Prepaid phone carriers, whether they’re MVNOs or subsidiary sections of the Big Four, are absolutely flooded with entry-level devices which aren’t going to really impress but should still get the job done. However, sometimes you don’t need a flagship, and that’s where phones like the ZTE Maven come in. This entry-level device isn’t going to be turning any heads and feels a little cheap in your hand, but still should be perfectly functional for most light users. Here are the specs, for those of you who are a little more tech-minded:
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • 1.2 GHz processor (snapdragon 400)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 8 GB memory
  • micro SD card slot (up to 32 GB)
  • 5 MP back camera
  • VGA front camera
  • 2,100 mAh non-removable battery
  • 4G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS connectivity
The ZTE Maven is available immediately from AT&T’s prepaid brand GoPhone. The device is currently selling for $59.99, which isn’t a bad price. You can buy one here. AT&T’s GoPhone has some decent prices for plans and offers pay-as-you-go as well as monthly unlimited plans for both smartphones and prepaid phones. Prices for monthly plans range from $30 – $60.
