.' In addition, they rotate their telephone numbers much too frequently. I am still receiving telephone calls for the person that had the telphone number prior to me – unfortunately, many of these calls are from non-profit organizations such as churches, rape crisis centers, etc. However, each time I take one of these calls, I am paying for the minutes.

Two years ago I purchased a Net10 and was pretty much satisfied with it. Simple, easy to use, no bells or whistles. Due to financial concerns I allowed the phone to lapse for a few months, but when things settled I went to reactivate it. I purchased the new sim card, as instructed, called CS, went through a major ordeal trying to activate it, only to have the rep do something that invalidated my sims card and got told I had to purchase another one! Needless to say I didn't and am currently looking for a new service.

We chose NET10 because they say you can call internationally (Italy in our case) for the cost of 1.5x domestic calling. The problem is that international calling is disabled by default, they don't answer customer service or email, and turning on international calling on the website doesn't work. We tried for 10 days to get international calling enabled, with no success. This phone was a complete waste of money.

Net10 Customer Service is Awful and Evil! When you go to the Net10 website, their advertising slogan says “No Bill’s, No Contracts, No EVIL”. Here is why I think they are absolute hypocrites in regards to the No EVIL slogan…. I purchased a basic Net10 phone so I could keep my old phone number since I recently got a free cell phone through my employer and I did not want to keep paying on my Verizon phone that was costing me somewhere north of $90 per month. I wanted to keep/port my old number to Net10 so my friends and family could still contact me on my old number that I have had for over 6 years. So over 10 days ago I purchased my new Net10 phone and went through their online activation process and followed the steps to transfer my phone number. Immediately after going through this online “activation” my Verizon phone stopped working and my new Net10 phone would begin ringing whenever someone called the old number but they could not leave a message because the Net10 phone was not active? So I waited about 3 days and called Net10 customer service and received completely incompetent service and no one would help me or give me a straight answer. Going to their website for a status did not give me any information and my old phone is still unusable for the last 10 days. Meanwhile I have tried every trick in the book to get some movement on this issue including talking to 2 levels of supervisors who have been completely unwilling to do anything outside of reading their prepared script to deal with irate customers, In all actuality these people do not care since they are being paid low wages and are based out of a Philippians call center. I have never been so frustrated in my life and I am so tired of dealing with these people but I have gotten no direction on what to do other than wait. As I write this I have been waiting on hold with Net10 customer service for over 90 minutes….. So much for “No Evil”. They may be a good service once you get activated, but they are not equipped to deal with customer problems. If you want to port your old phone number to NET10 I would reconsider….Trust me on this, they suck!

Great signal. Verizon-like network at a fraction of the price. Customer service is sub-par. That being said, it's worked for me and I will continue with them until it doesn't.FYI: to the person who complained about this sevice being like a contract: A contract is a obligation to pay a certain fee for a certain duration for a certain service. You are under no obligation to continue service as you would under a contract. You let your minutes and/or days expire prior to renewing. Now that you have lost your sevice due to negligence on your part, you are free to walk away. That's not a contract. A contract would entail someone being legally obligated to give Verizon $60 + per month for two years. I hate it when people give the contract complaint regarding pre pay.

Why isn't there a rating of zero stars?Net 10 claims there is no monthly contract, but there is. They just call it something else. You buy a $20 card good for 200 minutes, and you have only one month to use them in. If you don't buy another card in a month, they cut off your service regardless of how many air minutes you have remaining and already paid for. Customer service is horrible. Enormously long hold times, rude reps, mot of whom don’t speak English well enough to communicate, and the attitude that no matter what happens, the customer is always wrong. They actually make it cheaper and easier for you to just throw away the phone you have and buy a new one than to try to get them to honor the air time you've already paid for on your existing phone.

I have used Net10 for 3 years and have been very happy with the service. I originally had a Verizon monthly plan, but it had zero coverage in Atchison, KS, where I often visit relatives. When I was going to be in Atchison for a long period of time in 2007, I bought a Net10 Nokia 1600 phone (which included 300 free min. and no activation fee) at the local Wal-Mart and instantly had coverage. After I returned home, I used up the remaining minutes and went back to my Verizon phone. When I returned to Atchison a year later, I tried to reactivate the Net10 phone but was informed by Customer Service (CS) that the SIM card was obsolete and that I would need a new one. They said they could mail one to me within 5-7 days. As I was only staying a week, I wouldn't get the SIM card in time, and I'd already bought a 300-min non-refundable card. I ranted for awhile and didn't seem to get anywhere, but lo, and behold, a DHL truck pulled up the next morning and delivered my SIM card at no cost to me! CS came through in the end, and I was able to use my Net10 phone for my entire visit. The next time I visited, I called CS in advance and had a new SIM card mailed to my home before leaving for my trip, again at no cost to me. When the economy crashed, I reevaluated my Verizon plan ($40.00/month, incl. taxes and fees, for 350 min. plus unlimited nights and weekends with no rollover) and realized that I could save a bundle using just the Net10 phone ($30.00/two months for 300 min. plus rollover of all minutes upon renewal). I dumped Verizon in June 2009 when my contract ended, reactivated my Net10 phone, and have been very happy ever since, particularly as I'm saving $300/year! I don't use all 300 min. within 2 months unless I'm traveling, so it's great to have all the rollover minutes (which never expire) for when I do travel. The Net10 coverage is fantastic (even in the mountains of western North Carolina), the calls are clear, and I love the little Nokia 1600 phone — it has only the features I want (phone and text) without all the bells and whistles I don't need to pay extra for, and it was basically free, consideriing that I paid $29.99 for it and the 300 min. it came with. I use the Internet to renew my minutes every two months and have had absolutely no problems. The phone updates instantly. Granted, I had problems with CS the first time I called about the obsolete SIM card, but they came through, and I have had no problems with CS in ordering two new SIM cards since then. I hope Net10 stays in business for a long time. I'd be hard pressed to find a better deal. I do NOT work for Net10!!!

Without a doubt,Net10 has the worse customer service reps.i've ever had come across with any cell phone company.I'm writing this review just to vent and let those of you who are considering purchasing a Net10 phone to reconsider. It definately is not worth your sanity to call technical support if you are having issues with your phone. The reps.are rude and can't resolve issues no matter how many different ways you try to explain why you are calling. They are of no help and if you are offered free minutes after purchasing one of their refillable cards.Forget it,you'll never see them.I called them after receiving a text message from them stating that you will receive 100 free minutes the next 3 times you add airtime to your phone.I called them when i hadn't received those minutes only to get the run around, they tried to say that wasn't valid til the next month when nowhere in that message mentioned a time frame of when you had to redeem your minutes. Then i was put on hold on and off for 45 minutes so the rep. could speak to a supervisor just to be told that their records showed i had already received those minutes. Why would i call and go through all the hassel if i had already received them? Also, instead of resolving my issue after i had written an email to complain about the horrible customer service i had received, instead of having a supervisor email me in return to resolve this issue,i was given an advertisement instead. As if my business with them didn't matter.Very unprofessional,in my opinion, but hey.i guess u get what you pay for.I just don't know how they are still in business.

NET 10 SUCKS! Ditto the person who said ‘Negative 5 stars':I purchased a Net 10 phone for my elderly father who lives in WV. I live in NC. I set up payments to be auto-drafted from my checking account because he has great difficulty understanding how to purchase minutes and then get them entered into his phone through the rediculously complex process of entering IMEI numbers and CARD numbers and going through the entire ‘automated' process. In October of 2009, the ‘automated' minutes did not update on my father's phone. I was charged (you seem to have no trouble what so ever with that part) as usual but no update. I had to wait until November when I could call in with the phone in hand to get anything done. That still took nearly two hours (absolutely ridiculous – again) to enter ‘software / update codes' to get the phone to update. There was not physical damage to the phone, so it was obviously a fault with your system. Of course I was told that since we got the ‘updates' entered this time (November of 2009) that ‘it would not happen again' (can you say ‘lie' or should it be ‘stupid', you tell me). I make this bold (but accurate) statement because the same thing happened again in December '09 and again in January '10.To make matters worse, I cancelled the auto-draft January 28 prior to February's deduction. I was ‘assured' that nothing would be deducted in February (can you say ‘lie' or should it be ‘stupid', you tell me: of course I'm the stupid one for actually believing that Net 10 could do something right). Today (2-7-10) my account was charged. I'm still on hold this minute waiting to speak to someone.Net 10 customer service really bites. First, I don't want to have to take a second language course in order to understand what the hell their reps are saying. Second, when I am told by a rep that ‘this won't happen again', I actually expect it NOT to happen again. Third, I don't have time to wait on ‘customer service' on hold for nearly two hours. How do they even stay in business with service like this? I actually find it difficult to use the word ‘service' in this case because what they are providing is so far from ‘service' that it should be called ‘anti-service'!

The rep I talked to the first got the sim card numbers reversed and rendered both phones useless. Now I have to wait 3-5 days untill new sim cards are mailed before I can use either phones

I have used net 10 for at least 5 years now at one time it was my primary cell I have since switched to Boost mobile as my primary phone but I still use the net10 as my back up and since Boost coverage is sometimes spotty I just forward my Boost into my Net 10 when traveling. The cost for both phones is still only $65.00 per month and that is for nation wide unlimited. Net10 has very good coverage and I use the internet to add minutes and solve problems and since i do not use the Net 10 as often the minutes roll over and I have a lot of extra minutes. The only down side is that the customer service is not great.

Awful customer service. After speaking with 5 reps, and wasting 1 hour, was advised by staff that they do in fact tell you what ever they think you want to hear in order to get you to buy the product. First phone came with an invalid serial number. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and thought perhaps was a simple mistake and added additional mins, figuring everyone deserves a second chance. The serial number registered to the phone was still wrong so had to re-register in order to add mins. A second phone purchased at the same time had a SIM card that was rejected. I had to wait for a new card to be sent to me. On the second phone, had the same issue of an incorrect serial number. Just all around a horrible experience, and customer service very difficult, not because of language barrier, but because the company has such horrible policies.

The Net10 Unlimited available through Target is GSM-based and uses AT&T's Network. At 50.00, it is a good deal and has more coverage than Straight Talk. I hear Net10 roams on AT&T's network. Check the coverage.

I bought a new cell phone over a month ago and have been to set up my voice mail. I haven't been able to set it as yet and I have made over 4 or 5 calls. The last time I talked to someone who I couldn't understand about 3 days ago and what I did think she said, to wait 24 or 48 hours and try again. Yesterday I tried to to set it up again and it still keeps saying this number is not valid.

Anyone familiar with the NEW Net 10 Unlimited $50 per month plan? Does anyone know what service it runs on? (ATT or Verizon) Are the phones ONLY available at Target?

WORST customer service ever!!! Reps barely speak English, background noise in call center is intolerable, and reps continually lie and do not fulfill commitments and promises. FRAUD would be a great word to describe this company and its lying, unethical employees. The only reason they even deserve 1 star is because they buy access to all cellular carriers' towers, so service is available almost anywhere.

All of the reviews of Net10 service that have more than 1 star must be Net10 reps because they have the worst service I have ever seen. It is truly horrible!

Gee, I don't know about New York because I haven't visited there since I've had my phone, but I live in the Mojave Desert and the Net 10 service is perfect as opposed to Verizon where you can hear every other word… on a clear day…..standing on one foot. Net 10 gives me the service I expect from a cell phone here, Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and all the way to Fairbanks, Alaska. Great phone!

Having phoned twice previously ,on line once, and again today spending 20 minutes on the phone trying to get their line, and listening to ‘how important my call is' I JUST GIVE UP. I cannot get long distance service, nor can I get any help from Net 10. After my current minutes expire, I will be switching to a more reputable Phone Company.

The worst provider ever! They double charged my credit card. Wouldn't credit me back NOR give me the minutes they double charged me for. Customer service can barely speak OR understand English. I rather NOT have ANY cell than net10.

I purchased a Samsung phone from Net 10. It's the worst service I ever had. The calls either don't go through or you get disconted. I'm returning the phone. Do not recommend it to anyone!
