MetroPCS Adds Cuba to World Calling Add-On
June 16, 2015/
As the tensions between the United States and Cuba have begun to cool, some companies are starting to offer minutes to call Cuban numbers. And, it looks like MetroPCS has officially joined the short list of companies with the most recent addition of a handful of minutes dedicated to calling both Cuban landlines and mobile numbers.
In addition to unlimited landline calling and mobile-to-mobile texting to various countries, the $10 world calling add-on now includes 20 minutes of calling to Cuban landlines and mobile numbers. Roaming in Cuba is currently not supported, but the add-on does give you 200 minutes, 200 text messages and 200 MB to use while in select countries.
There is a small catch however. In order to purchase the world calling add-on, you must have a $50 or $60 monthly plan. The cheaper $30 and $40 plans do not qualify. View MetroPCS’s full list of plans here.
MetroPCS is a prepaid brand owned by T-Mobile which uses the company’s GSM network. MetroPCS both sells devices and also supports activating devices, provided they are compatible with the network. Click here to learn more about MetroPCS.]]>
