ZTE Grand X Max Phablet Debuts with Cricket

ZTE Grand X Max

Cricket Wireless has announced the upcoming availability of their second phablet, the ZTE Grand X Max. This phablet will be available in stores and online on October 10, 2014 and is expected to retail for $199.99 with a new plan activation. This massive phone features a six inch high definition screen and comes preloaded with Peel Smart Remote, which turns the smartphone into part of your entertainment scene with personalized TV recommendations. Hardware specs for the phablet include:
  • Android 4.0
  • 1 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 4 GB memory
  • microSD slot, up to 32 GB
  • 8 MP camera
  • VGB front camera
  • 1600 mAh battery
  • AGPS, Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, etc
Obviously designed for the mid range users, this phablet is perhaps a little high priced for the specs that you get–and the battery specifically gives me pause, as this behemoth is only set for about 6 hours of 3G talk time. However, if you’re on Cricket and you want an Android phablet, this is pretty much your option. The only other phablet available through AT&T owned MVNO Cricket is the Nokia Lumia 1320, a Windows phone. Cricket offers a range of plans depending on what users need. Plans start at $40 and range up to $60. Cricket also offers several promotions including $5 off of your monthly bill when you sign up for autopay and rebates for additional lines on the same account.
