Absolutely terrible service. My phone was deactivated even that I was subscribed to one of their ‘Easy-Automatic-No Problems' monthly contracts that add minutes to your phone automaticly.Called their service center FIVE times to solve the problem and nobody seems to be able to help. Everytime I got the roundaround. I was finally told to give them 24-48 hours to solve the problem and that I will be contacted. Yeah! Fat Chance! That was 4 days ago.Beside that, service center seems to be in India which poses the additional problems of bad connection and different accents not always clear.

They are fine if you remember to recharge your minutes before they expire. If you miss it by one day, you are hosed. Expect to be down a week and end up with a new phone number everytime. Missed my expiration by one day 3 x this year, and each time ended up with the above scenario. 3 hours with tech support and without a phone for a week.

I purchased a standard $30 Net10 phone in August. The set up went fine but less than 15 days / 50 minutes of call time later the phone quit working. After several L-O-N-G phone calls with customer service they said they would send me a replacement phone. The new phone arrived in about 7 days but it only had 100 minutes and 10 days of service. When I called customer service and asked about having my days and minutes restored I got the run around. I was going to buy two more phones for family members but this has me having 2nd thoughts.

Looks like the people giving Net10 bad reviews are the one's expecting more from their plan then was intended, it's supposed to be for the casual user and for me it's perfect had my phone for 18 months except for one payment issue it's been great.Recomended to my wife but it wasn't for her not a casual user but liked it while she had it.

Rather then by 300 minute card for my W375 I buy the refurbished W375 phone with a 300 minute card and get a spare battery, charger and phone. Also still I pay 2.5 minutes for texing 5 pages.Another thing is with the W375 phone you can text many Countries.Net10 says I am not allowed but their other phones say mms restrictions.I been texting the UK,England and Germany for more then a year.Yes the service stinks.Over three hours to get close to 1,000 minutes on my other W375.May be an older phone but I text the hell out of UK people I know there.Net10 support sucks but the W375 will do global texting for 5 cents

No fine print. 10 cents a minute period. Excellent signal anywhere. A very good service, and very inexpensive. I was paying $122.92 a month for the last 9 years with AT&T for 2 phones and only using about 90 minutes a month until I realized I was getting screwed. Simply put, you can’;t beat Net 10, it is the best.

This service is perfect for me because I don't talk on my phone often. Net10 is far less expensive than having a traditional cell phone plan. I've found their customer service department is exceptionally helpful and friendly.

In the five years that I have had Net10, I would have given them five PLUS stars. However, since August 10th, they are lucky if I give them one. What a fall. I bought a new phone to replace one that I had dropped one too many times, and while it still worked, it was looking pretty ragged. I thought a camera phone would be nice. Got the phone but it wouldn't work in my home. Seems that they are now on Cingular here and only verizon has service. I called repeatedly and was told that they would need to upgrade my equipment in order for Verizon lines to be used. They then sent me the same identical Cingular sim'd phone. New sim was promised, but not sent. Multiple people promised multiple solutions and failed miserably to follow through. Finally it was determined (after having been ‘escalated' for about the fourth time) that a SIM card wouldn't work at all, and now a THIRD new phone is being sent. I should go online to ebay and sell this collection of LG600's that they have sent me. . .The ‘new phone' was supposed to have arrived yesterday; it was MAILED yesterday (maybe, will see when it arrives). A representative told me that on Sept 9th they had a new released phone (LG260C) that was comparable to my LG600, with blue tooth and camera. Then a representative told me that was an error and that I would get a LG200. This is the cheapest phone that they have and can be bought at walmart for $19.99, but he says it retailed for $49.99, hence, he is going to give me ‘compensation' for the $10 difference. . .meanwhile, I have used my entire initial 60-days service without service. I could list all the people, and the numbers, and the dates of the misinformation, but why bother? I loved net10 for five years. Guess it is time for a change and as soon as I use these minutes (assuming they ever get here), I will move to one of the new start-ups. My daughter is using Straight Talk's new $45 unlimited talk and text service which is carried on Verizon lines. I almost hate to tell her that this is a sister company to Net10. . .

For a ‘communications' company Net10 offers the worlds worst communications both technically and personally through their'customer service' line. The phone voice quality is horrible as is the 800/877 ‘help' line. The rating is listed as 1 star only because there is no option for a negative number

Acutally 0 stars. I have the LG600G and my SIM card is registered on the T-Mobile network. I cannot access the web from my home and my phone is always roaming. I asked to be switched to the AT&T network, but the technical support people seemed to be clueless. One guy even had the audacity to tell me that the provider is Net10 and not AT&T. After being placed on hold for 45 minutes off and on on another call, I was told by the 2nd clueless guy that technical support doesn't work on my sort of problem on the weekends, and that I should call back Money. I instead filed a complaint with the FCC. I hope to hear from them soon. I migrated over to this company from Virgin Mobile because of VM's poor coverage area. Also, my husband has had Net10 for years without problems because he is on the AT&T network. I am sick of Net10!!

One star is too many for this horrible company! I paid for a phone and minutes online and received them in two or so days. That is where any satisfaction ends! The phone would never charge/light up/turn on so I called customer service…..BIG FREAKING MISTAKE!! After multiple phone calls, most being over an hour I was told that I needed to go borrow a friends phone!!! What!!! After having to be demanding and angry they sent me a new charger, but had to activate my phone thus starting the clock ticking for a broken phone that I can't use. The new charger didn't help, and even more hour long phone calls I could received no help, no phone, and no refund. I was told I couldn't get a refund for a broken phone! So escentially they stole my money and won't let me return their broken product!! AHHHHHHH!! Plus the people in customer service don't speak very good english, keep asking you the same questions, and put you on hold over and over and over and over and over and over. My last call ended by them asking if they could place me on hold I said no that I needed them to deal with this right now and they hung up. Not worth any amount of money or time. By the way I have been shopping online for years and this is the first negative post I have ever written towards a company or product EVER! That's how bad they are. I am sure their phone would have been what I needed, but it never even turned on ever. Zero stars from me.

I bought a net 10 lg300 (one of the cheapest) after me and my fiance broke up and was in need of cheap service. After reading some of these reviews I was ready to run for the hills! I've had GREAT service and coverage with my little phone. It has been very cheap and reliable. Yeasterday I was trying to lock it and, the phone shut down. had to call customer service to get the PUK code. I was so scared cause everyone said customer service was a nightmare. I called at 8am, they answered maybe 3 rings after I was transfered and my phone was unlocked in less than two minutes. VERY HELPFUL and polite. Better service than my verizon. I guess I should learn not to put to much stock in all reviews. Different ppl have different expectations. Mine are: cost, reliability, worry free. Net10 met all.

Absolutely no problems since I signed up about a month ago. Added a second phone this week. Phone # ported over from Verizon in 48 hours without a hitch. Did all the activation and sign-up on web, so no contact with customer service. Have used it from NYC up to Maine & NH with excellent coverage, equal to Verizon. Bottom line: $30/month (we are casual callers) vs. $73/month with Verizon for 2 phones. Hardly seems worth getting too upset if a phone goes bad. If you buy the LG for $30, with the 300 minutes the phone is essentially free. I am saving contacts on the SIM card, hoping I could use that to transfer phone numbers if I need to change phones or upgrade later.

The Net10 customer service located in Philippines is not helpful at all. After more than 10 calls (over 1 hour/call) for 20 days, the supervisor Roglin (ID 56477) finallyreleased the FedEx track number, so we found the sim card was deliveredto a wrong address. At the end, I lost my accumulated 300 min. due tothe delayed delivery of the sim card.

We have two Net10 phones and have had no problems with service or activation. Net10 provides us with better service than all the other providers we have tried over the past 25 years. The only problem with Net10 so far is trying to unsubscribe from their email list since they send several messages a week to remind you of offers and the status of your plan.We also use Skype-Pro along with Net10 for international calling. The Net10 phones are simple phones that do what they are intended for, making voice calls.

Call this Part 2. To see the SIM card runaround I got from customer service that I posted on 9/2, scroll down about 30 posts. My previous Net 10 phone ran out of minutes, so I went to Big Lots and bought a remanufactured one for $20, which came with 300 minutes and 60 days of service, which is a $30 value. I get home, and get online to transfer my number to the new one. I follow the directions step-by-step on Net 10's web site, but it didn't work.CALL 1: So, I call customer service and tell them I want to transfer the number. They said it looked like my previous phone had expired. I told them it still had time left, but I tried transferring the number on the Internet. They said to wait 15 minutes, turn it off and back on, and see if the transfer was successful. If not, call back.So I do what they told me. Nothing. CALL 2: I call customer service again and tell them the story. The lady gives me a series of codes to punch into the phone. It seemed to work, because the number appeared on the new phone, and the time balance was the way it should be. I thanked her and hung up.I decided to try and see if I could make and/or receive calls with the new cell phone. Short story: NO. It was a nice day, and I had somewhere I wanted to go, but I decided I would first get the problem fixed.CALL 3: The thrust of this 45 minute call to customer service is that they somehow determined I had a bad SIM card, and they would need to send me a new one. Great, I thought. It only took 6+ weeks and a million calls (see below) to get the last SIM card they promised me. As the call dragged on, I just wanted to get going about my affairs, but I knew it'd be SIM card suicide to not let the call take its natural course. The guy asked me for my ‘billing address.' I gave him my address. He then asked if the shipping address was the same as the billing address. I said it was. He kept me on the line while he and his supervisor filled out the needed paperwork to get the SIM card rushed to me in ‘3 to 5 days, but at most 7.' I asked him, ‘Do I have your word that I will receive it soon?' He said I did. That evening (this was Sat, 9/19) I got home and listened to a long message on my home phone's answering machine. It was basically Net 10's people assuring me the SIM card was on its way. I thought ok, not terrible.Wednesday came, and no SIM card.CALL 4: I decided to call and see why I hadn't received the SIM card yet. I fully expected them to say it was only 3 days and to be patient. The female CS rep, after a copious hold, told me that they hadn't sent it because they did not have my ‘correct shipping address.' I then told her my address. She thanked me and said they would get it out right away. I asked what address they had. She said, ‘We had the address you just gave me as the billing address, but the shipping address was blank.' Geniuses! Of course they wouldn't want to roll the dice that I was one of the 99% who have the same billing and shipping addresses! But wait, there's more! I asked her, ‘Had I not called today, would your company have ever called me or made any other attempt to either ship it to the billing address or somehow find out where to ship it?' She said no, they would not have done anything had I not called. Can you believe that?I'm still waiting. Hopefully not forever!

TERRIBLE customer service! I bought an LG600 from them back in May 2009 and had it replaced three times because of problems with the phone itself. I was promised a Motorola em326 three times by customer service and after three weeks have still not received the phone to replace the garbage LG600. I was told that there was a problem at the warehouse and could not get it to me. This after two weeks waiting and no one calling from NET10 to inform me of this. Warning: DO NOT GO WITH THIS SERVICE, AS THEY ONLY PROFESS TO GIVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, AS IN REALITY THEY DO NOT!!! I've reported them to the BBB, JD Powers, and the FTC for there lack of customer service ethics.

Previously had ATT 2 year contract and was charged $15 – $20 in taxes alone for a $60 family plan with rollover minutes that I never used. When my contract was up I had 2000+ rollover minutes! Now I have all phones set up on a $15/month plan. Very economical without a contract.

I have used Net 10 for about 2 years. The original phone was great.. no problems, so I also got my husband one. He hardly uses it because he can't hear it and they tell us that his phone can't download ringtones. The plan is great. It's easy to understand and you can add minutes with your phone. Although, customer service is a joke. Plan to spend at least an hour on the phone with someone you can't understand and that won't be able to fix the problem!! I changed credit cards and my phone wouldn't download minutes. After 4 represenatives (each taking an hour each)telling me they fixed the problem, it still didn't work. I screamed and yelled for a supervisor who finally said my new credit card was not entered! I'll never get those hours of my life back!!I also went from downloading ringtones to not being able to. The told me I was never able to as I played a downloaded ringtone over the phone to them.. they still said I can't download. They are the most frustrating people I've ever dealt with and am searching for a new phone!!

Awful funny that the store i bought it from has only been open for 6 months. Very dissatified and I feel that its false advertising, especially since I asked the customer service rep that activated my phone about these bonuses and he said that i would recieve them. The supervisor Perchie operator #58591 told me there are no bonus minuets to give. Even though i was quoted differently when i activated the phone This is false advertising,

I use mine as a second phone and only make 3-4 calls per week. For a pay-as-you-go phone it is pretty good. I find it much much better than the trac phone I had a couple years ago. Ten Cents a minute is nice since there is no confusion over calls will cost. I also like that the screen always shows how many minutes I have left. Buying minutes through their website is very easy. I have found a few areas where service is unavailable, thus only 4 stars. Overall I am pleased but I would probably go with a contract/cell phone plan if I was going to use a cell phone as my only phone.

I had automatic minutes where once a month they added time then charged your credit card. Everything was fine until I canceled my credit card and TRIED to change/add my new credit card. Seems as long as everything is ‘basic' net 10 works well BUT don't try anything different…that's like going through the drive through and asking for a number 4 with no ketchup!!! LOL!!

This is a pretty good service, I have had no problems and I like that you can add more minutes and your time to use it is extended, not like the others, where if you buy time, you get your 90 days or whatever from that point, with Net 10, you get roll over minutes and months. I only have one complaint and that is no international text messaging, that is the only bad thing about it, I might consider changing just because of the text messaging thing and also you can't call the Philippines, but if you don't care about international, then this is the service you want. The phones are decent too.

I began with their entry level phone (Nokia 1600) which worked well, and the 10 cents per minute fit nicely with my budget. The problem began when I wanted to upgrade to a flip-phone (Samsung T201G). I switched my number to it, but it would not work. I was on the phone more than an hour with tech support, entering code after code after code. Finally, it seemed to accept my number and I could make and receive calls. But I could not set up the voicemail. I continually received a message that said ‘this mailbox is invalid'.So I called tech support – I was put on hold, and held for TWO HOURS by the clock. No one ever took my call. I have emailed them, I have filled out technical reports online, and been given ‘ticket' numbers, I can't get them to respond at all. So now I have a more expensive phone, and no way to use its features. I am so frustrated. Also the phone didn't come with a manual; supposedly you could click on a link and ‘download' the manual. Well, that didn't work either. So they emailed me a ‘manual' by pdf. file with the WHOLE MANUAL ON ONE PAGE. A mouse couldn't read the font….! I am sending a copy of that ‘manual' and my story to my Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.Beware Net10, everyone!

I also have net 10, just recently I upgraded to the new Motorola EM326g phone and I can't set up my voice mail. I've called them and sent emails but it still doesn't work. I'm going to wait and see if this problem gets fixed, if not then I'm switching to T-mobile Prepaid and I will use my Motorola EM326g as an mp3 player.

I have been a user of Net10 since January 2006. For the most part, I am pretty much satisfied. Little annoyances here and there, but overall not too bad. Most of the time, when you buy a new Net10 phone, it comes with 300 minutes and 60 service days. I've found that I can often find them at discount stores for less than the price of a 30 min/60 day card! Therefore, most of the time, when I am in need of more minutes, I just buy a new phone and transfer the number. It's a bit of a hassle, but what's better: New phone and minutes for less, or old phone and minutes for more? :)In July, I needed minutes. I saw a Net10 LG flip phone in Big Lots for $25 (with 30/60 plan included!), so I bought it and transfered my number, as I often do. Unfortunately, for some reason, the phone wasn't a good one. I could sometimes make calls, and sometimes not. I called customer service July 26, 2009, and they diagnosed it over the phone. They said that I needed a new SIM card, and they would send it to me. ‘You'll receive it in 3 to 5 days, but maybe as many as 7 days.' The next week rolled around, and no SIM card. I called and asked where the SIM card was. They said they were sorry and would send one right out. I probably called 5 or more times to follow up and/or tell them I hadn't received it yet, during August. They kept telling me that when I do get it, they would reward my hassle by giving me ‘compensation minutes' after I reactivate the phone with the new SIM card. Finally this past Sunday, I called them and told them to forget the SIM card (as I knew I'd be up for more minutes (read: a new phone) soon) and just give me some comp minutes for my hassle. They offered me a whopping 20 minutes! Big deal. I told them what they could do with their minutes. I discarded the case number and was resigned to deal with the problem as it came along. (I could usually make calls, but I often had to dial multiple times before it worked out. With previous phones, the signal was always great, and I never had this problem.) So, today I get the mail. Guess what's in there? Yup, In a giant priority mail envelope was a new SIM card. (This thing is small. With the accompanying plastic, it wasn't the size of a credit card. Yet they used a priority mail envelope! Coulda used a small envelope.) So, I pop it in and call to reactivate the phone. No big deal. I said, ‘What about the compensation minutes I was promised for when I receive the SIM card?' After many minutes on hold, the customer service guy told me, ‘We don't have any record indicating you are entitled to any minutes.' I threw up my hands and said, ‘Yup, I'm a liar,' sarcastically.Bottom line. When things are going well, Net10 is great. But, if something goes wrong, good luck getting it fixed!

I'll have to say I was skeptical about net 10 myself, but being sick of being bent over by tmobile I decided to give prepaid and net 10 a chance. I will have to say I am quite impressed. If you are looking for a fancy phone with internet and what not, net 10 is not for you. if you are a casual cell phone user this is perfect. Always ten cents a minute to talk, five cents to text. I have had no problems with call quality or dropped calls what so ever. I am in the allentown, pa area and I beleive net 10 in this area uses at&t's towers.

Great coverage, reliable phones and cheap rates makes this company stand out from the rest. International calling at only 5c/min extra and international neighbors feature makes it an affordable option for anyone with friends or family in Canada or Mexico. Always 10c a minute. The other companies advertising 10c/min rates often have strings attached like a daily-use rate or you have to subscribe to a specific plan first etc.

Net 10 offers the worst customer service of any service provider I have ever conducted business with. I received a defective phone, and after 3 hours and 3 disconnections, I was finally directed to ‘Treasure' in returns. She provided me with the wrong address for returns. I had to go through the entire process again (explain defect, provide serial and phone #, order #, etc). Why don't they have a record of that from the first conversation? I have no confidence in this company and will send the phone back immediately. I hope to receive my refund, but I honestly do not have the energy to place another call to confirm. I am very happy to pay a little more $ to have the luxury of speaking with an English speaking customer service rep in person at the AT&T store. The conversations I had today….you can't make it up! Oh, and after being on hold for 30 minutes, I had to go to a meeting. I asked ‘Angel' (I was talking to her the first time around) if she would call me back when she resolved my issue. She agreed. When I spoke with ‘Treasure', she stated that they are not allowed to place calls to customers. OK-who's lying? who doesn't really care what they say to customers as long as the customer leaves them alone? and, why can't they make outgoing calls? I think it's time that Americans insist upon better customer service from English speaking reps who are held accountable for their actions!

Well my family is not out of the office they are around at these hours and want to hear from me. Net Ten has no night time support. If you are low income like me, but family is all you have, find another phone service.

A couple points. Fred states below that they are not a US company… last I looked, Florida is part of the US. As for TBone, he has hit upon the one key plus for Tracfone and Net10 – they select providers that work best in your area. As I've stated below, ATT, Verizon and Nextel IDEN are the strong providers in my area, and my phones have been ATT (the code is right on the blister pack). BTW I am now 5+ weeks without my Net10 phone.

This is an update to a review I wrote 2 weeks ago. 2 of several weeks I have been without my Net10 cell phone and number that most people use to call me. Take a look at this sequence of events, and ask yourself as someone considering Net10/Tracfone if you want to deal with this nightmare. Tried to activate a Motorola 176 phone, but it was DOA. After over an hour, they chose to replace it. Received an LG1500 that was DOA. Another hour+ call, and I am sent another LG1500.. that fails within a week. Since I already had an older Motorola Net10 phone, I asked if I could use it – but was told no, since it was not activated. Being despirate, I pay another $30 and reactivate the moto phone. But wait, it won't activate! I receive a message that my SIM card is no good. After another hour+ call, I am sent another SIM card. I place it in, activate it, and it works. Whew! Then I call to transfer my number from the defective phone to the one I FINALLY reactivated… and they can't do it. They WHAT?So days later after another hour+ call, am waiting for yet another SIM card. Since ATT, Verizon and Nextel iDen are the only reliable carriers in my area, I purchased a Verizon PAYG phone to get me by as it was cheap. I did not expect to be using it a month later, or I would have picked a cheaper carrier. I look forward to the day when I have my 1100+ minutes used up…. and leave for a competent PAYG cell provider. Keep my experiences in mind as you shop for phone and consider Net10 or Tracfone. All is good when nothing goes wrong, but when something goes wrong – you're in for a real treat.

I normally don't write reviews, but this time, I strongly felt the need to do so. I recently purchased Motorola W377 from net10. The phone I received was defective, and I was told by the customer service personnel (after an hour of trouble shooting), that I will be receiving a replacement phone. When I received a replacement phone, it was a wrong model–LG300. I called in to report this mistake, but it took them another hour to find out why I received a wrong phone. The supervisor I spoke with told me that I should be getting a replacement phone in 3 to 5 business days. After not getting the replacement for more than a week, I called back to find out no replacement had been sent out. The customer support couldn't even track my previous conversation with the supervisor. The personnel assured me that I should be getting the right phone (Motorola W377) in the mail in the next 3 to 5 business days. When I received the replacement, guess what I received in the mail? LG300 again!!! At this point, I had no trust in this company, but since I wanted to get the model of phone I ordered in the first place, I decided to report this mistake. The customer service personnel told me that my previous issue with receiving the wrong model was because the personnel who helped me at that time did not enter all the information required to make the change… Anyhow, after about an hour of conversation, I was told that I should definitely be getting Motorola W377 this time. Finally almost a month after placing my initial order, I received a replacement package. Now guess what was in the package? It was still not Motorola!! It was LG600. Since the functions on this phone are comparable to the Motorola, I decided to go with the LG. But, when I activated it, I got no complimentary 300 minutes. So, again I called the customer support. After 2 hours of trouble shooting, I was finally able to receive the 300 minutes that should have come with the phone in the first place, but get this–I received only 35 service days, instead of 60 service days as they advertise, because I had already activated my (defective) phone nearly a month ago!!!!! That just doesn't make sense to me. Does it to you? It's true the phone was activated, but due to the phone being defective and net10 kept sending me wrong models, I never had a working phone in my hand. But, they are saying my service days had been still counting down. I just cannot believe the poor quality of service this company provides.

I have had Net 10 for years, and I decided to upgrade my phone to another Net 10 phone and that's when my trouble started. Apparently, my prior service worked off of the AT&T towers – no problems, once they switched my phone they put me on T-Mobile towers and it was a problem from then on. Since the switch I have had many dropped calls, and the LG phone I upgraded to has a mind of it's own. It will turn itself on and off at will, and when you flip it open sometimes none of the keys work at all until you take the battery out and start again. In an emergency, I don't want to have to fiddle with that. I just bought another Net 10 phone to try and see if my issue is the phone or the service itself. If the new phone doesn't give me better results, I'm jumping ship. Right now I'm in the 72 hour ‘waiting period' without a phone until they get the switch done.

My wife called them directly and got in touch with a person in a foreign country. They told her they could not solve the problem and gave a code number and instructed her to call the next day. I am phoneless but at least I can make an emergancy call anytime. WoopieI heard of this thing happening to another person as research pay as you go phone companies, but did not listen. In truth I enjoyed Net 10 for the years I did spen with them. I hated when I started to pay for more minutes with much less time to use them. I consider that EVIL! I was going to live with that, but now this happens. They are theives and if I could figure out how to have them arrested for stealing my money in these difficult times we are living in I would. The air time I bought NEVER added correctly to my phone. The wait on the phone was ALWAYS longer than 20 minutes. It ALWAYS took more than one hour to solve one simple problem. You think that's the end? NO. They would promise you one thing, and that would NEVER happen. You would have to call again, go through another hour to solve the problem.Case 1: I bought a new phone. They sent the wrong phone. After a long wait, I got the right phone but it was broken. Again, after many days of waiting, I got a functional phone with a wrong SIM card. I called and argued. Finally, I got the right SIM card. The whole process took me more than a month. Case 2. They sent me the wrong SIM card for my parents' phone. Because I was going out of town, supervisor X from the company told she would make sure I received the SIM card in 1-2 days. After 4 days, I was still waiting for my SIM. Supervisor Y from Net10 told me I would received extra minutes for the long wait. On the 5th day, I called again, and supervisor Z told me there was no documentation for my previous 2 conversations. So…. either they all lied to me or I was talking to the air. Bad experience. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I wasnt getting the advertised rate of 10cents per minute for calls, I've been getting charged $1.00 per call and text messaging is supposed to be 5 cents per text, but I've been getting charged .50 cents per text. Then today I went to send a text and it said delivery failure, so I resent the message two more times and was charged 50 cents per text with the same delivery failure message. I called my phone and it said that phone was no longer active even though I just added 300 minutes to it two days ago. So I called the costomer service # and that was a joke. They couldnt find out what was wrong, but said that it would probably take an hour to reactivate and that someone would call me back in an hour to confirm, that was almost two hours ago. Guess what? No one has called and my phone still doesnt work. Even better then that, I called back and the toll free number is no longer in service. Wierd huh!

Overall I have been satisfied with Net10. Their 10ยข/minute plan with no access fees works well for my needs vs. most of the competitors. Also in my case, their provider (ATT in my area) has excellent coverage. But there are some issues I've run into that leave me frustrated. While I am satisfied with basic phones, I've had 3 defective phones in a row, and a 4th some time back. Each time I call for customer service, I plan on over an hour spending time with the overseas call center. Support is friendly, but very long and tedious. Each time I call, I ask myself if this is worth it. Mind you, one of the duds was an LG400 and 2 were an LG1500. So sure they take care of it, and pay for return shipping as well, yet I NEED my phone as I use it for work. Net10/Tracfone have so much going for them – yet if they had a solid competitor, I'd move in a minute. For that combination of pros and cons, I'll give them 3 stars.

I only had to talk to 2 people this time. Finally I got a supervisor – Caroline – when I insisted on speaking to one after being put on hold only 4 times. She volunteered 20 days of airtime for all of my inconvenience. I insisted that I want a minimum of 45 days. She countered with 30 days. I told her that was not enough. She advised that she was not authorized to give me any more time. When I asked for her manager she advised that her boss wasn't working and if I wanted to speak to someone, I would have to call the corporate offices and gave me the toll free number. I am now going to call them and ask for more time as this runaround is making more and more inconvience for me. If you guys had just done what I asked to begin with or had a better telephone service center, you would have saved enough money to give me free usage for a year minmum. I just made the call to ‘corporate' – TWICE. A recording came on after the first ring. It was, ‘Call and talk to fun people at 1-800-424-4400 that's 1-800-424-4400. I called. It was just what I thought, a sex line requesting money. Depending on what you want the charges range from $0.99 to $2.99 a minute or maybe higher. I hung up before I could hear other charges. I too would give 0 stars if I could. I added minutes to my phone because my time was running out. I do not use my phone fast enough to run out of minutes in the time frame. After I added minutes I realized I would have to use up my minutes within 30 days. I now have almost 500 minutes that need to be used in 30 days. I kept trying to use the phone and it wouldn't work. I finally looked and saw that it said Emergency Only. I called the CS dept. I was on the phone for an hour and 15 minutes and got disconnected. I called back and asked for the person I was speaking with previously and they couldn't transfer me. Of course I had to go through all of the information again and do all of the standing on my head in the driveway stuff to see if the phone would work. I was on the phone for more than an hour again. I was told by the rep that he was 95% sure that my phone would work but to shut it off and wait for one hour and turn it back on. Yeah right. I was so angry that I couldn't call them back and ended up waiting 2 weeks. I could not afford my blood pressure to go up any higher. I couldn't understand them and they got angry. The phone connection was terrible and I was on my land line phone because of course I could only place emergency calls! I finally got on the website and discovered I could email them. When I started filling out the online form they wanted me to pick the issue from a drop down. I put in Inoperable Equipment. The next drop down had a list of specific issues. One was Emergency Only. I emailed and the next day they emailed me back. Fast response and told me to go online blah blah blah. When I turned on my phone everything worked fine. But now I only have a week to use up my 495 minutes and then I have to buy more minutes to get the time. I requested an extension of 120 minutes for all of the lost time and inconvenience and they just responded with an apology for not being able to extend my time but maybe someone in customer service could help if I would only call them. I think it may be worth my mental health if I just throw the phone away and go with another one. Maybe one where I can understand customer service and they know how to fix a phone.

Adrian, nobody is being racist against Net 10 service providers. It's a simple fact if you pay good money you expect good service. Many people did'nt receive that. Just feel lucky you did.

As someone that used to work in the telemarketing business, let me say that while english is obviously not their first language, they care far more about their jobs than if you had someone in the states helping you out. Quit being racist towards these people, they're doing their best to help you out and if you had the patience they can usually help you resolve your problems. As for myself, I've lost or broken 4 phones since I got the service, yet my costs haven't increased as the cost is only $15 a month and I've transferred all minutes from my missing or dead phones. It's great value for people who want a phone they can use anywhere in the U.S., I can't imagine how much worse my bill would be with another prepaid deal.

I stumbled into Net10 out of need to get a throw away phone for my sister-in-law who was traveling and had no need for a cell phone otherwise. I was a bit skeptical but found one on sale at one of the box store that included an LG phone and 300 minutes (2 months) all for $19.95 plus tax. As it turns out I ended up keeping the phone for my wife as the connections are better than my Verizon $40 a month deal that only gives me 200 business hour minutes. The Net10 phone I have is an LG and although low end and not as good as my Samsung Verizon phone it serves the purpose and the reception is clear as a bell. When my Verizon contract runs out I am switching to Net10!
