Cricket releases Kyocera Rio
November 17, 2010/
Twice before I’ve made the mistake of calling the Keyocera Zio the Kyocera Rio. It wasn’t quite a typo, but I think my brain was saying, “Zio’s not a word, idiot” and my fingers were believing it. Now Kyocera has made life a tad more confusing by releasing a device on Cricket called the Rio. It’s a haptic touchscreen device with a 2.8 inch screen at 240 x 320 pixels. Other features include a 1.3 megapixel camera and microSD expansion up to 16GB. Unlike the Zio, the Rio does not feature Android, but it does have a WAP 2.0 browser and access to Cricket’s BREW content. It also only runs 1x CDMA data, so no EVDO. Still, it’s cheaper than a lot touchscreens out there, just $110 after rebates. You can get it at Cricket’s website.]]>
