I should be -3 stars. Worst customer service ever. 45 minutes on the phone, transfered to 3 different people, and no one could make the phone make calls. After reprogrming, reseting, updating, they told me to wait 72 hrs with no phone and then try again. Well, I guess we get what we paid for.The lenguage of the reps is not the problem, is the noise around them that makes it impossible to understand. This is the 3rd phone I activate with them and each time has been a nightmare. Broken phones, broken sim cards and now this!

5 thumbs down.I got this phone because it advertised it's very reasonable international rates on the outside of the box, which also mentioned it's text rates. I'm a US citizen currently living in Canada and travel to the US frequently. This is perfect for my family in the US and contacting family at home while in the US.First, the box flat out lied. They do not allow international texting whatsoever. I kept getting an error code that wasn't identifiable on the website. When I emailed to ask what it meant, they threatened to cut my service because I had even attempted international texting. WTF…half the point of a cell is texting and it said international texting was a feature on the packaging. Second, calling internationally also first resulted in error codes that couldn't be identified. To call internationally, you must first activate the international service, which is free. You then have to go through a process to dial the number. You can't just dial it. You must (to Canada anyway) first dial 1*, listen to a long message telling you to then essentially dial your number and # (but you can't dial until the message is done. You have to listen to the irrelevant instructions for 3 ways to do it depending where you are calling first EVERY TIME). You can't store the international numbers because they can't just be dialed as normal due to this process. When setting up the phone, I had to call in because something was up with the zip code where I am. You have to provide the zip code of your most frequent use area. The operator told me service wasn't available here and he'd have to mail me a new phone. WTF…I bought it here. I just changed the zip code I had him use to a large city and he set it up. Others have complained about the operators. They were difficult to understand and didn't understand me well at all. I don't have a thick accent, the English language skills of the operator were rudimentary. The email service was horrible as well. As I said, they threatened to deactivate for attempting the international texting they advertised to offer. Besides that, the phone itself has HORRIBLE sound when you do get reception. The reception is dodgey at best. The speaker isn't loud enough to hear the phone ringing most of the time. Stay away from this company. Easy international calling, international texting, ‘international neighbors' are all utter falsehoods. The service quality on the calls and the customer service blow.

I give it 1 star simply because I am most unhappy that, as of this very moment, I cannot use my new Net 10 phone because I wanted to transfer my remaining minutes and phone number from my old Net 10 phone to my new Net 10 phone. Now I'm being told this process takes up to 72 hours. Now I am without service on my new phone and my old phone, just when I will be traveling on this Christmas holiday. I am very unhappy.

Just upgraded to a new Net10 phone, a Motorola EM326g, worst mistake I've made!! Apparently Net10 and Tracfone acquires unused available phone numbers to resell. The problem I have it with the ID caller, a minor but irritating one, every time I make an outgoing call, the recepient's caller ID shows the name of the previous owner, not mine therefore they ignore the call and I'm left out of a conversation. Have called Net10 customer services at least a dozen times to no avail, a very frustrating experience to say the least, half the time you can't even understand the so called experts you're talking to. You would think that Net10 would have enough sense to change, or erase any data/settings in the phone numbers they acquire before the make it available for sale.

Net 10 is ridiculous. They say it is no problem to upgrade your phone, but then you buy the phone and can't upgrade because your on the unlimited plan which can't be transfered. You wait til that runs out, so you can upgrade your phone. Well, then they can't upgrade the phone because you bought it from them not Target. They transfer all your time and deactivate your old phone before they inform you of this issue with the unlimited plan even though you have informed them repeatedly that you are an unlimited plan customer. Once the old phone is deactivated you can't reactivate it without waiting for them to send you a new SIM card, which will take several days plus it is the holiday on top of that. I have had net10 unlimited for a year now, and all I needed to do is upgrade. It really shouldn't be that hard. I no longer have net10 and will be changing to ATT unlimited which is by the way $20 a month cheaper.

By the way, after reading the other reviews I came out lucky with my 2 attempts with the customer service dept. I spent a total of about 40 minutes without getting my issue resolved, both times had someone who could barely speak english and both times I had to hang up without getting the problem solved….but at least I only wasted 40 minutes. I agree with a previous post, one star is too much for this company, that makes it seem as if they actually could do something right. They should have something on the negative side like lemons or something…maybe rotten lemons would be better. Therefore if 5 stars denotes great service then I would give them 4 rotten lemons out of 5 on the neg side.

This company has customer service issues. Bought the phone for my parents, when I switched to the monthly pay plan everything got screwed up, additional minutes never showed up on the phone etc. If you buy it for one time use for a trip or something maybe it is ok, but if you're going to need a phone for continued use go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. If you ever have an issue and have to get NET10 involved to solve it, your up the creek without a paddle.

We are trying to upgrade from one Net 10 phone to another model. We called the number to activate the new phone and transfer our unused minutes and the phone number to the new phone. The call center is obviously in another country who's first language is NOT English. It has been 6 days now and we do not have any phone service at all. The old phone was deactivated but we were told the new phone needed a new ‘chip' and it will be mailed to us. Then the new phone will work. No chip has arrived. Next person told us it would take up to 72 hours for the cell towers to ‘work' We should just wait. Now, today the person at the call center told us to call back in 7 hours. But he could not explain why we needed to call back in seven hours???We have tried to contact them by email and the reply says to call the same service center number. Net has no competant, English speaking people. And we still have no phone service on EITHER phone.

Well, I haven't had to deal with the customer support but i just got ripped off by net10. They say in all their FAQ's that if you buy time before your phone runs out it will be added to the end. I bought 450 minutes with 30 days left. It added the minutes but my days left changed to 90 NOT 120. It was suppose to add the days left to the end of my 30. WTF???? RIP OFF and LIARS!!!

I wanted to get rid of a cell phone bill bec I do not use the cell phone until the weekends. I went w/Net 10 and love the service. I actually get service in places that I did not w/Cingular. I have not had a problem w/the phone or dropping calls. I have had the service for over 3 mos now. Customer service has been fine and you can purchase minutes on line, on the phone or purchase a card. I have tried all 3 and all are convenient. It is easy to trac the use of minutes .10 a minute talk time and .05 for text msg. If you want a prepay and prepay will work for you this is a good phone. I just love my little LG phone. Had to give it a 5 bec I have actually no complaints.

We love the low cost of the Net10 service and definitely prefer it to the much higher costs of contract phones. It works great for us.

I've used Verizon for more than 8 years and finally got discussed with the ever-increasing costs/complex pricing/contracts etc. I decided to try out a prepaid plan and chose Net10 because of it's low cost. I wasn't expecting anything more than basic service and mediocre customer service. Two days ago, I noticed that all my newly purchased minutes just ‘vanished' after I had only used a few of them. I dreaded calling customer service to resolve the problem.Today, I got on their website at NET10.com and found the phone number to their customer service. I called them, waited on hold for only a minute or two, then was connected to a CSR who spoke English very well (not his native language, but completely fluent in English). Within two minutes, he determined that there indeed was a problem on their system's end that had deleted my minutes. He immediately restored them completely but also gave me an extra 200 minutes to offset the inconvenience to me.I was shocked, but very happy and impressed. This is counter to much of what I have read here. I was curious if my situation was typical. In these days, we Americans have come to expect crappy service from all corporations. Once in a while, I get a glimpse of the kind of service we used to expect and receive. This was one of those rare instances.I just want to give this company kudos for their good service today. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the future if I need service from them again.

My phone was broken so I bought a new one. Activation to use my old cell number through Net10 customer service has been nothing less than a total nightmare. Are these people clueless? or just incompetent. They sent me a new SIM card (took 5 days), but it was activated incorrectly. So now they are sending me a second SIM. I hope they don't mess this one up also. In all, it has been much more complicated, has caused me too much grief, and I literally have come down with a severe migraine headache. These people seem to have their hands tied when trying to solve a simple problem. I find the product good once it is set up, but this time… I would not wish this trouble on anyone. Please NET10/Tracfone Company, make it easier for your people to solve basic phone activation problems without having so many obstacles. I'm tired of this torture.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. After reading these reviews I see I am not the only one to experience over one hour calls to this nightmare of a customer service outfit just trying to resolve the most simplest of issues. Must be a kickback for them to keep you on the phone over one hour and resolve nothing. I will say the phone works Ok when it does work but it is definitely a disposable phone if you have to call customer service for any reason what so ever. I threw my Tracfone in the garbage because of the customer service and thought I would try a Net 10 phone, well they are they same people. I hope someone soon with some business skills and a sense of what customer service is will start a prepaid service like this with some customer service to back it up.

I think Net10 is great for those who don't want to break the bank over a cell phone, like myself. The service, so far, has been great in every location I've tried using my phone. Of course there are areas where signal isn't great, but that goes for most phones anyway. I've been a verizon customer and an AT&T customer before, and the signal has generally been the same. I have no complaints about the other companies other than a personal decision to switch to Net10 because of finances. I've always used pre-paid/pay-as-you-go phones because they are much easier to manage financially. Those who have steady jobs obviously can handle the hundreds here and hundreds there a month for service, not including the hundreds that people spend on the phone itself. I've never been to the top-dollar fancy-smancy phones, though I will agree they are nice. I bought a phone on Black Friday of this year (2009)and it has a full keyboard (unlike the previous phones I've had that were basic flip phones) and it's just as nice as those top-dollar phones selling for a few hundred. I was able to buy this new phone (black friday deal) for $40.00 including 300 bonus minutes. It was a fantastic deal, my brother bought one as well. The only ‘con' I would agree with is the fact that Net10 doesn't offer any special packages, like AT&T or Verizon. EX: I can call my brother, as we both have the same phone and network now obviously, but it isn't free for us to talk. Other than that, the going rate for messaging and phone calls is reasonable and not worth huffing and puffing over. I'm speaking as a nineteen year old college student making minimum wage. It is a wonderful plan for parents who have kids that like to communicate via cell phone. It helps them claim responsibility for their talk-time, and manage their usage. Going by minutes gives an incentive to use talk-time wisely and understanding the responsibility of refilling the minutes when they run out. This gives parents a break from all those breaking-the-bank ‘family plans'. Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars because it's reasonable and definitely a smart choice no matter the reason! 🙂

Excellent! You have to love roll over minutes. I had Net10 for 4 years. It was the best service at the time and still is. Till 2009 I used Net10 phone as an emergency phone and phone minutes were adding up. The phones they offer are quite dated, but I don't care. All fancy phones from other providers charge data fee and you end up paying $100 a month. Net10 costs me only $15 a month. Besides now they offer free phones- a phone cost $30 and it includes $30 minutes. State coverage is awesome- it works almost everywhere and no roaming charges. What Net10 could improve? I would love to see calls available to more overseas (cellphone) networks. Also if they could offer unlimited phone service for $40- $50 a month.

Worst customer service ever! I bought my son a NET10 LG flip phone for emergencies about a year ago and it seemed to work fine. So I decided to get the new Motorolla EM326 for myself. My first mistake was wanting to port my number. It took over 2 months and many hours on my landline to get it accomplished. They are located all over the world from South America to Asia and the connections are always terrible. When the first person couldn't fix the problem they would send me on to wait on hold for another and another. This process would always take over an hour, and end with them telling me that someone else would address it the next day. I was so lucky as to have them call me back twice, but both times I was not home and the message they left said to call them at the regular NET10 number. This was crazy since you could NEVER reach that person again. So when I would return their call, I would have to go through the same multiperson hour long game. I would again give 3 or 4 people all of my pertinent information just to end up with no resolution at the end of the call. These calls took so long that I began doing projects during them. One evening I sewed a quilt for my dog during a 2 hour call. Other times I sorted mail or cleaned house. The sad thing is that I thought it would be over once the number was ported. WRONG After using the first 300 minutes, I tried to call and purchase minutes with my credit card. No luck. They blamed the card, so I tried another. Both credit cards are fine, but their system has a problem. My husband made the last call to them for me and after almost 2 hours on the landline with them has a ticket number where they claim they will look into the problem. Meanwhile my phone has no minutes. If it isn't fixed by the end of the week, I'm switching! Also, my sons cheaper LG flip phone gets FAR, FAR better reception than the fancy EM326. Also, the EM326 has the browser button exactly where you are likely to hit it by accident when the phone is closed. You can lock the whole phone, but you cannot lock just the browser. Poorly designed! Besides bad reception the charge just doesn't hold like it should. The only plus possible is that it was fun at times to ask where the representatives were from. Some were places I had heard of, but none were places I had ever been. Please try to remember, that they are not the bad guys. It's their company your mad at!

I am 60 years old and own a computer business and have an extensive background in the telecommunication field. Net10 is in the top 5 worst companies I have ever dealt with. The only option to get something resolved is to call someone with a bad connection, that you can't understand even with a good connection. Biggest complaint is I can't buy minutes online because there is always something wrong with my account. Spend an hour on phone repeating myself like I'm talking to a three year old. Every time same thing.Other complaints: em326g phone has to be charged every day. will not charge from car charger.Net10 claims it cannot block text and browser from being used. BS!!! Everyone else can. What they mean is that they WON'T block them.Had Verizon for three years. charged the phone once a week, paid a flat $40.00 per month, no texting, no browsing, no problems with tech support. Net10, for the same usage is far more expensive than that. Haven't had the phone six weeks. If I could've bought $30.00 worth of time today, I would have paid $90.00 for phone time plus the cost of the phone.Best to stay away from these dirtbags.

The phone worked fine, but it wasn't always convenient to buy a new card so I signed up for the Easy Minutes plan online that would replenish my minutes automatically each month. BIG mistake. When I tried to transfer my Net10 number to another phone provider, they disconnected my phone but still conveniently continued to charge my account each month. I've called customer service multiple times, which is a joke. Customer service personnel are obviously foreign and will wear out the scripted response of ‘bear with me' while you're on the phone with them half an hour or more. Still haven't been refunded the money I was charged. I would never use their service again at this point. The hassles of disconnecting the service outweigh the very basic service I had before switching.

NET10 defeats the features of its cellphones, even if those features would make NET10 more money if enabled. For example, NET10 offers the W375 by Motorola; that cellphone can connect with your PC so you can upload and download phone numbers and even Outlook information, if you buy the Motorola software separately.BUT NET10 DISABLED those features, even though it would benefit by the customer having an easy way to store the 250 numbers the W375 allows. Then you'd be on the phone more, right? They'd make money by selling the Motorola software, too.So NET10's management hates the customer, however much it protests. Don't make the $600 mistake I made purchasing minutes for a cellphone you can't use because stupid NET10 management de-programs it.

I have been with Net10 now for over 3 years and had no problems until I upgraded to another phone due to my original finally giving out on me (just age, I assume). I bought another phone with the intent on staying with the company on the condition I could keep my phone number. Well, I kept the number, but realized that the web browser didn't work. After 2 months of contacting their customer service dept, which must be somewhere in India (my hindi is terrible, by the way…), a new sim card, and multiple instances of rudeness by their customer ‘support' representatives, they told me that I would have to change my phone number to alleviate the problem. After all that I had gone through to keep said number, I was highly disappointed that they attacked it instead of trying to resolve the issue correctly. Downright horrible way to handle a long time customer. I will definitely be taking my business AND my phone number elsewhere.

Net10 has improved their phones offered and website very much in the four years we have been with them. We recently bought our second phones because we wanted to upgrade to a bluetooth capability. We transferred our phone numbers online with no problems and all of our minutes and days were transferred with no trouble. We have always had all our questions and problems taken care of in spite of the foreign accents, and their employees are very courteous. I have the Samsung T401G comparable to Xtc and my husband has Motorola EM 326 comparable to Rizr, they are really neat phones. The service area and reception is fine, as good as other major carriers. I always recommend Net10 to anyone who doesn't us a tremendous amount of minutes. At 10 cents a minute per call and five cents per text on the Motorola, 10 cents per call and three cents per text it is way less expensive than our old Verizon service. By the way, the Samsung package said three cents per text, and I was being charged five cents to start until I called them and the had me input about six series of codes to reprogram the phone so I now pay three cents per text. If you get the Samsung, be sure to call and get it changed.

I have had net ten for quite a while now and I have to say I am shocked to read positive reviews. I have had nothing but problems with them, find the customer service horrible and hate the phone I have. I started with a Nokia cheap $29 phone and it looked cheesy but as it turned out was the better phone. My problems started when I tried to upgrade to a ‘better' phone. I chose an LG 600G. This phone came with a charger, and bluetooth headset. Zero instructions with it, and a bunch of odd plugs that I had no idea what to do with. The car charger never worked, and the phone would not hold a charge. After many calls, I finally got them to send me another phone and charger, and now the new phone does the same thing. I charge it, and even when it is off it loses it's charge in about one day. Not to mention it has horrible reception, and it is terrible sounding from the other end. I hate this phone and I am so sorry I got it. Also they have not been able to port my old phone number, so I lost the number and had to change my business cards because of it! I have enrolled my husband in the easy minutes plan and have had problems with getting his minutes to go on to the phone. I has been anything but easy! Most importantly and lastly, the customer services is so bad. You can never understand what they are saying and they always say the same scripted things, but never solve the problems. I have spent lots of time on the phone with these people and gotten very frustrated. So, sorry…as soon as I can afford it I will be switching to another company, cause this one epitomizes the saying…'you get what you pay for'

I was sick and tired of paying $80-100 a month for verizon, so I switched. It's not a great phone, no pics or nothing fancy. It has text msgs, alarm clock, calculator etc. But it's a $30 phone. I know that, I'm not expecting $100/month service. But it works. I never have had much of a problem with it. If it cost $200 for the phone and $80 a month, I'd be disappointed. It's great for the price.

If there was a 0 star rating, I would have entered it. I bought a prepaid phone and 600 minutes for a relative, and long story short, the phone didn't work, and several attempts to get Net10 to fix it were totally unsatisfactory. Happily, my credit card refunded the funds, but the experience was a total nightmare.

Net10 customer had great service with them until I upgraded to LG600 a couple weeks ago and it has been a nightmare every since then.I have spoken with every customer representative they have in this time frame and I agree with other person who wrote a review that customer service center must be located in India. I have wasted around 200 minutes doing what they are telling me to do and I can't seem to get any compesation or satisfaction from there service department. I even tried to e-mail them with no satisfaction.

10 cent calls to anywhere. Yeah right. I called there toll free number and was billed $1.00 per minute. I have sent many emaisl to customer service, but they are replied to by someone that either doesn't speak english or is a trained monkey. The emails tell me how great there service is and how it only cost ten cents per minute. Now I just keep replying to see if anyone will ever anwser corretly. Service and phones suck.

I was with AT&T -formerly Cingular for 5 yrs. and decided to go to Net 10 as we were not using the enough minutes to warrant a $120.00 cell bill each month with AT&T…YES customer service is hard to understand…I just tell them That I can not understand them and they repeat themselves untill I do!!!!We pay $30- per month for 2 phones ,and I have it set up to automatically be taken out of my account-Thus I don't risk losing any unused minutes or being deactivated– and if we need more minutes I just go online and add them for as little as $5.00 for 50 minutes…U can transfer your existing number as well…Oh and if you want u can buy reloadable cards at Walmart etc…for $30.00 and up, but hey if I were to do that I would buy the phone w/ 300 minutes for $30.00,only downfall is you have to get your number transfered if u want to keep old number.I have had my original plain jane phone (30.00) for almost 2 yrs. and just love it. Very easy to use and navigate.I have a digital camera so no need for camera, but u can buy flip phones w/ or w/out cameras as well.I charge mine once a week…My kids use it as an alarm and it never fails them.Cost is a flat 10 cents a minute and 5 cents per text.I know its the craze to text, but I have a home phone and would rather dial a number and talk then text-I type enough as I am a [powerseller on Ebay-so for texting its probably not real ideal if it will be used to text alot. Also I use it as a flashlight-has come in handy during power outages and to find the lock holes on doors in the dark etc…Also good as a responsibility teacher for teenagers…Get them one and tell them to put minutes on themselves by earning the money!…I learned the hard way and put our son on our AT&T plan-BOY HOWDY kids are smart he figured out that by texting a ringtown he could download it-even though I had blocked all…Thus with a prepaid phone theres none of that and no ringtone subscriptions being charged weekly!…Not to say That I have not told customer service in a rude manner to speak up and to speak English-This is why only 4 stars-instead of 5 were given. But for the most part I am thrilled with NET 10-also I live in a rural area and have no problems at all with reception-Only 1 other cell service has reception out where I live-which is AT&T….

I have had Net 10 phone service for over 4 years now. I just bought my second phone. (Samsung T401) Net 10's coverage is better than anyone else I know on their contractual plans. If you don't live on the phone, this is the plan for you. I use mine more now that I have a fancier phone…(texting w/ a querty keyboard). But I can not see going to a 2 year contract when Net 10 is so good especially for the price. I figure I will have to be buying 500-600 min. a month before I will consider another phone plan. Yes, there are a few downfalls, but NONE of the big companies or smaller ones are any better with their consumer complaints or coverage. I have even looked into AARP's plan and they have just as many if not more complaints. I'm sticking with Net 10!!!

I am former Verizon Wireless contract holder who was hesitant to switch to Net10 because of the decent service I had received from Verizion. Long story short: My phone number was ported within 36 hours. Reception on the phone is good. Had to call Net10 customer service due to a shipping error. The man was polite and fixed the issue immediately. Granted, his english wasn't perfect but most Americans you call for customer service don't have a grasp on the language either. Bottom line: 3 months and very happy.

I believe Net10 is trying to force me to use up more minutes this way…and I can't even see what time it is on the screen anymore! (I already am on the ‘Do Not Call' list for Net10, but apparently applying for that is just a ruse to distract you from the fact that just want you to contact them for info to harrass you more!!) It is enough for me to want to switch to another cell phone company!!!

Customer service is ok, not from the general US from my experience, but hey what companies customer service staff is. The rates are low for calls and text messaging. If you wanted discounts on night and weekend calls get a regular cell plan. The phones may be on the low end, but where else can you, buy a prepaid phone for $30 with 300 mins included? Nowhere, and your better off buying a new phone when yours runs out as the 300 min card is same price as new phone with 300 min. All you have to do is call Net 10 and transfer your old number and mins to new phone, a pain yes, but still cheaper than buying a regular plan. Even their sub company Tracfone is more outrageous. Well Net 10 now has the 200 min card, as im guessing they realized people were just buying new phones instead of the 300 min card. Decent coverage, actually better around here than the larger companies. Phones are alright for the money, and min's well that speaks for its self.

Something missing from these reviews is WHY DO WE HAVE TO LOSE OUR MINUTES? I don't like the idea of an expiration date. That's a CONTRACT! I seldom use all my minutes, then I have to run off and get another card. All cards, no matter what cost, should last a year at least, better yet, indefinitely. I don't use my phone very much. So it sure as heck ain't 10 cents a minute if you don't use up your minutes. That's misleading and false advertising. Otherwise, the Clamshell phone itself has been fine. I'm surprised this company continues to outsource customer service to foreign countries, especially in lieu of our economy. All of these companies need to understand that poor reviews online can and will, eventually kill them.

I too would give this company 0 stars if it were possible. The customer service is the absolute worst! The phone works sometimes at other times I it isn't working but you don't know until someone asks if you received the text they sent you. The first clue that this company has problems should be the fact that as soon as you call customer service there is a recorded message that says if you are not able to make or receive calls turn your phone off and back on. I went with Virgin Mobile, my teenage son has had their service for several years now and we have only had to call customer service one time and they took care of his issue right away. I use the unlimited calling and texting and Virgin Mobile is about $24 a month cheaper than Net 10 for that and it includes picture texting. I suggest you look around and make sure you are willing to deal with really poor customer service prior to purchasing a net 10 phone.

Sorry there is no zero star rating. Before I needed to use their ‘Customer Service' I would have given them a three star because they were doing what they were paid to do. Now, since I have had a problem adding minutes to my phone, and have had to use their ‘Customer Service', the rating would drop to a zero if possible. After you are on hold for a long time, someone answers, you go thru a series of checks, presumably to see why the airtime was not added as it should have been, and then the rep says ‘wait 15 minutes and the time will show up on the phone'. Not true. That is just an excuse to get you off the phone so they can give their ‘help' to the next customer's problem. I did this routine twice, with no results. The last time, the rep said he would transfer me to a different department that could help me. He wouldn't give me the name of the department, he said that it was ‘company policy' not to be able to provide that name. So, after being transferred and being on hold for about 15 minutes, I hung up. I think this secret department is where the customers go to die. I really don't believe that that transferred call would have ever been answered. After waiting a few more minutes I tried to call ‘Customer Service' once again, only to hear a recorded voice tell me that due to ‘a high volume of calls' my call could not be answered. So much for Net 10's service to their customers.I think Liz must work for the company, since she must not have English as a first language and she gave such a glowing review.

I have had monthly bills with, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. I now use only about 200 minutes per month so a $39.95 contract plus tax is a waste of money for my. There are many pre paid company's out there T-Mobile and TracPhone being the most expensive followed by Verizon and AT&T that charge one dollar per day just to use the service. I thought I would try Net10 because Walmart had an LG-300 for $14.88 with a free $30.00 card. I called customer service to activate the unit they were friendly and there was no problem. The phone has a good sound and a strong signal in my area, after using 20 minutes I called to port my number in from Verizon. They sent me a new sim card by FedEx next day mail. I dropped the new sim card in the phone and it worked with my old phone number with no problems. I like that I can see how many minutes I have by just looking at the phones display. I found that if you need to get through to customer service the fastest way when calling is to hit the activate a new phone option and then keep hitting the zero. My experience with Net 10 is just fine, activation, number porting customer service all good. The price of the phone was free with the $30.00 card, no drop calls good strong signal, no problems with number porting and customer service.I have no complaints and I am very picky. Net 10 gets 10 stars and is recommended to all, by the way I use to own a phone store.

I have been a net10 customer for about 3 years. I have upgraded phones, transferred my number and had numerous dealings with net10 customer service. The representatives seem very snappy, speak poor english, and work in an area that is very loud. There was consistently a lot of background noise on every customer service call I made. However, I was able to understand the instructions given, and was able to transfer my old number and minutes in about 30 minutes. I have also benefited from errors net10 has made with prepaid cards and their unlimited plan to the total of about 200 dollars. So in summary, I don't think business is run well, but I've experienced great phone service at a low cost.

Being a low talker, I don't need 4000 minute plans. I did the math, and at less than 10 minutes of talking a day, Net10 couldn't be beat. I got a simple Samsung clamshell, and transferred my old number within 24h on their simple but functional website. I also setup a 15$/month automatic payment (150 minutes, which roll over). If I need more minutes, I can buy them online. The phone is very simple, but functional, especially for what they're supposed to do: To allow a conversation. If you need apps to know the temperature in Djibouti, to boil an egg, or to compulsively upload images to facebook and are willing to pay 100$ per month for that, then go for it and get an iphone.I stick with Net10. Coverage is good (AT&T), texting is cheap (5 cents), and each minute is 10 cents.Only problem is that I cannot send international text messages. That sucks.

O stars. I must have gotten one of the 20% defective phones that is acceptable in our consumer economy. I certainly got 100% defective customer service. It took over two hours and three calls to where-ever (English is not my first language) to get the phone activated. Finally got a supervisor who could understand and speak American English. Did not get the five minutes of ‘practice call' time back. So just sloughed it off. Was just thankful that it was finally working. However, the packaging of the phone promoted ‘$30/300 minutes BONUS' With each of the next three airtime card additions, 100 Bonus minutes would be added. Great promotion until you try to cash in on it. Stonewall! That promotion is ‘old packaging' and no longer in effect. Suck great service that I hung up on them. They were not too interested in keeping this customer. Will get another carrier when I have used all the minutes. She has not been able to even set up her voice mail yet…this, after months of contact with employees over the phone, promises of sending replacement parts so that they could ‘walk me through' how to fix the damaged phone…which has never been dropped or anything, just defective. I let the minutes lapse for less than 30 days for them to try to get this straightened out, but when I added more minutes, the phone still didn't work right and waiting over a month now for a replacement part, that I'm sure will never come. I was also promised the 60 days I just paid for would not start until they sent the part and assisted (on the phone) with fixing it. No response to email contacts to service problems and apparently now my phone won't even turn on, but is fully charged! Guess they lied about wanting to help! WHAT GIVES WITH THIS COMPANY????

I have had Net10 service for over 3 years. I have found the service to have good coverage, with me getting out calls where Sprint and T-mobile fear to tread. My first phone zeroed out and I lost 60 minutes. Customer service walked me through putting some codes in the phone and I got back 300 minutes, which made me happy. Much later, the phone zeroed again and when I called I was told the phone was out of warranty, but that I could buy a new one and port the number. For $30 I got a new phone and 300 minutes, plus 300 bonus minutes to apply in 100 minute increments. So they paid me $30 to get a new phone. What's not to like? And battery life, I charge it once or twice a week, while my friends have theirs on the charger all the time and keep running low. Those 5 cent texts to any place on the planet are very nice. One glitch, it charges me 5 cents to send a text, and if it fails to go through it charges another 5 cents to resend. This can happen in a very weak signal area. I am sorry to see that several people have had trouble with Net10. Sometimes you do get a clunker with things.

I've had NET 10 for 4 years now, started out with a Trac Phone and went to NET 10. Until they were able to automatically activate your new phone and allow you to keep your same number it was a pain. However, I upgraded my NET 10 and called them to activate my new phone and to keep my old number and the minutes I had and they had me up and running in 15 minutes and I've had no problems. My husband had no issues doing the same thing thru NET 10 Customer Service. In fact I have never found this service bad at all. Before they could easily let you keep your old number it was terrible, now, within the last year, it's improved wonderful. I found, a few years back, that the issues I did have were due to old malfunctioning cell phone and not the service. i am amazed at what I am reading here about NET 10 dissatisfaction, but then again there are alot more people with the service then the people complaining and people only complain when they have issues and there really are not many of you when you realize that thousands have the service. I find verizon prepaid a rip-off and the others are no bargin either. If you use a cell phone alot then you should have a contracted service, but if you don't use one alot then NET 10 is a good service. No cell service is perfect. I found NET 10 Customer Service to be good, never had an issue with them. Just an FYI, Trac Phone is almost 25 cents a minute, thats why I went to NET 10 a few years back and yes, I know it's the same company. NET !) phones come with a sim card already in them if you purchased it in a store with the 300 minutes. I had no issues just transferring my old number to the new phone and they transferred the minutes I had on my old phone also. Usually when you start having issues with adding minutes it's the cell phone malfunctioning and not the service. keep that in mind people.

They sent me 20 minutes of airtime this morning. To be fair, this company tried hard to help me. And, I really have no way of knowing how common my phone problems are. I'm adding another star for them adding minutes.

Well, Just a few minutes ago, I had a thought to check my online account to see what it said about my phone status. They had an update for me. I entered 2 codes and now my phone works again! yay me! I did write them and told them that I wasted about 20 minutes of airtime trying to figure out why my phone was not working. I'm adding another star because…now my phone is working! Yay!

If you don't mind being on hold for a minimum of an hour while the person on the other line constantly puts you on hold to ‘speak to a supervisor,' then this is the company for you. They are extremely disorganized. If you ask a question you will get put on hold again since the person can't understand you well enough to answer you. My advice is have coffee and a snack or dinner ready because you'll have plenty of time to eat it. You can even do a crossword puzzle, read ‘War and Peace,' do your nails, etc. You get the picture. Net 10 VPs don't.

I ported my old number. That took a week of no phone service and 6 frustrating calls to tech support. I was about to give up when they transferred me to someone who knew what was going on.Yesterday, my daughter came into my office and asked me if I got her text. Well, now my phone won't call out. Whoever tries to call me gets my voice mail right away.Tech support made me do all of the code entry bullcrap again, then they give me a ticket number and tell me to call back in 72 hours if the problems does not fix itself. The hard to understand(poor english) tech support really does not bother me. What bothers me is that all of the first level technicians have the exact same check list they make you go over, then they transfer you and make you go over the exact same code entry stuff.I got a net10 for my son. His worked great. It was their basic model and he did not try to port an old number.I haven't decided what to do. Get a new phone, or try to call tech support over my lunch hour.

I've had my little basic no frills LG600 for about 2 months and have never had a single problem other than I need about 600 minutes per month which totals 60 dollars per month which means I think I'm switching to Cricket's unlimited 30 dollar per month plan. But Net10 is wonderful if you don't need to switch over a phone number or ever talk to customer service about anything!

I have been a Net 10 client for over a year. I purchased the phone for my 9th grader to use.Recently, I purchased a new LG flip phone that came with 300 minutes. I called tech support (India) to have my existing phone number transfered to my new phone and the remaining minutes transfered too. That in itself was a cluster…. took three days and was totally without phone service for two days. So, I notice that the new phone sounds like I talking in a barrel of water…. so I call tech support again. I got the run around for two days before I was told by a manager in India that ‘no replacement will be sent, your phone is fine,'. I am DONE with Net10. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge for the new phone. If they aren't going to make it right… I'm not going to pay for it.I am now on a mission to spread the word of lousy customer service. Maybe if Net 10 used people that could SPEAK ENGLISH, they would not have so many problems.
