iPhones Return to Virgin Mobile
July 21, 2015/
Virgin Mobile has sort of looked like an unloved (or perhaps just forgotten) stepchild in recent months. Unlike Boost Mobile, Virgin hasn’t really seen many updates from its parent company Sprint. Not only are its plans a little out of date, but its phone lineup seemed a little shabby and in February, the company completely removed iPhones from its stock. Well, it looks like one of those issues, at least, has finally been fixed and iPhones are now available from Virgin’s website.
Currently, Virgin is offering the following phones:
- iPhone 6 16 GB Space Gray – $549.99
- iPhone 6 Plus 16 GB Gold – $649.99
- iPhone 5c 8 GB White – $299.99 (currently out of stock)
- $20 – 300 minutes, unlimited texts
- $35 – unlimited minutes, texts and data (first 250 MB at high speed) OR 300 minutes, unlimited text and data (first 2.5 GB at high speed)
- $45 – unlimited minutes, texts and data (first 1 GB at high speed)
- $55 – unlimited minutes, texts and data (first 3 GB at high speed)

Will they be offering the 64 Gb versions of the 6 and the 6+?
No, the largest versions available are the 16 GB.
As you know the iPhone 6, 6 plus and 5c have returned to virgin mobile USA’s website. Great news for people like me who have been waiting. But there’s a catch, the iPhone’s appear in stock but they won’t let you check out. After numerous calls to their customer service and several hours of back and forth with their Facebook CS I was told that their website is incorrectly displaying them, I was told by one CS over the phone that they don’t currently have stock. Yet their site says they do. I could understand if this were a fleeting issue but it’s been going on for 6 days.
I’ve been with virgin for nearly 16 years and I feel like I’m being jerked around, bc if I can’t get a new iPhone then I’m bailing to another carrier. But virgin is just trucking along, not fixing this issue.
I hadn’t actually tried checking out with these devices on Virgin’s site. Good to know. Seems like Sprint has pretty much abandoned Virgin Mobile. Kind of sad. Thanks for commenting and letting us know!
Virgin mobile made some bad mistakes years ago. They used to have a plan that was $25 a month and had 300 minutes and unlimited texts and truly unlimited data. I mean for truly unlimited data this plan was very good. Then they capped the data and they raised the price to $35 a month. People were still grandfathered in the $25 price but then they figured a way to stop that. All phones that were made after 2012 were not eligible for the $25 plan even if you had it before. You would have to go to $35 a month. People started to shop around for alternatives . T mo started one for $30 a month that doubled the data that virgin was offering so people went there. This was a very bad mistake that virgin made. Now they lost all their customers and it will be very hard for them to make a comeback. I give them less than a year they will merge to one of the other Sprint prepaid names.
