Cricket readying TXTM8

Looks like it’s time for yet another phone to hit Cricket wireless. This is the TXTM8, which you can see at mycricket.com. It looks like a reissue of the Verizon Blitz, which is the UTStarcom TXT8010. Behind the stubby face is a full QWERTY keyboard which supports mobile Web, email, games, and Cricket navigation. Also featured: stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and an MP3 player with 4GB microSD expansion. There’s no word on when it will drop or how much it will cost. We’ll be sure to pass those along in due time.]]>

It has come out, and is around $150, depending on the “wed only” discount.

Anyone know if you can buy the phone online from Cricket, then have it activated on MetroPCS since this is an AWS triband phone? $80 would be a great deal. If so, would the web browser work?

I’ve had this phone for a few months and I constantly have to remove the battery and put it back in because it frequently freezes. Yesterday the battery died completely and won’t hold a charge. Taking it back to Cricket today but not happy since I just bought it in August!!!!

dana, mine has done the exact same thing…..first would freeze often and last night the battery completely died without any warning. did you get any answers from cricket about the problem?

Dana & Lyn, ive had the same problem. My phone would freeze (usually when tryng to text) and i would have to remove battery, last night the phone fell off my nightstand while charging and the battery wont hold a charge at all. true waste of money.
