Have had the slider for about 5 days now, activated it over the net…LOVE IT…I have actually had a couple ppl ask me about it and they are shocked when I tell them the low unlimited price! I have been on myspace and facebook a lot also linked the phone to twitter for updates which was very easy. I live in far west Texas and the coverage is great!

The Good: $45 unlimited everything. Verizon prepaid network. Available at any Walmart. The bad: Customer ‘service'. Number orting. Phone limitations. (Crippled features, mostly 1xrtt web/no evdo except $300+ R810c, cannot put outside phones on network. Web frequently does not work on phones.

I love the great rate for unlimited. And so far, I have not had any problems with the actual signal. HOWEVER. The phones that they offer, are phones from other providers just downgraded to where you can't download items from the browser. Also, you can only send contacts via bluetooth, not images; or ringtones. Now, I have not had the LG, which I am going today to trade it in. I have had the Samsung R450c, Motorazr v3a, and the Motorola W385. The Samsung you can not text, listen to music or anything while on the web. You can not do anything while a message is being sent. The actual number keys are very small. And when you first put your SD card in there, DO NOT put format card. That deletes everything on it. The V3a is VERY light. And feels like you could break it in a second. The screen is very easily smeared. When searching for a contact you can only search by the first letter. The rest you will have to scroll. And the keys do not feel like you're pushing them. And the Opera Mini reads this phone as a R38 (What does that say? That this phone has almost the same specs as that one.) The W385, The texting is horrible. I text with 2 hands, but with this phone you can not do that. It will not register what you are pushing. And the browser is very slow, and my Gmail will not even come up. I can't save pictures from the internet. And for all these phones you can not download Opera mini. Or anything from the internet at all. I just honestly think they should not be downgrading phones. Offer regular ones. Not only that but finding a cover for them is difficult. I got one for just a V3 and it would not fit my V3a. LAST BUT NOT LEAST. My customer service experience with them. IS HORRIBLE. So I was at work, and I was getting a ringtone. Well I had got interupted. I went back to it, finished my cc info. Then it said ‘log in expired' And blah blah. I never recieved the message to download it. So I got another one.. Well on my bank accnt. I saw that amnt charged. Called them same day, said it was not charged just an authorization.. 3 days later.. Never fell off. Called them again. They said since I ported my number from that phone to another they did not have any of the information. So I was like well can you atleast send me the ringtone.. They are like ‘We don't have proof you purchased it' So they are making me send proof in the mail. UGH. Not only that but last night I called and it said to try again later, no agents availible. What kind of service is that?! And I am a Customer Service Representative. This is not customer service, at all. What kind of company tells you to call back, instead of letting you hold for the next agent? And what kind of company can not find any of your information? EVEN by searching for your card number. Not only that. But most of us Straight Talk users, are AMERICAN. Not Indian or Phillipinne.

I kept porting it by pressing *22890 and about 30 minutes later I was on Straight Talk. If you have the $30 plan and you don't want the pre recorded message of ‘You have 16 hours available for this call' call Customer Service and they will remove that message for you. It is also important to remember to not sign up for auto refill UNTIL YOU NEED TO ONLY SIGN UP WHEN YOU NEED MORE MINUTES otherwise they may charge you twice. This company is AWESOME. The Verizon Network beats ATT coverage in my area hands down. You can't go WRONG WITH STRAIGHT TALK.

Coverage is good and the the price for the phone is great, BUT trying to get decent timely service has been a headache for me. On Nov. 19th, I requested a phone replacement because to Samsung R451C I have does not for some reason goes to the Browser. Until this day, 12/10/09, I don't have a replacement. I have had to call constantly, 5 times now, to get resolution. after the first call, it was that the process was totally dropped. After the second call, it was claimed that I gave them the wrong address. after the third call, it was put on hold for some unexplained reason. after the fourth call, it was escalated to coporate, but no one pursued resolution. after the fifth call, which is where I'm at now, they promised to RE-escalate the issue. Dude, what up? I just want a replacement phone. how hard can that be for this company that is supposed to be linked to the largest retailer in the world? If anyone out there is experiencing a similar problem and found a way to resolve it, please let me know!

It sounds like there are some ‘bugs' to work out with the system. At one time I had TRACFone and it worked but was too expensive, so I switched to Cricket, which didn't work when I went to CA from Texas for a vacation. When the bugs are worked out I will go with ST. But would like to maintain my cricket phone number….

Try formatting the microSD card on a computer before inserting it into the phone… Insert it BLANK first, do not download to it. After it recognizes the card (and if there is a problem, try shutting the phone off and then removing and reinserting the battery), you will find the phone created file folders on the SD chip… load material into the appropriate files, (such as MP3's) and you are good to go…

Straight talk customer service sucks, it seems their standard answer to problems is wait 24-48 hours then call us back if still having a problem, and guess what? I always have to call them back. I have spent long periods of time trying to get the problem solved. The phone service seems good, no problems with calls or texts. Their website has problems, just try to get a ringtone thats a laugh. Everytime i click the purchase button a message always tells me there was a problem call customer service, of course they can't figure it out. One staff will tell me there is a problem on their end and of course call them back in 24 hours. I call back tell them what happened and they tell they had no problem but they don't know what the problem is. Customer service needs to get their crap together, that seems to be their major problem

The dropped incoming call after 30 seconds or so is an ongoing problem with at least THREE separate Verizon prepaid network resellers including Straight Talk, Page Plus and Air Voice Express. It is the underlying fault of the basic Verizon reseller network and not the phone or Straight Talk's direct fault. It has been reported on Page Plus forums on Howard forums exensively. Your report just confirms the suspicion that it is not just a one reseller issue. Moving to another Verizon reseller like Sun Mobile or Talkaway probably won't solve it if they are affected too. It has been reported as early as September and seems to be worsening . This could become to Verizon resellers what the texting issue was for Boost mobile. It is hard to proclaim the country's most ‘reliable' prepaid network if it has this problem consistently.

Got my phone 2 days ago. Ported in my old #, took about 2 days and I talked to cust. service twice during that time and had no problem with them. Haven't been able to get on the web but that's not very important for me. Just need a phone that I can talk on and not spend a lot of money on so this works well for me. Also was able to send text and pics to my daughter up in oregon, she's with att. All in all I'm happy with the service.

I have had the Samsung R451C for three day now and have been very happy with all phone features except the 10 second messages that play before all out going calls stating the remaining talk time prior to connecting; this is very annoying but since I don’t make many calls I can live with it, hopefully maybe one day it will go away, the activation was easy and quick as I didn’t port my phone number.

I ordered 2 phones online that were in stock. I paid extra for overnight delivery and was sure to order before their 3pm cut off time so my phones would be here the next day. I waited all day and no phones. They didn't bother to send them out until that next day and I got them 2 days after placing my order. All that money wasted on overnight delivery. Customer service told me that I should have refused the package and they would have refunded all my money, other than that there was nothing they were going to do..I was out all that extra money. So people, overnight delivery does not mean overnight delivery.

To buy ringtones again, etc..I said NO way. I want games i can download. Neone know where those are at. I found ringtones etc, but i want games for my phone.

So far so good. It's a phone. I can call people and receive texts. I don't care about email or facebook or mp3's or ring tones or whatever. It does just that. As far as porting my number… I ported it from Verizon and it took around 13-14 hours. They say right off the bat it may take a few days so you need to be prepared to be without your loyal companion for a few hours. The ten second message before calls? A small inconvenience for saving 50% on my cell service. It's a new service, so I'm prepared for any growing pains they might go through. As far as the ‘international' customer service… the sad part is, get used to it.

Have had one account for about 6 weeks and one account for 1 week. We had easy set up on both accounts–even the one on which we ported a number. We have had great customer service–knowledgeable and friendly staff. We have had no dropped calls and no problems with connecting to the internet. We followed the recommended directions. We have lowered our wireless bill costs and we got a better wireless plan. We have one unlimited account ($45) and one $30 account. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Straight Talk for domestic wireless service.

Hey Mike R., When I very first signed on, they told me it would take 2-7 days to transfer number, but actually they do nothing. What you can do is call them again (I know – the English). They got mine going the day I got the phone. They have you put in the number you are wanting to transfer and keep having you put in number *22890 (I think is the number), then turning the phone on and off and within 15-30 minutes it was working. I love ST but the only problem I had was that 90% of the time when someone calls me, it would cut us off within 30 seconds. I live in So. Indiana and most people around here are complaining about that. So maybe in a year (hopefully sooner), they will get that straightened out and I will gladly go back to them in a heart beat. If you live in an area where it is hard to get a signal (or at least one bar), then this is the phone to have. I have been with all the other providers and no one else compares. I have gone back to AT &T for now, but I have to take the phone outside to talk on it, but with ST, I could sit on the sofa in the house and talk. Time will tell how things will go. detailer04To verizon.net

Well, I purchased the new Samsung R810c. The touchscreen phone. I ported my number from at &t. I had to call customer service for activation assistance and it went very smooth. The person I talked to had a bit of an accent but it went smoothly. I tell you what, it cannot be worse than the half-aTo To customer service at &t provides. What is funny is that I get frustrated by the scripting at &t CS uses, and still get nothing fixed. And with at &t my bill was never what it was supposed to be. Anyways, text and internet work excellent on the phone, and the signal in central Ca. is great!! The phone was a bit expensive, but since my bill will be about $40 cheaper each month, it will pay for itself in a few months. Highly recommended.

OK so who wouldn't jump at a chance for unlimited everything for $45, right? I'm giving this service a one star for right now but only because I can't give it a zero. Might update rating later but for now….wow this is frustrating. On the phone two days ago for 30 minutes having to ask the cs rep to repeat what they were saying constantly as I could not understand their english…was it english really? Asked for same information over and over again until I just bailed out of the call and decided to try again in a couple of days. Fast forward to tonight…same thing…different CSR. Can't understand a thing she was saying but…tried to transfer my Net 10 number over. I was given assurances, after put on hold to talk to supervisor, that the Net 10 phone would work up until the time of the transfer. 20 minutes later I am welcomed to the ST family. Hung up and voila'…my Net 10 phone sez the SIM is unregistered. ST phone sez I don't have enough money in my account to make a call so….I'm phoneless and at the mercy of ST until the transfer is complete which they said could take between 24 hours and 7 days….Called ST again (different CSR…same broken english) and asked to just get given a new number but was told that would take a couple of days for that to happen and I need to just give it some time. Whoa! Not a good start. I don't like being at the mercy of a company that is being handled like this. I can't believe I don't have a phone!

I started Straight Talk (ST) in July with the Razor, bought the $30 plan (1000 min./ 1000 texts / 30 mb web) and it is well worth it. The texting is great and can talk to people clearly and hear them clearly. I live in an old mobile home and surrounded by trees, so with all the other providers (At &T, Verizon, etc.), I could only get one signal (if any) inside the trailer and had to talk outside if I did get a call because the signal was so bad. But with ST, I believe they are the BEST when it comes to needing a good signal. I can even talk in the middle of my living room with it. But I only have one problem with their service. 90% of the time when I RECEIVE a call, about 30 seconds into the conversation, the line gets cut off. So unless you know who is calling and their direct line, you can't call them back. Calling people are fine, it was just receiving calls that was irritating. So in November, I bought the Samsung R451C phone to see if I would have better luck by switching phones and I still had the same problem with getting cut off after 30 seconds. I had no problem porting my number at the beginning and I don't use the web, so don't know how good that part works, but everything is great. But now because of getting cut off all the time, I am having to switch back to At &T and port my number back. The signal isn't as good at all, but as long as I talk outside it is fine. Hopefully in a few years ST will have worked out that service problem and I will gladly go back to them. The last time I spoke with them, they have had many, many calls about the service getting cut off. Is anyone else having a service problem like I am having?

I have the Samsung R451C phone and am still trying to optimize it. The manual instructs how to load music and mentions the need for a USB data cable. However there is no specification for the cable connector and I can find nothing on line that designates the cable. Nor can I find, so far, a compatible cable from local vendors. I called customer support and spent time with a rep who tried to find the information and enlisted her supervisor to no avail. Other than this irritant, the phone and service seem to be working fine. I can make do with a microSD card reader but would prefer a cable. Ok.

I'm very interested in ST. I've been using Net10 for the past 4 years and I have been really happy. I found out about ST and It seems that the plan their is more appropriate for me. I text a lot and ST gives 1000 texts and call minutes for $30 a month when I was getting 300 minutes every 2 months ($30) with Net 10 (I had to buy a new phone card every month anyways because of the many tetxs I send). I'm pretty set on a phone that I want. Because I'm buying it with my own money, I want to find out as much about the service that I can. Is it true that ST only gives service in the zip code you activate your phone in? Does it cost minutes to use the web browser? How do you view how many minutes you have left? Lastly, someone mentioned something about getting a response text to indicate that the message was recieved. Is that true, because if it is I think I would get annoyed very quickly. I understand that their cs is horrible, and I plan to try to port my existing number if I switch to ST. Is it just luck of the draw trying to deal with cs?? xD

No web service at this time. Called next day and reported problem with web access and got the ‘wait 24-48 hrs' line. Called again after 48 hrs. and got same line but ticket was escalated I was told. Next call, 48 later, I was told problem would be fixed in 24-48 hrs. Six hrs. later it starter working. The moral of my story is don't give up. I submit this review upon personal experience with StraightTalk. I had problems with my first R451c in which I could not get the browser to work. ST sent me a replacement phone at no charge. Once the phone was programed I still could not get the browser to work. However a special request on my behalf as to ST checking their comm with verizon regarding the r451c being a prior model of cricket. I guess that cricket failed to share data info with straight talk because browsers were not linked on this particular model. r451c models should be fine as far the browers go. In a nut shell: Straight talk is viable and appears to be a good company. Since they are apart of Tracphone. Just a thought for others to follow. Be patient with them be cause they are a new company under tracphone. However I will not recommend giving out credit card info being that the call centers that you will encounter are located in the Phillipines and Guatemala. Purchase cards from you local Walmart or dealers.

I posted here 2x and was pleased with it till I got half assed answers about losing my number from ST. Today and yesterday i worked to port OUT my number from ST. What a nightmare. They actually wouldnt release it at all till ny new company called them with a 3 way chat and their supervisor came on to ask ‘Why do you want to leave ST'? I never ever heard of being asked why you are porting out of a company before. (none of your business was my reply, but if you must know, you cant give me a straight answer about losing my number) Anyways yesterday they wouldnt respond, today they wouldnt respond to the request. Finally got them and my new carrier on same line and said ‘relase the number NOW or I will file a complaint with the FCC and FTC. They finally released it. So for those you wanting to protect a number youve had a while and thats VERY easy to remmeber, Id take caution with this company at all means. It is the best deal out there and I lost 45.00 but its worth it to protect my number of 10 years.

Emailed Elston and had browser working. Called CS to have annoying ‘minutes left' message removed. Couldn't be happier. Well worth it.

I've been using Straight Talk with the Motorola W385 for 3 or 4 months now, and I'm extremely pleased with it! I had minor issues at first – the web browser on the phone didn't work (which sounds like a common problem). I did have to call customer service a number of times to get it fixed, but it was a quick call each time and really wasn't a big deal. Since then, everything has worked perfectly. If you want a basic plan with enough minutes and texts to be useful, you won't find a better deal than the $30 plan anywhere. I only wish they had an even cheaper plan as I never come close to using all the minutes/texts. With the Verizon network behind it, this is worlds better than the old 2-year AT &T contract I was stuck in!

Ordered a phone from Straight Talk yesterday with free overnight shipping. I receivd an order conformation and an e-mail telling me someone had to be home to sign for the phone. Guess what, I waited and no phone arrived. I called Straight Talk customer service and asked for a tracking number. Turns out the phone had not been shipped yet; so much for overnight shipping. They would not even give me a shipping date. At this point I canceled the order and requested an refund. They debited my account within an hour of the order; I was informed a refund could take weeks or even a month to process. From the sound of it they may still send out the phone whenever they get around to it, and I will have to refuse it and wait for a refund. SAVE YOURSELF THE GRIEF, STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY EITHER DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING OR THEY ARE JUST DISHONEST.

Well Im glad to see that Im not the only one with the texting problem. I also cant recieve texts from any of my contacts unless they are on the Verizon network. Im extremely frustrated with the lack of knowledge and stupid answers I recieve from CS. I also have issues with my browser. Ive spent countless hours on the phone, with at least 14 different people, trying to get these issues resolved, but I dont think thats going to happen. Its obviously an issue with them and their service. I actually just got off the phone with Corporate office of Tracfone. I figured I would let them know how awful my experiance has been with ST. The lady I spoke told me she would look into the problems and get back to me however, Ive been told that same line several times over the past few weeks. This experiance has been one hell of a nightmare, one I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy. Im going back to my old carrier– Ive learned my lesson $45.00 unlimited talk, text, and internet if only that statement were true.

I just switched to Straight Talk from Verison a few days ago. I bought the Motorola W385 from Walmart and then decided to call to activate it instead of activating online. I had read that using the online process could be a problem if you want to port your number. The call went very easy. I spoke to a nice guy that was very helpful. The process took about 10-12 minutes. I opted for the unlimited plan and decided to set up autopay with my credit card. After taxes the total is $46.88 a month…NICE! I choose the Motorola W385 phone because I liked the simple classic design. The phone works great and the calls are very clear. The menu system is a bit dated but hasn't been too difficult to learn. About the only thing I find a negative is that when I send a text message I almost immediately get a text message telling me that the text message I just sent was delivered. I found this to be kind of annoying but not a big deal at all. At the end of the day, I have a good solid communications device that works well and is costing me less than half what I was paying before. A win win situation if you ask me. Straight Talk…highly recommended so far!

Tried the LG slider phone on a $30 plan. Started off bad right away. They ask you for your zip code so to give you the phone number. I got an area code nowhere near where I live. I asked the rep to fix this, but the call was dropped and I called back to find the phone was ‘shut off' by the rep. I threatened to return the phone to Walmart so they put back the $30 on my account and reactivated the phone. I called 2 more times to see if I could change that area code, but they were adamant: NO WAY. I can change the whole phone number next month when my 30 days is over. Nice. Now I have to tell people another 2 new phone numbers for my phone. From talking to the reps at ST, I can see this is just what you pay for. Not worth much. I have yet to figure out any other ‘catches' in the service. I am looking for getting hit with ‘roaming charges' to eat up my minutes but with 1000 minutes that will be hard to do. The phone looks to be promising but it lacks SD card slot and buying acessories will be a chore. And what about the phone going out? That could be the next ‘catch.' I try it for less that the return policy term and most likely take it back. Customer service here is a deal breaker.

The coverage area is great. But if you have a problem and have to call customer service, look out!! I tried to purchase a ringtone from they're downloads and the site took my info AND my money from my account. Then the site kicked me off without downloading the ringtone I had just purchased. To make a long story short, it has been two weeks now and five phone calls, all promising a refund in 24 to 48 hours and still no ringtone and no refund. I know it is only $2.99 but its the principal that is important. How many other people have or will have the same happen to them? I can live without the money but when I buy a service it should mean something to the people who provide it. $45.00 a month plus tax is a good price but NOT if the SERVICE IS LOUSEY!

Straight talk. I live in a little town in North Texas, 20 miles away from nearest large metro area with spotty coverage using Sprint network To approx $55.00 per month for 450 minutes per month. Today I got my straight talk phone LG290 utilizing CDMA which Verizon network uses. All these reviews made me a little uneasy but I charged the phone per instruction then made the call to customer service to activate even including the necessary data to import current number from old provider being careful to pre-check everything I would need during the call. About a 5 minute wait & 10 minutes of providing the data the rep asked for and writing down the rest of directions to activate and the call was done. Seven minutes later my old phone did not work so I completed the steps on new one to complete the activation and wha-la, the new phone with Straight talk and all features are up and running – recieving texts, web, sending and recieving calls…… PERFECT. NO COMPLAINTS. I simply followed all directions that came with box (overnight fedex) and the reps directions. I could not be happier. The rep even mention the time frame to port my current number would between 7 hours and 30 days. Wow, only 7 minutes later and I have a great phone, Web and lots of bars for $30.00 per month.. Good luck all.

Phone works ok, but customer service is horrible. I just signed up for the service less than a week ago & already having issues. Intially signed up for the $30 plan just to try & see if it would work in my area. I've been trying to check my account balance for the past two days. Called customer service & they appear to be unconcerned & simply read from a script saying the system is down and to check back. I find it hard to believe I can't check my balance online AND customer service apparently uses the same system to check balances so if one system is down, they have no backup. Also difficult to find someone that speaks English. I did manage to get a phone number for what they said was their corporate office, 1-800-876-5753 if this helps anyone. I'm gonna try calling back during their business hours.

Straight Talk was the worst choice I have ever made in my mobile career. It started off well, they ported my number over in a day, but I had an issue with my phone not being able to text. I figured not a big deal until I exchanged the phone. In the 15 min driving back from walmart my account was deactivated and the balance removed. They gave my phone number to who knows who and when I talked to customer service they couldn't even get me a number in my area code… Another important note: you only get service in the zip code you register the phone in.

Some Straight Talk about Straight Talk. Verizon is NOT going to pull the plug on Straight Talk. You probably read some older post that misinterpreted a statement by Verizon. Verizon simply was saying that they would take their brand name off of it after six months if it got too successful. Well, guess what? The Verizon brand name is no longer on any Straight Talk box. Straight Talk can stand on its own now without the big Red logo in the corner because everyone knows it is Verizon anyway. Verizon themselves have stated that their deal with Tracfone to run Straight Talk is a ‘multi year deal'. It is not going to go away anytime soon, though it has not been around that long. Not with the recession and the combined forces of Walmart, Tracfone and Verizon. Each literally the biggest giant in their respective fields.

All I get is ‘It will be activated in 24 to 48 hours'. What a crock. Combine my lack of phone service with their painfully polite, to the point of condesending service reps and I am ready to sue them for damages to my business. I was on the phone with them for almost 3 hours yesterday and still no activation of my phone. Appearently, the only way customer service can contact the department that uploads the ported numbers is to send an email. EMAIL? Seriously?!! Then they say ‘this shoule be resolved in a few minutes to a few hours'. Then they change that to 24 to 48 hours. What a crock. Untilthis company gets a clue about how to get their customer's numbers ported over, and about how to manage internal communications, be perpared to wait and wait and wait and wait… If I could give them less than 1 star I would.

Just completed my first month with ST. I've got the Samsung R451C; the slider one. I ported my number from Tracfone, and had my new phone working in about 2 hours. Everything on the phone worked great except for the web browser. That was ok with me, because I figured I could get it fixed later. After calling CS (they are VERY nice, but can't speak English at ALL), they said that my phone was defective and that they would send me a new one. No problem, I thought. It was never sent to me. After calling CS around 5 or 6 times, and having them say they would send me a new one every time, I decided to email Tracfone, since that is who ST is run by. I am happy to say, my web browser now works. If your browser doesn't work, just shoot Tracfone an email, and they'll fix it. Over all, I am very happy with my phone. The price per month is GREAT! Sure, the phones aren't iPhones, but they work for me.

I thought this phone would be a wonderful thing because I haven't had a phone in years. However, I found out that Straight Talk is a terrible service. Between the phone and the card, this purchase added up to about $130.00. First and foremost, I tried to activate it by myself. After many failed attempts, I finally gave in and called Customer Service. The automated voice told me my wait time was ten minutes, which I was okay with. But when I finally got to talk to an actual person, It was an Indian man who I could barely understand. He called me by the wrong name and told me to do the same thing over and over again! What he was telling me to do was exactly what I had a problem with. Then out of the blue he said something like: ‘Hold on, please let me transfer you to another department.' Yet again, a long wait. When I was finally talking to a real person, yet again, it was a person who I couldn't understand. This was a Spanish-speaking female. She, like the man, told me to do the same thing hundreds of times. I had to repeatadly ask her to repeat herself because her ‘star' sounded like a ‘four.' After repeated attempts at the problem I was having, she told me she had to talk to her superviser, which left me to wait for about 5 minutes. Finally fed up with me and my phone problem, she told me to try again through the next 24-48 hours. The only thing I can say about this company is that their service is terrible! I do not reccomend you get this phone. You'll only be frustrated by it.

At first, I was a little leary about porting my number. I have the Samsung SCH R451C and it works great. I've had Blackberries, Windows Mobile devices and this little Samsung will do almost everything I'm used to with the fancy ones short of push email delivery and tethering. But at the cost, you can't complain. I called customer svc once to remove the ‘you have … minutes available…' message. I got a live person within 2 minutes, he was very polite and he even stayed on the line while I made a test call to see that the ‘minute message' was gone. I've never gotten through to a live body at my postpaid carrier in under 2 minutes! The port took about 3-4 hours and then I was up with the browser and text messages and all outgoing calls, as well as some incoming calls. I had to go to US Cellular's store to get them to fully release my number for the port (just a confirmation of my choice to dump them). I'm saving over $50/month and couldn't be much happier!

OMG!! For those of you who havent had to experiance speaking with customer service because your phone is working correctly, BE VERY GRATEFUL !! This has been a nightmare. This is my second phone,I thought the problems I was having had something to do with the phone. But thats not the case. Ive had this service since the 15th of Nov and I wish I would have read the reviews before I ported my number that Ive had for 8yrs. I cant recieve incoming text messages from anyone unless their Verizon customers which is extremely bizzare. I cant use the browser only once in a while and when I can, forget trying to check my email, that never works there is always an error code. My calls get dropped in areas they shouldnt because after all this is Verizon right? And has anyone else noticed the battery life on the LG290C is horrible!! I dont even have to use the phone, and before I get home from work its dead. Both phones had that problem. Ive called CS every day 2/3 times sometimes more. With each call to CS I more dumbfouned by the response I get as to why my phone is having these issues. Its always hold for 2/3 mins while I speak to the other dept and this lasts for sometimes more than an hour. After that I get a reference number (which I have several) and Im told to call back in 24/48 hrs. When I call back its the same crap all over again except I get a different reason for my problems. And yes 1 review had posted you cant please everyone, however this isnt just 1,2 or even 3,4 people. This is the majority of people who are having problems. The kinks in this service should have been taken care of before it was put out to the public. If these 2 powerful companies Walmart and Verizon along with Tracfone cant get it together and fix this horrible service, than get rid of it. For those of you wondering if you should try this service, my answer would be NO NO NO!! Not until they fix the system they have and get people answering the phones who speak English and know what they are talking about.I wish I could give this a zero but it looks like that option isnt available.

If they only can SAY — a time that you will KEEP your # and not some lame thing— like its a 50-50 chance u may or may not keep it— that sux then I would stay with them for good. Also I read today– that verizon can pull the plug on ST if they start to lose customers to ST– which is a good idea for them to do being how HIGH verizon costs and ST uses same towers as their Pre Paid map (VZW) and its a huge coverage area compared to all the other pre-paids out there…it wins hands down in coverage. ATT go phone coverage is not even in alot of the western states…
