Verizon Wireless Prepaid Customer Service has a decent reputation, although their number is nearly impossible to find. If you look on their contact page, you'll find everything except an actual phone number. So if you're one of those people who would rather look through a forum, a million FAQs or do a live chat with a representative, then definitely check out their Contact Page.
If, however, you want to try and reach a live person and you have a Verizon Wireless Prepaid phone number, then call this number:
The number has an automated answering service which will require you to put your phone number and other details in so they can direct you accordingly. If you don't have a number, you can just hold on the line and eventually the auto answer will loop to give you options to activate a number. However, this takes a bit and it's probably better to call the number that came with the phone.
If you don't want to deal with customer service or don't feel like waiting, there are a couple for basic tasks you can do from your phone:
- Check Balance – * 611
- Check voice mail – * 86
- Make a payment – #768
Alternatively, you can contact Verizon by mail at:

I have heard from a lot of people that Verizon's customer service is a little slow, and sometimes rude, but most of my dealings with them have been fairly pleasant. Like any call center, it likely depends on who you speak with.
